We booked online with Stasher and it was just over 13 pounds for two bags for the day. However, when we got there, signs said it's 5 pounds per bag per day. We should have just walked in! It's a no-frills place. You walk down steep stairs, which with luggage isn't ideal. Go down a small, narrow hallway and give your bags to an attendant. They'll place it in a crowded room and give you a ticket. If you don't reserve online, they take cash only.

Two groceries are in the station, which makes it very convenient to pick some things up. A hotel is in the renovated older part of the station. It has a direct entrance rate into Paddington Station. This is a good location to stay. Lots of hotels in different price range ranges are within a 5 to 10 minute walk shopping and restaurants are all set within a 5 to 10 minute walk.

In my four months in London this year, the Piccadilly Line proved to be by far the most consistent…read moreline in the Underground circuit. Almost never late or with mysterious gaps in service, I could always rely on it to get me where I needed to go. This was often to the Holloway Road stop, which is the home of London Metropolitan University (city campus), the Russell Square stop (home to University of London at Birkbeck) and to Heathrow. Heathrow International Airport terminals 1 through 5 are the last stops on the train. if you are going to terminals 1, 2, or 3, they are all at one stop. There are two different Heathrow trains. One that goes to 1/2/3 and then 5, and another that first stops at 4 and then loops back around to 1/2/3, now headed towards Cockfosters. Due to the loop and such, it is faster to get to 1/2/3 using the one that also goes 5, not 4. The Piccadilly line, perhaps more than most others, goes quite far outside of central London. It can take you to the suburbs and some pretty far-out areas. You can get to Uxbridge or Hounslow or Osterly on this line - pretty distant. Therefore it is great for commuters. The Piccadilly Line also stops in some extremely busy and popular London areas. Stops such as Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, Covent Gardens are tourist centers as well as huge shopping and dining areas. It also, like many other lines, runs through Kings Cross so you can transfer to nearly any other line easily. Overall, loved the Piccadilly Line, always in my heart!

Piccadilly Circus stop is my usual stop when I'm staying in SOHO but I promise I'm not Jack lol! A convenient location, really... in the heart of London with the Theatre District a stones throw away and iconic Carnaby street within a stroll. Boots is the convenience store or Primark if you're into souvenir tees and socks. British Pubs a plenty too! Piccadilly Circus stop is also where I met my soul mate... pretty English-ish lady with Twiggy lashes and angelic Bardot lips. We made eye contact and... The Basement is more like a lounge where you can also get Contiki swag. It's one of the spots they hold meetings with tours. You run into plenty of other travelers there, so meeting people is easy! But the Paddington end of the Heathrow Express can be a little chaotic! When we arrived to take it back to Heathrow at the end of our trip, a Heathrow Express train was sitting there but it was being held due to something on the line. By the time we got on, the train was packed - no more seats - and we had to climb over people's suitcases to get to an area where we could stand. Eventually, we took off, but it was crowded. A great service, but I certainly recommend buying tickets online ahead of time to avoid having to use the ticket machines in the station or at Heathrow to avoid waiting in lines to buy them there (plus you save a pound or two online).

There was a homeless man who resided under our window who, every night, coughed for three hours straight before he fell asleep. The kind of nauseating cough that harkens back to the age of sanitariums. Not pleasant for either of us I'm sure. * Toilet positioning. If you happen to have a left leg you may find sitting comfortably will pose an interesting challenge, at least if you get room 418. The toilet is next to the shower, and when I say next to the shower, I mean practically touching the glass shower wall. * Air temperature control. The room was chilly during the day, but hot and stuffy at night. The only way to control that was to open the window. Our windows were half covered with immobile wood shutters, which made opening them basically impossible. Also, refer to my first bullet point. * I'm not sure I got the room I booked. I pre-checked in hours before the room was ready, but when I returned to collect my room keys the front desk employee got squirrelly. She wrote down my name and scurried into a back office. When she came back she said something to the effect of, "Ok, I found a room for you." I found this curious as I had already did the heavy lifting of checking in, I just needed the keys, but after 24 hours of travel I just didn't have it in me to inquire. I just wanted a bed. This room did not have a sideboard-type table or a mirror outside of the bathroom, and there was absolutely no room to put either. And, of course, as previously mentioned, the window and bathroom situation. I let it go because we were only there three nights, but the more I think about it the more it annoys me.

You can get 7 Euros per day for skipping the cleaning and you can use 2 of the credits at a time at the restraunt downstairs. We put it towards breakfast for one of the days. - Refillable filtered water on every floor and you get 2 refillable water bottles in the room along with a chocolate bar. - Pretty lobby and the staff were very helpful and nice. The bad: - The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because my side of the bed was super uncomfortable and hard to sleep in. I thought it was just me at first but I made my partner switch sides after 2 nights and he hated it as well. I have no idea why but one side of the bed was extra hard and bumpy or something. It gave me major backpains for the 2 nights that I slept in it. Luckily my partner was willing to switch with me and I had such a better night sleep after that.
