We got there and they claimed that due to a scheduling issue the only place they could seat us was an extremely dirty section of lawn furniture that had zero views of the garden, but a perfect view of the kitchen and everybody else being seated at tables. In our area they literally brushed off dirt and debris on stained cushions in front of us, and expected us to sit there in our white linens which visibly stained my partner's pants. It turned out there were a number of tables that were available. It felt like we were being isolated into a colored section as people of color. They then had the audacity to ask for a full price and a sizable tip for a really awful experience. A place to avoid. Does not make the green book.

I'll echo what most have said in other reviews. I bought ten 5-6' Green Emeralds last spring. The…read moregood: they were as advertised and were all about 5' (including root ball, so about 4' planted). Foliage was bright, fresh and full. They delivered and installed them. The bad: in hindsight it would probably be better if they just delivered and I installed them. Why? Because they only dug holes into the forest loam as big as needed to get the root balls in. I had plenty of new loam to use, but they barely used any. They didn't follow proper planting technique. At least if I had installed them I'd have dug bigger holes and filled them with good topsoil I had on hand. Don't worry about them not installing them as it won't help with a warranty claim should any die. Your better off knowing the job was done right. I have had some loss. Though I'm glad after reading other reviews here that so far I only lost 3 (30%) of my trees. Per instructions from the installer I watered them heavily. I had a soaker hose wrapped around each tree with a water dam and I ran that hose every day on a timer. I ran it up until the freezing weather forced me to put the hoses away. Within weeks of removing the hose 2 trees started wilting and browning. A 3rd died over the winter. Upon digging them out this spring I found the likely reason. The root balls on them were too small! probably 1/2 of the overall diameter of the foliage. There simply weren't enough roots to handle the size of tree. I ended up transplanting a couple of the other living trees to plug the holes left by the dead ones and what did I see? A more generously sized root ball on those survivors. Why were the root balls so small? I think I know the answer. I wondered how they could deliver and install the trees over such a wide delivery area for such a low cost. They make it work by doing volume. And by volume I mean they dig out the tree with the smallest root ball possible so that they can fit more trees on the installers trailer. Less root ball = less weight = more trees/installation stops per trip = higher margins. So if you do decide to get these trees do everything you can to ensure their survival. Buy in early spring, only accept trees with decent sized root balls, plant them yourself, water the living heck out of them ALL SEASON LONG, and wrap them up for the winter to minimize moisture loss. We've never had a complaint before, but, this year we, unfortunately, got charged for an 8 foot tree when ours turned out to be barely over 7 feet. I wasn't thinking about it when I paid for it until on the way home my husband was upset that I paid more and said there was no way that tree was 8 feet. When we set it up at home it's at least 4" from our less than 8 ft ceilings and that's in the tree stand that raises it a couple inches. So we paid $10 more for our tree. I don't know if that is a complaint about service since they hand you a little plastic slip that shows what to pay and I didn't see a color coded price sheet, and, it was partly my fault for having a conversation with the clerk while paying and not realizing the price was over what it should have been. They do a nice job of shaking trees, wrapping trees, helping put them in the car and have a nice "assembly line" for doing so. If White's are reading this, I would love it if you would put that extra $10 in the Camp TaKumTa jar. I have often supported that camp in memory of my little sister who died from leukemia. Thanks!

The 5 stars assumes you want to cut your own tree - if not, you may get a surprise when you find that there are not any precut trees. Bob and Joan White own the farm. When you arrive, they will ask you if you have a saw - you're greeted when you drive in. We didn't and they gave us a nice, sharp, easy to use saw. The trees are organized by type on the farm. If you don't know what type of tree you want, you can drive around or you can ask for suggestions. The pathways to drive through are farm ground, but well maintained, so there is no worries about getting stuck. I wanted a Frazier Fur tree (the best tree for looks and holding it's needles in my opinion. The best tree all around.) I asked for the Fraziers and was pointed to the left. We drove around looking. We found a good patch of trees and got out to walk. My wife spotted our tree. It was perfect. I cut 'er down. I could have put it on our vehicle, but I thought it best to take my prize and carry it back to the barn. At the barn, they shake the tree, wrap it and help put it on your car (we have an SUV) and tie it down. Inside you get free hot chocolate. We bought our 2010 ornament - hand made in Vermont - and some maple candies to share with out of state family. The people are nice and very helpful. This was a picturesque family day driving to the country to get our family Christmas tree.
