One of my favorite sandwich spots in the Valley. I absolutely love these guys every time I pull up. I always order the Shrimp Pimp with extra aioli and a side of fries, and it never disappoints. The location is convenient, especially being close to the airport. The surrounding area isn't the best, and from time to time there are people outside asking for money, but that's obviously no fault of the business. The food, service, and consistency are always great. One of the more underrated sandwich spots around. read more

Stopped in today for a pastrami sandwich, and it was just as good as their other location in Peoria. Service was great--quick and easy from start to finish. The pastrami itself was really good, but the bread was the real standout. It tied everything together and made the sandwich even better. We stopped for lunch before heading into downtown Phoenix for the March Madness events. We were looking for a filling meal that would keep us fueled throughout the day, and this was perfect for that. The sandwiches were so balanced from the protein to the cheese. The chicken tender portion was also great, and they provided more than enough ranch dressing. Their pre packaged potato salad and cheesecake were also amazing and tasted very fresh. Everything was authentic to the East Coast, and this was a wonderful find. We enjoyed our dine in experience though most patrons were doing take-out. The worker was also very friendly getting us anything we needed, and answered any questions we had regarding the menu. Stopped here on my way to the airport. I always do everything I can to avoid eating airport food. So I would give this place a 10 if I could have the hot beef and it was the WOW factor I will be back at my next visit to Phoenix, you could tell the ingredient for a good quality. This is one of our go-to sandwich spots in AZ. You get a huge sandwich for the price. I don't know what makes it so good, the bread, the flavor combinations, or maybe it's nostalgia of how sandwiches tasted growing up on the east coast. Though it's hiding in plain sight in a strip of stores, you can tell the people who come in are in on this delicious secret. We ordered 3 Empire steaks and 1 Chopped. 1 order of fries and 1 order of the 50/50 of fries and onion rings. I ordered also a New York Cheese Cake. Well let me say that all prices have gone up about 50-60 cents so the menus and needs to be updated. I don't mind the change of an increase but I like when my menu has the price upfront to be correct. The place is small and can accommodate small groups but no more than 14-16 people total in establishment as they have 7 two table seats but you can add a chair or two. Most people I saw were taking their food to go. Food made to order. Meat was flavorful and delicious. The onion rings were alright but what made it a hit was the season on top of it. The fries were good and seasoned as well. The family was happy so I guess it was a win win. The sandwiches were 13.59. The cheese cake was smooth and creamy and definitely a must get. I got the plain but they have strawberry cheesecake, chocolate Oreo cheesecake, chocolate cake, and carrot cake for 4.99 a slice. I visited on a Wednesday afternoon around 1PM. It's not located in the best neighborhood, between the bus stop across the parking lot and the liquor store next door. There was plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. Although smaller in size, the restaurant was clean. There was only one other couple dining in, but there was a flow of a few customers picking up their orders. I couldn't decide between the chopped cheese and Empire Steak Sandwich (their version of a Philly) so I asked the owner. He said they were both good choices, but he preferred the chopped cheese so I ordered that for $14. The sandwich came out within a few minutes, nice and hot. It was a good sized portion, enough for lunch. I enjoyed the bread; it tasted freshly baked (not sure if they bake them in store). It was a good sandwich, but I think I would have preferred the Empire Steak Sandwich for the sliced beef vs. the chopped/diced beef. read more

This place is just amazing! The empire good, but not something that I would brag about. But the Baja fries on the other hand, those I would brag about! They are a meal by themselves honestly. Excellent fried fish sandwich and pastrami fries, although the pastrami was a little tough. The chipotle aioli on the fish was spicy and delish. Hubby had the corned beef which was tender and salty. Very nice people but it was very hot in there. Temps in Phx today were 105° and we were sweating. Plus it smelled like cigarette smoke. It's a very old building. Our company has been working in the area for about 3 weeks and we have eaten here almost every lunch. The food is the best. All I have to say is that their Philly cheesesteak sandwiches are incredible! I haven't had anything else there so I really can't speak to other menu items. I met some folks for dinner and we ordered a variety of sandwiches and sides, all were prepared with love and care. I got the Hot Chick sandwich which has crispy fried chicken breast, jalapeno, jalapeno jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, and spicy mayo on a buttery french baguette. It was huge! I ate half and was so full, plus the garlic fries with Parmesan cheese were delicious. I sampled a mozzarella stick with dipping sauce and that was yummy too. They have a variety of drinks and I got the orange Jarritos, definitely hit the spot. There was a good amount of parking available and it was easy to find. Excited to try New York street food as I've never been there before. As soon as we walked in, I noticed the restaurant is clean and packed. They have 2 tables that seat two, two tables that seat 4, and one with seating for 2. The cashier was super sweet and friendly. The onion rings were just so crispy, not oily, and really great with ranch and ketchup (we didn't even tell the cashier who handed us the food what sauces we wanted, what a considerate man).
