The process is counter service - go up to the counter, order your meal with the friendly and helpful staff, and they will tell you where to sit. I ordered the Abbufino, which was absolutely delicious--flavorful, satisfying, had a great spicy kick, and a great choice for lunch. We also shared the Italian fries, which were a huge hit at the table, and a slice of the almond cake for dessert. The almond cake was the perfect way to finish the meal--rich, moist, and not overly sweet. It's the kind of place that feels both casual and special, with great food and a fun atmosphere. The setting is uber Italian with a small Italian market feel and an array of different seating from long community tables to living room style loungers. There are nooks to hide in and enjoy great conversations. The Italian kitchen buzz is relaxing and full of energy. The place oozes an Nonna's kitchen. This is family, from the patriarch milling around with a heavy Italian accent to the proud family heritage behind the counter taking orders and issuing handshakes to friends. A very authentic surrounding that makes you smile. I ordered the porketta sandwich with small salad, side of giardiniera, and a side of homemade bread with olive oil. The roll was ethereal with a delicious taste, not overly crispy, savory and nicely shaved porketta meat. The added giardiniera was a slap in the face to your taste buds, perfect! The green leaf salad was lightly seasoned, not overly dressed and simple, but uncious. The only issue was the homemade slices of Italian bread and olive oil. I could not stop dunking and eating. After two orders, I had to stop. What a treat for lunch. The service is spot on, food was delicious and environment was relaxing and high energy. This is a hidden gem and tucked away in a back lot with a stand alone building. Top notch visit. We decided to try Andreolis after years of wanting to try it out! We pulled up to the parking lot and walked into what felt like an Italian family's home. There were tables of people chatting and enjoying their food, it was very warm and inviting. We walked up to the counter and ordered our meal. We weren't sure if you order and then sit at the tables or if you order at the tables. After watching a few other tables, we think you're supposed to order from the servers. Our mistake. We ordered the Sempronio and the Farfalle special dish. The Sempronio is a sandwich with prosciutto, mozzarella, and roasted pepper, served on a baguette. The farfalle is a pasta dish with mushrooms, olives, and sausage in a tomato cream sauce. The sandwich was so delicious. The baguette was soft and incredible. And comes with a beautiful salad. Nothing special about the salad but it was beautiful next to the sandwich. The pasta was delicious. I am not an olive person but it was still delicious. If you get a pasta, it comes with sliced artisan bread and olive oil. The vibe in the restaurant is amazing. Each time I come here, Andreoli's doesn't disappoint. I love this place so much. True Italian food, great service, the vibes are always high. I usually get the sandwiches but I went in and tried their pasta and it was absolutely perfect. The menus are on the wall at the check-out counter. Read them on your feet. While standing, the matre'de will ask whether you wish to sit inside or outside the restaurant. The host will give you the table number he has reserved for you. When you have finished ordering, you go to your seat. They will deliver it to you. When done, your table will be bused. You can remain seated as many others do. When seated, take note of the half-corks. They keep your fork from touching the napkin or any other part of the table top. Please see the photo. Their #1 on the menu is sausage and peppers. It's also mine. It is toughly grilled and dark, not bitter/burnt tasting. Andreoli serves the salad with a light oil and vinaigrette. If water is your beverage, you get a class filled with ice. They also sell pear juice and other interesting drinks. First time visit . I've been wanting to try it since we moved here but had never gotten around to it. First of all, great looking joint and atmosphere. You can tell the place is filled with regulars. I was by myself and ordered the spicy soppressata, smoked mozzarella on focaccia. Had a nice little side salad. The sandwich was toasted ...but really felt more panini. Very nice and spicy but if I'm being honest panini isn't my favorite . I finished with a delicious chocolate croissant. "Shut up and eat". Cute. Would be humorous if they were pleasantly Tongue In Cheek about it, but they are actually pretty rude on a consistent basis. I think it comes from the owner who would thinks way too highly of himself as if he's an Italian male version of Julia Childs or something. The food is above average. It's not amazing. It's not outstanding. It's certainly not the best Italian food in Scottsdale let alone the state. Extra sauce on the side for your calamari? No. Add chili flakes to your linguine clams to give it a little heat? No. Not only do they not allow modifications whatsoever, you can't even purchase anything additional on the side, even if you're more than willing to pay extra for it. It's almost as if - "how dare you bother us with your primitive palette, our food is perfect and you should agree!" Tried one of their more expensive fish entrées recently and it was completely bland. Asked somebody who I believe was the owner son if I could pay for some sauce or something to give it some flavor and his response-- "nah why don't you add a little salt to it!" Ownership's attitude is truly as if they are doing you a favor by allowing you to dine at their establishment. Oh, and watch out if you make the mistake of sitting down at the owners table. You'll get an earful. Chairs and tables are rickety. The rudeness trait seems to run in their family, various family members have the similar belligerent, rude attitude. The line employees are nice for the most part. Sandwiches are OK, pastas are above average. Salads, decent, entrées, pretty good but again this place is nothing special. The fried calamari is the best I've had. They have a selection of quality deli options, and dry goods. They have a good amount of quality Italian cheeses. We shared the cookies and the pistachio mousse for dessert, and both were excellent, the pistachio mousse was especially memorable. I had the Fusilli con Carne di Costine, and the pork was incredibly tender with a rich tomato sauce. My date had one of the sandwiches, and she really enjoyed it as well. Even the iced tea stood out, it was fresh and flavorful, which isn't something I usually say about tea. The World Cup was on, giving the restaurant a fun, lively atmosphere without being overwhelming. The service was friendly and attentive, and we ended the evening with an espresso, which was the perfect finish to a great meal. The service had more of a European pace, which we really appreciated. It's a very interesting grocery/ restaurant hidden in north Scottsdale! The interior feels really Italian and the decor is really nostalgic! You can easily see the owner's personality from the pictures on the wall. My husband and I only ordered sandwiches (both came with a salad) and they were fantastic! First, the portion was big. With the price we paid, we thought this was a great deal. Second, the ingredients were high quality. The prosciutto was smoky and the cheese was buttery. The baguette was toasted right on the spot. OMG I want this place where I live!! Went for dinner a couple of weeks ago during a visit to AZ. We got one porchetta sandwich and one pasta dish with rib meat. Both were so amazing and glad we split as it was so hard to pick. The porchetta meat was super lean but moist and the bread was the perfect compliment. Husband liked the side salad that it came with. Oh and it was very large. The pasta dish was super tender pork rib meat that was slow cooked and pulled off the bone. The pasta was perfect al dente and the right level of tomato sauce. The dessert case is something to check out. They have a tray of chocolate mousse they scoop like gelato and just put on a plate. It was so fluffy, chocolately and amazing!! It might be bad if this was in my town. We lived everything so much we came back the next day for lunch and each got a different sandwich. The are sticklers for no substitutes but will leave off items. I was swooning over mine which was prosciutto and fresh mozzarella I felt like I was really in Italy. It really melted in my mouth. Husband got the sausage sandwich and liked it but I think would rank porchetta higher. So if you are anywhere within 30-60 minutes of this place you have to try it out. My boyfriend was told he had to try this place so while we were in the area we did. And then next time we were in the area we went back. It was phenomenal. The first time we went I had a sandwich on casa that was to die for I finish the whole sandwich and was so full we had split calamari as an appetizer and of course had a cannoli for dessert but everything was delicious. This time I had the orecchiette pasta with broccoli and sausage and it was to die for. I don't think you can go wrong with anything here it is truly authentic and a little gem that I highly recommend. We don't live in the area but if we did it'd be dangerous for me to live right by here cause I would come all the time. My friends and I accidentally went on a long hike and were STARVING afterwards, and we stumbled upon Andreoli Italian Grocer. We arrived for a late lunch on a weekend afternoon, and it was easy for us to get a table at that time. I had the bastardo on a hot fresh baguette which was delicious and the perfect antidote to my empty stomach. I couldn't resist the tiramisu bite which was a tasty morsel of dessert. The sausage is homemade, and delicious. I'd like more peppers on it, which I might get next time. The salad with the sandwich was basic, but the dressing had great flavor. Bread comes to the table with the meal, with oil. The biscoff ricotta pound cake was DELICIOUS. Very light on the taste, but great flavor (I forget the real name of it). The fries/leeks were good, and had a lovely dipping sauce. Space to sit indoors or outdoors. A small bit of goods for sale, as well as some cheese, meat, olives to purchase.
