DO NOT GO HERE! This has to be THE WORST office I have EVER dealt with. The employees are dispicable. Iv been hung up at least 3 times, put on hold only to be hung up in again 15 min later! And this crap happens EVERY..SINGLE...TIME..IV EVER HAD TO CALL..The office manager "Maria", is extremely unprofessional, thus creating a very rude and unprofessional team of reps that are so unbelievably rude, unprofessional, tacky, gamey, childish and clearly have no experience nor care in searving paying customers with not even basic customer service standards. I can't thank these girls enough for what they did for me. I just recently moved to the Austin area and was in need of some auto insurance, but like most people I'm NOT an insurance expert. However the girls there were able to walk me through the WHOLE process. They not only explain what each coverage was but also shopped around to find me the cheapest policy that fit MY NEEDS. Needless to say that the price was phenomenally awesome!! Besides the fact that the price was able to over exceed my expectations, the girls there were extremely nice and very willing to help with what ever else I needed. They even recommend a place to eat (Habaneros across the street from them). This month was the end of my 6 month contracts, I will definitely stay with them!! Im sorry to say that doing business with Contractors for over 10 yrs off and on it hasent got any better! And what a way to start off the NewYears by being placed on hold for 20 minutes then hung up on and the called back to put on hold again for 15 minutes and hungup again, but called back again to talk to a Manager only to wait on hold for an amazing 55:32 minutes and then told id have to come in to pay in person instead of using my CC like ive done before! Theses guys are a joke and dont need to be in business atleast in the insurance industry. New Years resuloution...Don't go there! Never in 33 years have I experienced this sort discrimination from a company. After spending close to an hour on the phone trying to make a change to mine and my husbands insurance policy I was told that only a spouse could make a change. I explained to the gentlemen on the phone, Jacob that I was in fact the policy holders husband. He then told me that this insurance company American Southwest did not recognize our marriage. I then explained to him that he was committing discrimination because our marriage is legal and recognized in all 50 states. I then advised him that I would be cancelling my insurance after being a customer the last 8 years and would be contacting as many people as possible. The agent helping me named Noemi was VERY helpful. She was able to explain in detail what each of the coverages that I was buying included, and what it didn't. She also did whatever she could to find me as many discounts as possible. Not to mention that she looked and "shopped around" for me when looking to get me a policy. I came to this agency because i had heard good things about it from some of my family members who have insurance here. The first thing I liked was being greeted at the door when I walked in. Some thing else I noticed from seeing other customers is that the employees know almost everyone by name and everyone has their own person they like to go to. That was something that struck me good because i realized this place isn't like the other agencies around town that have multiple locations and are mainly worried about making money. This location along with looking professional gives you a sense a comfort knowing that they are here to actually help you and not take your money. They have been around since 1955 privately / locally owned, so they must be doing something right, right? I would definitely recommend this agency to anyone looking. read more

I've been with contractors insurance for more than 10 yrs. Both my parents have had insurance with them for more than 15 yrs. But this is by far the worst customer experience we'd encounter yet. My husband needed to make some changes to our policy so we called the office and well he was told by the receptionist that we needed to come in person to make any changes to policy. So ok we understand no big deal, is just sometimes it's inconvenient for both of us to come in since we both work. Anyways we go in, there was a wait you know it's a pretty busy, which is normal for that office. The receptionist asks if we are going to make a payment or make a change to our policy we reply make a change ( by the way she asked this in spanish so we answered back in spanish ) she says someone will help us in a little to sign in ( that's the usual procedure) so we sign in go back to sit down. The phones are ringing like crazy and this girl makes no effort to answer them, instead she is looking at her phone laughing and giggling. She finally answers the phone and once she's done talking to the person on the other side of the phone she turns and starts talking mess about the customer in English to one of the guys that sits on her left side, she just keeps going off and off about how "rude" and "f#!$ dumb" the lady is and "it's not her fault that why is she taking it out on her" blah, blah, blah. So by this point we had been there for a while and I needed to leave so I told my husband to stay and try to make the changes (we also needed to make a payment but we figured we could just wait for Maria to make the change and pay). So I leave, my husband waited a little longer but it was taking too long so he decided that he was just going to make the payment and we could come back a different day to make the change, so he approaches the girl and ask if she could just take a payment because he needed to leave she says yes so he sits and as she is looking up his information she turns to one of the guys and tells him in English " I asked them if they needed to make a payment and they said no, he has been just waiting for a while, how stupid" and rolls her eyes ( keep in mind that she is tending to my husband in spanish so she thinks he doesn't understand English ) so she takes the payment and my husband starts asking her a question when her phone vibrates and instead of listening to what my husband is asking she looks down at her phone and starts laughing! That is just extremely unprofessional! So she ask my husband to repeat the question and at this point my husband is done. He makes his payment and decides to leave. We have been with you guys for 10 yrs. Or more. Various family members have insurance with y'all, we have seen many employees come and go. Maria I think is the only one that has lasted there a while and she is very knowledgeable and fast. There's also the guy that sits on the corner I forgot his name but he is very polite and helpful and has great customer service. But this new receptionist is horrible at her job. First you do not talk bad about your customers no matter how difficult they are, and if you do just do it in private not in front of other customers just because you don't think they understand you. Secondly when you have a customer sitting in front of you, your attention should be fully on them and not on your personal phone! And last you do not make smart remarks about the customer sitting in front of you just because you don't think he understands the language. We have been extremely disappointed and we are currently looking to take our business somewhere else thanks to the unprofessionalism of this girl. You guys need to do a better job at hiring professional people that offer at least good customer service. As for us we won't be doing business with you guys any more and I will make sure to never refer y'all to anyone. It's sad that I had to post this review but I tried talking to the manager Jacob and every attempt I made to talk to him I always got told he would call me back and he never did. read more
