Not exactly the thing I wanted to happen on a rebuilt and upgraded engine that is only 7-8 years old since the last rebuild/machining. Definitely too soon for something like this to happen. She wasn't even over 100K miles yet (maybe around 80-90k?). On top of that, I never raced her let alone even had work done requiring removal of the oil pan! I was very strict about oil changes and all maintenance. She was my daily driver and racked up a good amount of miles. Still unsure exactly what's causing my problem as I haven't taken her apart yet but at this point, time for another engine (unfortunately)! Very disappointed.

I kept googling horror stories lol. When I went to pick it up I was genuinely nervous. Walked around the whole car, looked at it in the sun, took like 50 photos and I could not find the repair. Like at all. The color is perfect, the finish is perfect, everything matches. I actually texted my friend immediately like "I can't believe this." If you've had an accident and you have a Lexus please just go to Universal Motorcars. Especially if you have a dark colored car. The interior front and back seats were covered in black marks, and some of the 3M label was left between the doors. While the repair itself was satisfactory, the finishing was subpar. When I left the car at the body shop, it was 80% charged, but it was barely 40% when I picked it up. The shop claimed they would charge my vehicle, but it appears they charged it on the second week and didn't charge again before returning it. The repair was supposed to take three weeks, but they kept delaying it, and I ended up picking it up at the end of week four. They claimed the car was washed and bluffed, but when I picked it up, it was dirtier than before. Danny provided excellent customer service, but the result was disappointing. They missed a small detail and it seems like they returned the vehicle without completing the job. I had high expectations based on the positive reviews they received on Google and Yelp, but I was mistaken.

I had a damaged part that was extremely difficult to find a replacement. I searched online for…read moreseveral weeks, even reaching out to the original manufacturer, with no luck. My best option was to try and have it repaired, but even that was tricky. The part was cast iron and a little thin. I asked if they could weld it up and then machine it to tolerance. As we were concerned, the part didn't survive the repair. But that didn't stop Gilbert's! They ended up sourcing a replacement elsewhere and brought it in to me at no additional cost. I offered to pay whatever the difference was but they insisted that the bill was already settled. They wouldn't take anything more than their original quote.
