When you walk in the store has a quaint ambiance and you are immediately greeted with the register where you can quickly order. We decided to try the Italian sandwich and the French dip as well as the vegetable soup which came with a side of bread. The Italian sandwich tastes pretty okay and tasted well with a side of chips. Next we had the French dip sandwich and I can say this one is my favorite. The sandwich was very cheesy and the brisket was nice. The dip also tasted nicely sweet. Finally we had the vegetable soup which tasted pretty okay. The broth was nice as it had a bit of spice, but tasted a bit watery. I also loved the side of bread it came with, as the sourdough tastes lovely. read more

Ordered two 8" Rueben's. Very disappointed in the quantity of pastrami in the sandwich. Felt like we were eating a sauerkraut sandwich. It's a shame to pay $13 per sandwich for that. First time eating here and went with a traditional turkey sub. Added lettuce and tomato with dijon mustard. The mustard gave it a great flavor. The cashier did recommend the cracked pepper turkey as it's a popular option there (fyi: lots more options to choose from). Went around 11 am and service was good and quick. HORRIBLE experience. We will never be back. We'll start with the experience of just trying to order your food. It's chaos at the counter because there's no designated line and everybody's also trying to pick up DoorDash orders and there's only one person at the counter (at peak lunch hour). We got passed up two or three times. As for the food, my husband's sandwich was completely wrong. He asked for it to be heated up. It wasn't heated. And he couldn't even try to eat it if he wanted to because it was horrible and falling apart (because it wasn't heated up). Plus they forgot the clam chowder that I ordered so we had to go back in for the clam chowder. Only to take a few couple bites and potatoes in the clam chowder we're not even cooked Through Horrible horrible clam chowder. Not to mention they didn't include any crackers for the corn chowder because oh yeah, they forgot to include it in the first place. There are plenty of great sandwich shops in the Scottsdale and even Phoenix area. No need to try this one. read more

Tried to order online and the only pickup location was Avondale or Houston, TX, so I called. I ordered the 8" Pastrami and Turkey with pickles, lettuce, tomato and their special sauce. My wife had the Clam Chowder Bread Bowl which she said was one of the best tasting. My sandwich was good and messy. I liked the crunch of the sourdough which reminded me of Dutch Crunch. When I tried to find the sandwich shop that night, I couldn't find it 'cause they had their outdoor sign turned off. I had to call again to find out where they were located. I was so excited to try this place. Sourdough is my fav bread. I'm so glad I did. I had their peppered Turkey sandwich. Their sourdough bread was so fresh, soft and lightly toasted to perfection. The sandwich came generally packed with fresh ingredients. They have a lot of options. Next time I visit, I want to try their Mac and cheese. I even chatted with the owner for a bit, Dave. Great place to visit as it is close to 101 and Via Linda. It was clean and nicely setup. I ordered veggie sandwich with bell pepper, carrot, Cucumber, sliced avocado, Tomatoes, onion, Jalapeño peppers, lite Mayo and lite Dijon mustard and asked them make it toasted. Taste wise it was good but felt little dry. Guys are very friendly and helpful. I would visit this again and try different sandwich. They also offer salads, and soups. 4.3/5. Ordered the BBQ brisket on sourdough to go. Added onion and pepperoncinis. Brisket was very flavorful as well as the green chili slaw. I really enjoyed the sourdough bread. Had a good chew, good toast and a really good sour flavor. I guess it probably should because , well it's in the name lol. Large size and filling. Only gripe would be that it started to get soggy and messy. There were quite a bit of wet slaw and sauces though. Also I would chalk it up to drive time. They state it is a hot sandwich but the meat wasn't hot or even warm. Would of liked it to be warmer. I would definitely go back, try other sandwiches and am looking forward to it. I would be very careful visiting this place if you food allergies. They made a sandwich for me with cheese and I ask for no cheese. Halfway through the melting process they realized and pulled the cheese off. They didn't know I saw what they did - and never asked if I had an allergy just sent me home w sandwich. We normally love this place, but something was off tonight. My wife picked it up on her way home, I ordered the Italian. When I have ordered this in the past, it had vinegar and oil. Today it had mustard as well and not just a little. There may have been more mustard than meat! I asked my wife if she asked for mustard, she said no. Extremely rude staff! After waiting over 30 minutes for my order which consisted of one sandwich, cashier literally threw my order on the counter in front of me and walked away. So glad to have stopped and grabbed a sandwich at World of Sourdough in Scottsdale at the intersection of Thompson peak and Hayden. Usually I'm not much of a sandwich person but I ordered the French Dip with banana peppers and oh my goodness it was perfection. I ate the sandwich so fast I almost forgot to dip it in the au jus! The sandwich was delicious even without dipping in the first few bites. The staff was really sweet and the restaurant was very clean!! I'll definitely be grabbing lunch more often at this spot. They also offer catering and have an array of salads for people who don't want the carbs of a sandwich. read more

(I did not. I ordered a full breakfast and a waffle like an adult with priorities.) I went around 9:15am on a Wednesday--only a few tables were occupied, and the staff was super friendly, gave great recommendations, and the food came out fast. Inside is dialed in with chandeliers, French-y posters and photos everywhere, and a pastry case with tarts, pastries, and cheesecake that basically dares you to behave. The croissant was the star... fresh, flaky, light, buttery... exactly what you want. The egg was cooked perfectly and the cheese was melted into it almost like a mini omelette (loved that). My only hiccup was the "bacon." It leaned more limp pork belly than crispy bacon and had a distinct smoke flavor that wasn't the traditional hardwood/hickory vibe I'm used to. Also... because the cheese and egg are fused together, it's basically impossible to pick the bacon out once it's in there. Next time I'd order it without bacon or ask for it on the side and make it crispy. It came with a side salad, which is not what I expected with breakfast, but it was actually great, fresh spring mix and a delicious dressing with a subtle sweet undertone. There were also hash browns with a crispy exterior and soft, warm interior, exactly the texture you hope for I just wish there were more of them! Because I have no self-control around French cafes, I also ordered the Belgian waffle with fruit and whipped cream. The waffle was warm and tasty, more tender/soft than crispy, and I ended up preferring it to the 'scrape the roof of your mouth' style that most restaurants serve up. The whipped cream tasted freshly whipped and the fruit selection was generous. My only critique: I'd skip the granulated sugar on top. The waffle is sweet enough already, and biting into sugar crystals isn't my favorite texture. For a drink I tried the blueberry lavender matcha. It had crushed blueberries in it, but the matcha flavor was pretty mild and the lavender got lost. I also would've liked a touch more sweetness from the syrup but overall it drank a bit "soft" and subtle. Bottom line... really cool little spot with friendly service, quick food, and a pastry case that will absolutely ruin any plan you had to "just eat light." I'll be back but next time I'm customizing that croissant sandwich and letting the pastries talk me into bad decisions.

I was told about the wait here for food, but...fast food is bad and good food takes time. The store is under new ownership and management from what I'm told. They seem to have a bunch of people training trying to up their staff and get out fast ticket times. The place has a lot of potential and soon will be a killer spot.
