They are open and caring individuals with a strong sense of purpose. They are the core of community in Wayne. I really appreciate that they are helping families keep strong and safe in Wayne City, Michigan. My favorite times are when they have any public events. They participate wholeheartedly. Today at my visit to the Westland Secretary of State at approximately 4:25pm, I had been helped by Ms. Nalani who was at the front door greeting everybody with a smile. After speaking with Ms. Nalani I quickly realized she was unlike the other 3 SOS workers I had spoken with from the other nearby city's, she was not robotic and dull Ms. Nalani actually shown personally and a love for what she does. Ms. Nalani and I had a brief conversation that showed how much she cared about her work, also telling me how she enjoys being able to help and provide the state's services to people. Ms. Nalani had then stated that she could not only provide me with an appointment for my visit but she could schedule it that same day at 4:40pm. In my visit it was great to see a welcoming face and someone who isn't just a program but a person, who cares, and I will say Ms. Natali had not just made my appointment for 4:40pm, she had also made my day.

Absolutely appalled by the Westland Police Department. We were involved in a hit-and-run where…read moreanother driver--likely intoxicated or distracted--he was weaving in and out of traffic and cut in our lane abruptly and Brake checked us and unfortunately my mom slammed right into him. Instead of being a smart individual they decided to flee the scene, and totaled my mom's car. We could not identify the car because of completely tinted black windows and tinted license plate as well. Instead of Westland PD investigating properly, they gave my mom the ticket, wrongly accusing my mom of causing the accident. Even worse, they treated her--someone with mobility issues and a valid handicap placard--with complete disrespect and zero empathy. They couldn't even distinguish between a state ID and a driver's license, and were smug and unhelpful throughout. They kept accusing me of driving when I do not drive, you can literally scan my state ID and it says cannot drive till August 2025 because I have a history of non epileptic seizures. How can you not know the difference between a state ID and a driver's license? They impounded our car like they were proud of it, and now they're siding with the man who fled the scene. When we asked if they had camera evidence to prove their claim, they said no. Even the insurance company couldn't believe what was happening. We will absolutely be fighting this ticket. This department shows signs of incompetence, bias, and an alarming lack of accountability. It's no wonder they disabled reviews--they probably couldn't handle the well-deserved criticism. Shameful. They are sexist, misogynistic, racist, ableist, and all of the above. I understand why people want to defund the police. Westland Police Department is the most corrupted Police Department of Wayne county.

Lots of activities and fun things to do as well as a robust book collection. The book collection and the children's section are bolstered by an engaged, professional and helpful set of librarians and technicians who bring knowledge to life. I enjoy working at the tables as well as reading in the library. If there isn't a book you are looking for there - no worry! The librarians can summon a book from one of their many partner libraries - or even from any library in the entire State of Michigan by using MelCat!

Inkster City Hall is easy to navigate - once you know where you are going. The Tax Increment Finance Authority (TIFA) Meeting Room is spacious. It is put to good use for other community activities as well. The Inkster City Hall features several large meeting rooms. Each one is accoutered with large tables and plenty of comfortable chairs. The rooms are large enough to allow participants to move around during the work, either to exercise, mingle or perform side meetings. The grounds are kept neat and clean. Parking is adequate. There is additional parking available along side streets. The neighborhood is quiet. I especially like the fact that the building is located on a side street and not on a busy motorway. It makes it easy and pleasant to access. The feeling is very much small town with the advanced, modern, timeless architecture allowing the well deserved impression of accuracy, capability and security. Altogether a nice building to see and visit with grounds and a neighborhood nice for a walk.
