What makes this Post Office unique is a drive-through window - however, according local residents the drive-through window has never actually been in operation. There are two mailboxes outside the building in the back. Both the fact that the drive-through window is not in use, though certainly a cool feature not seen every day, and that the mailboxes are at the back of the building and made for cars this Post Office gets a '3'. All in all, I was so impressed with each person I was in contact with for their friendliness and accurate, speedy help. There are tasteful murals along the back wall of the library featuring large Cardinal Birds. A welcome site in any season and especially in wintertime. Just behind the library is a 'Reading Park' with a large gazebo, several benches and a lawn under shade trees. Though there is no play set here it is a nice place to take children to play ball or read books. The library itself is on the small side but is packed with books. The librarians are very helpful and engaged. They have computer systems that are open to the public. You just need to sign up to use them.

The Henry Ford Centennial Library is a large, rectangular building…read more                 It is very imposing.  From Michigan Avenue there is a large entryway.  It is difficult to access it.  You need to drive around back and enter the building from there.                 It is finely designed and the white marble is striking in the sunlight or the rain.  It is very beautiful in the evening.  The interior is very interesting.  The entryway leads to a circular stairway which you must take if you are going to check out a book.  The checkout desk is on the second floor.  So is the reference desk.                 I didn't see the entire collection.  What I saw was a standard offering.  They have a LOT of books.  The building is as voluminous inside as you would expect after having it seen it from the outside.                 The clerks at the checkout desk were very happy to assist me.  I went to the Reference Desk and was also treated with respect and dignity - except for one clerk who we'll just assume was having a bad day.                 There is a fountain sculpture in the first floor lobby.  I caution you not to look at it while heading up the staircase or heading down the staircase.  Just thinking about it right now is making me dizzy - so think about it with caution too.  Otherwise it's a fine library.

It was clean and there were no opioid addicts or other such folk in sight, also worthy of 4 stars. They hold a twice or year Friends of Library booksale which is much smaller than advertised, but cute, and offers a nice (and brief) window into the alternate reality that is Downriver. You can't enter the lot from Southfield Rd (you need to pull around back).

Clean, neat, orderly and not a spec of dirt anywhere. 4) Employees: exceptionally friendly and welcoming. They're always glad to help you out. I don't know what kind of other things to talk about when it comes to mail. I walk in, drop my mail or a package off, I pay for it, I walk out and I'm good to go. My mail or package gets there early is a plus, but all in all I just need it to get there in a timely fashion or even if it's extremely backed up, I would just want the item to get there period.

Let me be the first to say that going to the post Office…read moreusually isn't a great experience. However, if all my business was done with clerk #9 I'd stay at the post office. I'm in town visiting family and wanted to mail some last minute items I found for my dad. We walked up with a flat rate box for two small bags of pistachios and he immediately said this isn't the best option, it's going to be too expensive. He helped us find the cheapest option to get them there fast then proceeded to find us a box to ship it in. Mind you, he was the only one working but not once did he rush Or dismiss us to get through the line faster. He was very friendly smooth and helpful. Honestly we walked out of there with a complete respect for him and his professionalism as well as his work ethic. Thank you clerk 9! (I'm sorry I don't remember his name)
