I can't even describe how nice it is at here at this urgent care!! Phenomenal service!! Should be a 5 star medical center

Experiencing excruciating foot pain, I went to ConvenientMD this morning to figure out what is going on. The PA, Lisa, examined my foot for about a minute and said she didn't feel any neuromas so I probably just "need better shoes." I have an extremely physical job, which she dismissed as a cause for what I think may be a fracture because apparently she thinks it's not physical enough for that. She said "you don't just get injuries by walking." I've worked on lobster boats my whole life and have experienced all sorts of regular ailments that I don't require medical attention, but this felt serious enough to seek medical care and still does. She acted like it was ridiculous for me to suggest it could be a fracture, said the X-Ray machine is currently broken and that she could send me to Bangor or Belfast for an X-Ray but that it would probably be a "waste of my time." Was in and out of there within 20 minutes, with about 5 minutes worth of exam time. No empathy, no desire to find the cause and treat the pain - which I rated as a 10. Just "find better shoes." What a joke of an establishment. read more

I had a very good experience at this facility recently. Even tho' I was advised that the wait time could be up to an hour, it was only about 15 minutes. Vitals taken and then I was seen by the NP (Gloria) who was great! She asked all the right questions about the health situation I was there for. She was cheerful, and professional, gave me all the information I needed for followup. read more

I had an accident, twisted my ankle or something (still tbd bc I wasn't able to be seen). I felt like something wasn't right and so I called this place to see if they can see me and ask about pricing. A lady told me that although they are busy and I might have to wait, that they can see me. So we made the drive there to be seen and upon arrival they tell me that they are too busy and they can't. I was very willing to wait. If that was the case, then they should have been upfront and not make me drive all the way for no reason, waisting my time and being rude saying "well things change all the time", and another secretary saying "I didn't take any calls". Disappointed, and wouldn't recommend this very unprofessional place. read more

We had to stop here for some emergency care and were very pleased by the medical care we received on the initial visit and on the two follow-up visits. Kudos to Tony the NP who took care of us on the first visit and to the male and female (Lisa) PAs who took care of us on our subsequent visit. Much better than the emergency room care I would give them 5 stars but the problem we see here is with the 2 front desk staffers who do not keep registration moving. read more

My wife and I are visiting and on vacation and, to make a long story short, both came down with Covid. A simple call to Convenient MD and we were able to get Paxlovid, which is the drug of choice for fighting Covid. The thoroughness and care and concern shown by them during our initial phone contact was truly amazing. They were very sympathetic to our frustrations. We were able to arrange a teleconference virtual meeting with the physician. She was professional and seemed very attentive to my needs. I was able to get a prescription and she said if I have any other questions or complications, to please let her know. I would recommend this company to anyone seeking prompt and thorough relief during I'll EDS. read more

Be warned the cost of care here is absolutely outrageous. I went in to get a course of antibiotics. While the service is fast, the bill I got for being seen here to get one week of antibiotics came out to $485. I was shocked. They give you no estimate either in advance. read more

Took my daughter there because she had developed a cough. Waiting room had 2 other ppl waiting. Was told it was at least a two hour wait. Children should not have to wait (nor anyone really since it's URGENT care) two hours to be seen. We walked out. We didn't realize you could schedule an appointment, otherwise I would have told her cough it had to wait for an appointment. Receptionist was nice tho and apologized. read more

On my first visit with pelvic pain I was told I strained a muscle. If no better see my pcp next week. Was not able to get into my pcp for 3 wks and at that time an xray was done only to find 3 pelvic fractures. If Convenient MD had even offered an xray they would have seen it. Went in today with pain in my ear and down into my throat, and they decided it was a muscle problem and offered me muscle relaxant. Think I'll suffer for a week or so and go to my PCP again. It took us an hour and 15 minutes to be seen. We were the first ones there when they opened and they took several people before us. my father was sitting next to me with an open stab wound in his hand. Good thing he wasn't bleeding to death because he would've been dead by the time we were seen. This place was god awful, horrible service and deplorable wait time. You are better off going to the hospital. read more

Bad experience. I had Covid symptoms and waited *three hours* here yesterday to get a PCR test taken - mostly in the parking lot and told I couldn't leave - with no warning it would take anywhere near that much time. The website said it would be a 15-30 minute wait. My girlfriend had an appointment but still had to wait just as long. Communication about how long it would take was contradictory and unhelpful. When we finally got tested, after a general health consultation we didn't need or want, they barely swabbed our noses and the tests came back negative the next day (today). I'm still sick today and my home test this morning was a clear positive. Maybe it's just a matter of timing but hard to shake the feeling they did the test wrong. Almost everyone was very friendly and nice but that's not enough to make up for the rest of the experience. read more

After waiting for 3 hours to get my throat checked, which I didn't mind, I was refused rapid Strep throat test by a doctor. She only did culture, which is ready in 3 days!! Reasoning was that I recently had Strep and that rapid will of course come back positive. Now, I don't complain and I don't go to doctors, but this time my throat pain is unbearable just like it was with last strep. They sent me away to take ibuprofen and Tylenol stating it's their policy not to do rapid since I recently had it. Dr Reiniso also made a remark that this is sad American way... how is this related to my symptoms? She offered me to speak to the director of the clinic about the policies which I found pointless at 8:00 pm at night. My husband tried to ask on my behalf to speak to someone and she said that he is harassing her and the staff and she called the police! Everyone else at the clinic were nice and attentive. Dr Reiniso didn't handle herself best to say the least. read more

I have visited this facility a few times for my own needs or the needs of my partner, and I no longer will give them the benefit of the doubt. The ONLY staff I wish to say anything positive about are the nurses. They have always been kind, they listen, ask clarifying questions, and we have always felt worthy of the walk-in care. However, the desk ladies and providers are incredibly rude, short, and speak to patients as if we are burdensome. Today, 9/23/2024, after coming in and out of the room a couple of times with test results and paperwork, the provider was asked if he could write a note for my partners employer and he sighed and responded "yep" in a harsh tone and pulled the door shut aggressively when he walked out. Overall the care was a joke, and she was tested for things they didn't ask permission for. He sat and reread the nurse notes and did not bother to ask my partner any questions for further clarification. I have debated leaving this facility a review but after today I must. This center is a disappointment to the community. I'd much rather sit in the ER for several hours than here, and believe me, you'll be in the waiting room for a while! Moving forward we will use the call ahead option at the local doctors office since they offer same day appointments. The 1 star is for the kind nurses. Sick folks, beware. read more

We were here on vacation. I had a silly accident, wacked my eyebrow with corner of car SUV door. It stopped bleeding, but was a little wide of a wound, I wanted to be sure it did not need stitches. We went to Urgent Care in Ellsworth, arrived at 7:40 pm, they were closing at 8:00. There were no other patients. They made me wait a few min, while they disappeared in back. Asked my age, and then told me that since I over 60, and I hit my head, I needed a CT scan & needed to go to the hospital. Said they didn't "do stitches". Not that they even took a look at me. it was not clear I needed stitches, in fact, as I later found out, I did not. Nor did I "need" a CT scan. In retrospect my husband and I felt they just wanted to close and get out of there, so dismissed me as soon as they could. Later in the ER, after waiting 8 hrs, at 4:00 AM, the Dr. confirmed that that particular Urgent Care sends many patients to the ER, that could have most probably been cared for in the Urgent Care. He commented that they usually at least take a look at the patient, so they can get some money out of it. Crazy enough, in Feb I got a gash right above my other eyebrow from a fall, and Urgent Care here in Delaware completely took care of me, putting in 5 stitches, giving me a tetanus shot, plus follow up care. That is what you would expect an Urgent Care to do! I shouldn't have had to go to the ER for my particular issue. My presence put more pressure on a system that was already overloaded. Yes there are things that could be improved at the hospital ER. But the bigger problem is the inefficient careless attitude exhibited by ConvenientMD Urgent Care just down the street. It does seem they are pushing away patients when they feel like it, and forcing them into an ER situation when many times it may not be warranted. A disservice to the community! Beware. read more

As Flu season is back a lot of people is getting sick. Finding a urgent care that charges reasonable prices is a rigorous task. It was a 175 visit plus laboratory which is pretty reasonable. Everyone was kind and explained the costs of every exam and options there were. It was overall a good experience. read more

I went in to get checked for multiple bites. I had a very swollen arm that was hot to touch, and painful. We are here in Maine for a couple of months from Florida.Chris, the PA did an exam and ordered Keflex which is an antibiotic. I asked for prescription strength Motrin for the pain, and he agreed to prescribe it. When I receive the discharge instructions the Motrin was not listed. The assistant went to clarify the information, and Chris told her to tell me I would not be receiving it. I am a retired RN, and my significant other is a retired MD. We asked why ? We were told we can get it over the counter. I would have to take 4 tablets, instead of one. Ted, my significant other tried to reason with the manager as Chris would not return to communicate. Ted pointed out this was harder on the stomach. I told them I have been prescribed the Motrin before and it worked well. I was then told it was a placebo effect. I was also told that I seemed to have the money to buy it over the counter. My insurance which is Blue cross covers my medication with a zero co pay,but that bothered them too. They said they only offered Motrin 800 my prescription to patents who had Maine health. So now I am being penalized for having private insurance. My complaints are lack of communication, humiliating me, the way to dispense the medication was incorrect.We only asked for three pills and they would not do it. In fact they said to call my doctor in Florida at the CCH to get Motrin for a bug bite. I was there to get treated and an exam. I plan to call the state and make a formal complaint. This was my first urgent care experience and I was impressed overall. I broke my wrist and was able to get seen quickly for mulitiple xrays, pain meds and a referral. The cost was reasonable ($220) and the team, including Dr. Susan Parlin, went above and beyond in my opinion. read more

Visiting from out of state and began feeling awful. I was hesitant to visit here because of other reviews but my experience was nothing like others . Our receptionist was kind and helpful. Our nurses and Dr were very helpful and provided the care I needed. A great place !!! read more

This urgent care facility was clean and well run. When we arrived there was a very long line. We were told that it would be a 2 hour wait. My husband, a physician, was checked in, vitals taken by a well trained efficient nurse. The line moved quickly. Dr. Douglas Wood, MD was very professional and very friendly. He quickly diagnosed his problem. We were very impressed with this facility. read more

Took a PCR test yesterday at 8am. We were told within 72 hours we'd have results. Just got a call saying they have a "technological issue" and offered a refund. WTF? We have reservations in Quebec. The staff is great, it's not their fault. But I'm not a fan of @convenientMD. read more

Veterans Beware. Do not give your personal Debit card information. Their billing department is a nightmare and although when you go in they state they will bill the VA they attempt to automatically take money out of your account. They do not code services correctly and when this is an easy fix on their part they refuse. read more

To start off with, if I could give them a negative score, I would! While on vacation in Maine I unfortunately had to seek medical attention from this facility. The only person who, I would even begin to think, cared about my well being was the nurse who took my vitals and walked me to the patient room. The attending physician, T Canham, seemed completely removed from the conversation we had concerning my symptoms. I was suffering from severe sinus pressure, fever and chills. No COVID test was administered or even mentioned. I was told to go to the drug store, pick up some sudafed and if not better in 5 days to come back. Lucky for me, after receiving the bill for over $250, I did not go back but instead came home early to seek medical attention. This was, by far, the worst experiance I have ever had in an Urgent Care Practice. To top it off when I called to discuss the outrageous bill that I received, after speaking to two different individuals, I was transferred to a mailbox! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!!! read more

Our entire experience at ConvenientMD in Ellsworth was exceptional! The new facility, competent and professional staff, processes, technology use and fast Covid results through the portal were all excellent. No wait when I went. Friendly staff. But VERY expensive. I have a deductible on my insurance and a visit for tic removal and one dose of antibiotics was $275!!!! CRAZY. Will never go there again. Way too expensive. read more

Clean facility and friendly receptionist. P.A. wasn't very knowledgeable. Talked over me and didn't let me finish questions. In the summary there was a finding I wanted clarification on and she didn't know what it meant and made no attempt to get an answer. She was anxious to discharge me even though the lobby was empty. Rushed through. X-ray onsite and quick to get results a plus. read more

While I was in Maine for the summer I experienced a sudden muscle loss in my foot and my general practitioner at home wanted me to be seen locally and get some imaging done so the cause could be identified. The facility is new and clean. The physician assistant I saw was excellent. Although the spine X-ray showed no problems, she wanted me to be seen by a neurologist so further tests could be done. I discussed with the ConvenientMD staff two places where the would send a referral. C-MD said the neurologists offices would contact me on the next business day. Three days later, the neurologists to whom the referrals were to be sent had not received them. I called C-MD and learned that the referrals had not been sent and they had no record of where they should send them. Not good! Disappointing. read more

Went in to allay my fears that I had Lyme disease and the PA said of course not, but you possibly have a DVT and need to go to the emergency room right away and get an ultrasound. The ER staff tried to talk me out of the procedure as they didn't think my symptoms indicated a DVT, but once you get that in your head it's hard to get it out. So I went through with it. Obviously I was fine. So after 3 hours and what will probably be thousands of dollars I am pissed at the Convenient MD PA. So much so that I'm writing this review and I have only written on other review in my lifetime. Do not go to Convenient MD in Ellsworth unless you want to end up with a life threatening disease. read more
