Just tried Cook Out's drive through yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised! Service was fast, and the selection of fixings for burgers was a notch above your average fast food joint. My burgers bun was pretty forgettable, but the meat itself was tasty and reminded me of backyard grilling as opposed to a McDonalds machine stamped grey burger. The shake I had was super think--to thick for a straw in fact, but the taste was excellent and definitely worth ordering again. Ventured into this little place to grab a late night bite. For the price and convenience of their closing time, I would say it didn't disappoint. I ordered the cook out 5 dollar deals. The chicken strips are really big and crispy . The hush puppies were somewhat dry but at 12 for 99 cents, it wasn't too bad! I liked the Cajun fries that we got, they were crispy and not too salty. Just left this cookout and the service here is terrible. I love the burgers here but the service from the young women here are absolutely terrible. I ordered a burger with fries and the young lady took it upon herself to make my order as she wanted and I did not ask for a plate. so she shorted me fries on my order. Do not order the bbq plate. The meat if it was meat is in the shape of an ice cream scoop, hardly any sauce, we still do not know what kind of meat it was. Will never eat here again. I got the chicken strips which were itty bitty. Onion rings. Only three came with my order AND they were the smallest part of the onion. Hush puppies were good and got more of them than anything else. I expected a bit more food if not larger pieces. And the staff were just stand offish. Usually you get asked what sauce you would like. The food is pretty cheap and decent for what you're paying. Better than a lot of fast food I've had of the years. The service is pretty fast too but the main reason for stopping here has to be the shakes. Went here for lunch and was very satisfied. It is very cheap for how much food you get, i got a cheeseburger fries hushpuppies and a shake for under $7. There burgers are very good, the sides are average and the milk shakes are awesome(very thick shakes) def recommend eating here for lunch versus other fast food places in the area. read more

The prices are great. The food is not so great. My husband and I and my mother in law ordered hamburgers we were not impressed. My father in law ordered the bbq plate and he said the meat was mush. Considering this is a fast food joint, it is actually really good! There are endless choices to choose from! There sweet tea is so refreshing, just the right about of sweetness. I had the fries, come slaw, and spicy chicken sandwich. My meal was really good, but I did not eat the coleslaw, due to them forgetting my fork! That would have to be my only complaint haha. I love cookout, we have several back in NC. However, every time I order from this on, something it's ALWAYS wrong. I'm the easiest person when it comes to a cheeseburger, all I want on my burgers is cheese. I just get sooooooooooo sick of always having a wrong order. Tonight was the last straw for me. As a pregnant woman, I wanted cheese fries and a float. By the time I got home (10 minutes away) I realized that there was no cheese on my fries, they were cold, and my float was more of a villain milkshake. (barely any soda in it and it was completely liquid) I'll probably never eat here again, which is sad because I love their food. (I'll just wait until the rare chance I'm in NC) read more

I was told that I couldn't do that, but I could substitute the fries for additional coleslaw or hushpuppies. I chose the extra coleslaw. But just to disappoint me a little bit more, they put one (1) - just one - piece of fried okra in my to-go box. Good food for good prices! The chicken quesadillas are excellent! Their burgers, hush puppies, and fries are good, too. They use spicy seasoning on their quesadillas and fries, so it may be a little hot for some, but I love it. My only recommendation (hopefully they read these) is that they need a canopy covering the drive-thru menu, so you don't get soaked while it's raining. The canopy at the drive-thru window is a little short, so you get soaked there, as well. But, all in all, I will go again. Been there about 7-10 times in the last couple months. read more
