"My life is brilliant…read more.. My life is brilliant My love is pure I saw an angel Of that I'm sure She smiled at me on the subway She was with another man But I won't lose no sleep on that 'Cause I've got a plan..." Almost a carbon copy to my London Underground review written a year ago. And with James Blunt crooning you know it's a romantic tragedy waiting to happen... "Yes, she caught my eye As we walked on by She could see from my face that I was F-high And I don't think that I'll see her again But we shared a moment that will last 'til the end" Piccadilly Circus stop on the Piccadilly Line is part of the London Underground railway system that has been serving Londoners since 1890! And really with train lineage that dates to 1863! One can only imagine a young Jack the Ripper roaming the stations late at night... Piccadilly Circus stop is my usual stop when I'm staying in SOHO but I promise I'm not Jack lol! A convenient location, really... in the heart of London with the Theatre District a stones throw away and iconic Carnaby street within a stroll. Boots is the convenience store or Primark if you're into souvenir tees and socks. British Pubs a plenty too! Piccadilly Circus stop is also where I met my soul mate... pretty English-ish lady with Twiggy lashes and angelic Bardot lips. We made eye contact and... "You're beautiful You're beautiful You're beautiful, it's true I saw your face in a crowded place And I don't know what to do 'Cause I'll never be with you..." And no romantic tragedy here:) The end. "My life is brilliant... My life is brilliant My love is pure I saw an angel Of that I'm sure She smiled at me on the subway..." Ta! Ta!

Decent service running from Heathrow to, uh, Cockfosters. I know, I'm older than middle school, but…read moreit still amuses me to hear it repeated. Helpfully, the cars have a designated area for luggage storage. Just don't let your own luggage get out of your sight. The Piccadilly line splits at Acton Town, heading to the North for Uxbridge and slightly more South for Heathrow, which also splits at Hatton Cross with one line going to terminals 1-2-3 and then 5, and the other going to terminal 4 before returning to 1-2-3. This can be a bit confusing for the tourists who might have some trouble with English, let alone the mumbled version of the train drivers. In addition to Heathrow, the line also stops at King's Cross / St. Pancras for the Eurostar train to Paris. This makes it the most "touristy" of the Tube lines, so expect people to ask where "Lie-chest-er" Square is (it's "less-tuh"!). This is a very long tube line, completely crossing from the northeast of London to the west/southwest. It takes about an hour and a half to go from one end to the other. Still, it's extremely useful even as the cars fill to the brim between Holborn and Earl's Court and again from Hammersmith to Heathrow.

The truth is there's nothing exceptional or extraordinary about the hotel but then of course it is priced accordingly But what was a surprise? Was the man working on the front desk, Steven He was exceptional and extraordinary and he's an asset to the business He went over and above, managing an anxious traveler with respect and efficiency, and I came away feeling that he is somebody that should be fast tracked in a management program

Recently stayed at the Travelodge London Central City Road. Here are my notes:…read more * Room Size: Some of the rooms are quite small, but asking for a room at the front of the building is a good hack--those rooms tend to be larger due to the shape of the building. * Breakfast Deal: If you book through certain websites, you'll get complimentary breakfast, which is definitely worth it. The breakfast spread was surprisingly good. * Old but updated: The hotel is definitely on the older side and could use a remodel. While the rooms themselves are updated and comfortable, the hallways have that kind of worn, dated vibe. * IMPORTANT: There's no air-conditioning! I would not stay here in the warmer months. * Location: It's close to the tube and the Elizabeth line, making it super convenient to get around. Plus, you can easily walk to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Overall, your experience at Travelodge London Central City Road may vary, but it's a decent budget-friendly option.

The good: - Location - super Central to just about…read moreeverything that you need as a tourist. Very hopping all day and night - it's near the theater district. - Value - from what I remember, I think I got a pretty good deal for what I got. Many of the hotels I looked in the area had tiny rooms that only fit a bed but this had so much room - great size bed and bathroom and desk and storage. - You get $ for not doing daily room cleanings. You can get 7 Euros per day for skipping the cleaning and you can use 2 of the credits at a time at the restraunt downstairs. We put it towards breakfast for one of the days. - Refillable filtered water on every floor and you get 2 refillable water bottles in the room along with a chocolate bar. - Pretty lobby and the staff were very helpful and nice. The bad: - The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because my side of the bed was super uncomfortable and hard to sleep in. I thought it was just me at first but I made my partner switch sides after 2 nights and he hated it as well. I have no idea why but one side of the bed was extra hard and bumpy or something. It gave me major backpains for the 2 nights that I slept in it. Luckily my partner was willing to switch with me and I had such a better night sleep after that.

This hotel is in the heart of it all, and most probably book it for that reason…read more The rooms are clean, as was the bathroom, and the bed was comfortable. They need to work on check in times, as we saw long lines each day. Also, the "going green" campaign needs some fine tuning. This program offers some money for not having housekeeping. The problem is the cleaning crew must give the ticket, and we didn't get one. Not a big deal/ this seems more like a systems issue rather than anything else. The doorman looks the part, but he rarely actually opened the door. Always had a smile and was friendly. But outside of that, I can recommend this hotel without question. We also stopped in for drinks at the bar and enjoyed our time.

The company is located in a good location for my work and is near both Charing Cross and Leicester Square for transport. The office is on the 3rd floor of a modern apartment building and feels reputable. The company offers different speeds of service and price, (see the website). In addition they can also arrange travel in China, internal flights and so forth, although I didn't use part of this service. The visa arrived on the day I wanted it. I picked it up from their office, (a service that is free), or included in the price they will courier your passport back to you. You can courier documents to them or drop them at the office. Staff were friendly and helpful and advised me on my first application what needed to be changed so that the application wasn't rejected. The main reason to use an agent is that the queue for the Chinese VISA section starts at 7.15am in the morning and at 8.30am will be a 2-3hr queue that stretches around the block. Therefore by paying a small premium you save lots of time and hassle.

Their office is a few minutes to mine so I normally drop off the application in person than using a courier. Have also used them to sort out the domestic flight & train tickets, car hire, hotel bookings and appoint a translator all went flawless. Took my family for a 12 day holiday to Beijing, Yangshuo and the Yangtze cruise earlier this year. They tailor-made an excellent itinerary in a very short notice. Ground arrangements were all first class. Wonderful guides and drivers, good selection of accommodation and meals. Great job!
