CCM sells Boars Head and they have the softest freshest bread rolls which automatically gains five stars in my book of carbs. I sometimes stop in just to buy the rolls when I'm making sausage and peppers at home. While you're at it, try the tuna salad. I don't typically eat tuna anywhere but home and Convenient Corner (for obvious reasons). Their mac salad is delicious and you can't beat being able to grab a bag of chips, fresh baked goods (chocolate chip cookies and Rice Krispies that are to die for) and a drink to complete the meal. This place rocks! End review ...mic drop! Well...maybe I can elaborate a little. The service is super friendly and they use Boar's Head meats and cheeses. They're the best national brand IMHO! The hoagie, sub, or whatever you like to call them, rolls are hand made every morning! These aren't the heat-n-serve buns like some joints use, they're actually real homemade bread rolls and you can tell when you try them. Get there early enough in the day and they'll be warm too! As far as the store itself it's clean, well stocked and has a surprisingly good wine select for all you Vino drinkers out there. Beer too but no hard liquor at this shop. Lastly if you're in a rush just call in your order first. Each sandwich I got takes approximately 3 or 4 minutes since they're made to order and packaged super well. Haven't tried the meatball or pastrami (or beefstrami) yet. Those are next. Ham and Swiss was great! read more

We don't live too far but don't frequent this place that often. Let me start with this - my boyfriend is from the east coast where they grew up eating hoagies. I grew up eating rice and all sorts of weird things. I wouldn't say I'm a sandwich/sub/hoagie connoisseur of any sorts but he is. The bread plays a major factor. This place does it right! My review is based on the "Philly Steak" alone. Talking to the employees, I thought I was getting a good Philly cheesesteak sandwich. I should have known better when I read the description and the default cheese listed is Swiss. IYKYK. If not, look up "Kerry cheesesteak Swiss." A real Philly cheesesteak is grilled steak with sauteed onions and melted cheese. Usually ribeye steak sliced thinly. The only acceptable cheeses are cheez whiz, American, and provolone. Never Swiss. Yuck. (not that you couldn't choose at this place). I also like my cheese steak a little on the spicy side, so you should have the options to add jalapenos or hot peppers as toppings.. and also sweet peppers and mushrooms. There should also be some creamy cheese sauce. Anyway, what they have is certainly not a cheesesteak. It's a toasted roast beef sandwich with red onions, green peppers, and mayo, and a bland one at that. I couldn't eat the sandwich. I immediately drove to Forefathers 2.5 miles away. I'm giving 3 stars because at least the bread was good and the roast beef was quality. read more

Staff and customers talk sports all day, etc. The food is AWESOME, all Boars Head meats, fresh baked bread every day, and they can custom tailor sandwiches to what ever you want - they way it should be. Service is FAST, they never disappoint. It's also well located so you don't need to deal with the massive congestion in the Shea Blvd and 92nd street area - a nightmare. Even if that was not an issue, their quality and portions are way better than any chain stores. You'll never eat at a chain store after going here.
