We have been patients at ContinuEM Urgent Care for over two years, and we cannot recommend them highly enough! In November 2022, they quite literally saved our 8-month-old's life. After other doctors dismissed his symptoms as just a common cold, the staff here immediately took action. They were caring, thorough, and compassionate, especially when we expressed fears about transferring to an ER. Knowing we had high-deductible insurance and had already faced long ER waits the day before, the on-site doctor personally called a colleague at Memorial Children's Hospital to make sure we were seen and treated right away. Thanks to their swift care and attention, our son received the treatment he needed, which resulted in a week-long ICU stay--but he fully recovered. Today, I visited again for myself after catching a virus. I'm rarely sick, but this time I felt miserable. Once again, their exceptional care stood out. I waited less than 10 minutes to be seen, and the doctor was kind, attentive, and had an incredible bedside manner. They quickly provided medications, tests, and a chest X-ray, all covered under my insurance's specialist co-payment. Terrible attitudes here. Would not recommend anyone here. Probably why their lobby was completely empty when I got here. Came in because I smashed my finger. Sat for 20 min or so before getting seen then sat another 15 min in their little make shift room. Only saw 1 other patient while i was there. So the "provider" saw me. Poor attitude right off the bat. My finger is swollen and and has clear liquid slowly coming out from under my finger nail. Dry blood still on my finger. I get my x rays done and they say it isn't broken. Thank god. Anyway she says "ok you're done" I was like ?????? She's like you can go. I looked at my finger all dirty and bloody and she said she can put a hole in my finger nail to relieve some pressure. I look at her in disbelief. Mind you my finger nail isn't black under it for blood to come out. It's the bottom of the finger where your finger prints are that's purple. Sorry I was such an inconvenience to your slow day . Ya I won't be going back. Waste of 100$. So I left with a bloody finger. And no finger splint. read more

The level of care from my nurses is literally S-Tier. Ive been to other urgent care because I have a penchant for injuring myself in many different ways because who doesn't like variety? Id like to give a ginormis shout out to Nurse Courtney, Nurse Domingo, and Nurse Robyn were some of the professionals that provided me unbelievably excellent care. Came in after a day of feeling off. Luckily time that there wasn't much of a wait time. Check in was really simple and able to do the questionnaire from your phone. From the first person I spoke with to check in, the wonderful woman who did the intake and EKG, XRay Technician, everyone was so accommodating and personable. We made an appointment from the July 7th and they were called to cancel the appointment at the last minute ( 30' before the appointment time). They were telling my dad to come back the 21st of July at 10:00am and when we are arrived there they say " we have appointment on the July23th at 4:00pm. That was not right because we asked them to schedule on Monday ( our day off) so any Monday for us is fine. They were changes my dad appointment without letting us know. I am so upset for that place. They should call us if they want to schedule the appointment.( My dad had to take a day off from his work to see them and now he has to come back the next 2 days again for seeing them. read more

However the owners have been having trouble collecting fees from insurance company's and they are now passing those fees onto us, the patients. A friend recommended this facility to me a few years ago, and yesterday was the first time I had to use it. I had been experiencing intermittent ear pain for several weeks, and I tried to get an appointment with my ENT, but he was booked through next year. I was advised to call each week to see if there were any cancellations. I went to this facility yesterday around 11 am. Approximately six people were waiting to be seen by a doctor. I filled out paperwork and waited about 30 to 40 minutes before being called in. Dr. Freddy Sotelo was the attending physician. He was very personable and professional, and he listened to my complaints. Initially, he couldn't tell if I had an infection because my ear was clogged with earwax. After irrigating, he saw redness and determined I had a mild inflammation. A prescription was called into my pharmacy, I received my After Visit Summary, and I was released. The entire process, from signing in to leaving, was about 1.5 hours or less. With such a nice experience, I would not hesitate to return to this location again should I need urgent care. read more

Honestly I don't often or ever leave reviews. I think the facility is great, great staff and very up to date. However my complaint is with their transparency. I came the last week of May 2024 (have anthem blue cross PPO) and had maybe a $20 deductible at most. Today I arrive and I get hit with a $200 deductible at the door, I ask what it's for bc it was far less last time and the front desk ladies ramble off "oh care, cleanliness..." so I reluctantly accept it and wait. ***So I guess mid year they are no longer in my vast insurance network but they failed to tell me that in the beginning . Same thing when I was being treated "oh yes the CT scan is done here" So I say okay then let's do it, then walk in with another $250 bill. Overall facility and care is great; transparency is suspect. Be sure to do your due diligence prior or you might be in for a good one like me. read more

This place was clean and conveniently located, but I'm giving it 2 stars because they rushed us the entire time and the bed side manner was not pleasant, especially with my 4-year-old daughter. They weren't patient with her throat swab for strep and they never followed up on her results the next day as promised. I had to call to track it down and was on hold for a long time and kept being switched to other people. They originally said they would take over an hour because the lab was closed already since we came in 45 minutes prior to closing. Other urgent cares get the results back in 15 mins. My daughter tested positive for the flu with symptoms less than 48 hours in and they never offered Tamiflu like the other urgent care did for me. When I thought we would need to go back the next day because her fever had gotten higher, it seemed they were trying to redirect us to the ER for no valid reasoning and they didn't tell me over the phone the actual time they closed, just that we had to get there 45 mins prior to closing for their last check in. Seems like the staff is irritated and just wants to get out of there as soon as possible, not considering the sensitivity of their work they chose to do and the state people come in. I took my 9-year-old here for a toe injury. (Turned out he had a dislocated and fractured pinky toe.) I couldn't be happier with the care he received. The front office staff was patient and courteous. The MA, radiology tech and provider were friendly and skilled. I find it really useful and convenient that this place is open til 11pm, and the facility is well-equipped. They have a working x-ray machine and a full lab. They can even do CT scans and MRI's. The first place I took my son to turned us away because their x-ray machine was not working and had not been working for some time. I was also pleased that our visit took a total of about 1.5 hours. We got there at 7:53 and were done by about 9:30. Amazing! Highly recommend this place! read more

I arrived to ContinuEM around 3:50pm, as a walk in with my daughter. Check in with vitals, x-ray and results occurred by about 4:30pm. I have never ever found such a clean, compassionate, patient urgent care establishment that provided such care in my 50 years on this earth. The waiting area was bright, with lots of natural light, the wall coloring and furniture just felt fresh and welcoming. The office staff were very welcoming, offered help to my daughter and smiled providing reassurance. The intake nurse provided clarification for our visit, and provided good communication on next steps. The NP was soft spoken, provided a bedside manner that aligns with how she would care for own family member. The NP was very patient, allowed my daughter to process the who, what, when, where and how with grace. When I was told that xrays will be ordered, I thought we were going to get a referral to go next door. To my surprise here comes the xray tech with the machine to the room. At that point I was outdone and couldn't wait to right this review. In these days and times I thank God for an urgent care that does what they promote. We are just finishing at ContinuEM and have had great care. This is the second Urgent Care we've visited in four days. By far, the care we received from Marissa and Dr. Im was the most complete and polite compared to the previous Urgent Care and Los Alamitos ER. Dr. Im listened to my husbands symptoms and concerns, addressed each one and helped us to understand what is going on with his health right now. I walked in and could not breathe very well as a result of previously diagnosed pneumonia. The staff was quick to respond and within five minutes I had a bed! I spent several hours there but every hour I was being treated. Dr. Michael Jordan was superb! I knew from the way he spoke to me that he was good! He promised me I would leave feeling better and I did! From IV meds to prednisone, breathing treatments, potassium supplements and magnesium drip, I checked out with no wheezing. I will always come back if I ever need urgent care! It certainly beats the hospital ER, and less expensive too. Thank you to all the nurses who were also very attentive and made me feel comfortable. For those that get upset because of the wait times, I here ya! Last week I spent 12+ hours in an ER hospital and felt like I was just a part of a sheep heard coming thru only to be pushed right out the front door. I went to this Urgent Care and they all were very detailed, accurate, professional, attentive and friendly. I'll take this care over a sheep heard push out the front door any day! Staff are all humans trying to take care of our needs as best they can. I respect the fact that if someone needs more care than I do then give it to them! I nearly died a year ago from bleeding out and it was the staff at the hospital I went to that saved my life! I became their number 1 patient that night and I owe them my life for saving me. The staff were great, helpful and worked well with my daughter who was scared because of all the blood and the need for anesthesia. Came back today to get her stitches removed and everyone was nice! Everything was amazing and fast service! We were in and out in a hour (including chest xray). The PA called in antibiotics for my 3 yr old son. They sent it to wrong pharmacy which wasn't too big of a deal, till the pharmacy claims to never have received it. I called the urgent care they refused to resend it and to have the pharmacy call them to give them a verbal. The pharmacy then refused to call them and said the urgent care would need to call. This went back and forth and I ended up receiving no antibiotics for 3 year old son who has a horrible cough. Basically making the appointment pointless now I will need to schedule an appointment with his primary doctor and pay another copay. Very unprofessional on the urgent cares and pharmacy's part! Upon arriving wait time was approx 5 min., Nurses were AMAZING!!! professional, empathetic, Kind. offered a warm blanket for my mom while she had an IV.. without us even asking!!! imagine that! Doctor was wonderful!!! She was patient, she wasn't in a rush, she listened to my mom and spoke to her eye to eye during her consultation instead of writing or making notes while most doctors do while patient is talking. Overall....EXCELLENT from beginning to end. This office is clean, modern, professional. They are the definition of what a Medical Practice should be. In order to get my hearing tested at Costco Signal Hill, yesterday (on a Saturday) I unexpectedly discovered that I needed an ear lavage (to remove wax buildup in my ears). I dreaded going to urgent care because I assumed it would take a long time (without an appointment). But it was a delightful experience from start to finish. Quick check-in. Courteous staff. (The front desk even let me temporarily borrow a charger for me phone). The doctor was great. The woman who cleaned my ears was super nice and thorough, she was really patient and sweet (thank you!). My primary care doctor sent me here for pain that I've been having and different doctors keep giving me different diagnoses. Please read the other reviews of how this place turns people in need away. They showed ZERO compassion to me when I drive across town to get to this urgent care. I arrived at this urgent care at 10:32pm only to be turn away. I was told they check in their last patient at 10:30pm. TWO MINUTES?!?! You can't make an exception for 2 minutes!! I drove 20 miles speeding down the freeway to get here before they closed only to be COLDLY turned away. I am in severe pain due to what I believe is a UTI and will now have to sit in an emergency for 5 plus hours because of two minutes. I do not recommend this place!
