Very rarely have I ever had a drive-through experience this great. THE best Cookout food, hands-down. We got the burger, onion rings, fries, hush puppies, cheeseballs, Dorito walking taco. All of it 10 out of 10. Sorry, but this has to be said. Starting off with a full list of 5 stars, Cook Out is open late when others aren't, has an extensive menu for most people in your party, and the pulled pork is way better than at any other fast food place. -3 stars because: the staff is not very friendly, and three times in the same weekend (we drink so we eat late, don't judge) we got attitude from the person taking orders. By attitude I mean for example that one time a person in my party very nicely asked "everything looks so good! What do you recommend?" (Because we're not from Georgia) and the girl let out a sigh and said "I don't know what you like, just order something." That's not enough for a full three stars, so when we got back to the hotel room, I realized my French fries were cooked in old oil and so I got sick later that night. The coleslaw on the bbq plate was dry, just cabbage basically. And even if the food hadn't made me sick, the burger was so dry I just decided not to eat it. read more

We were traveling on our way to NC and wanted a good burger. When we saw the food sign on the highway in Gainesville, we opted for Cook Out. When we got to the exit the sign said left 2 miles. We were still ok. But it all fell apart from there. First, the cookout wasn't even on the same road where we exited. We drove and drove and finally got to a big intersection in the right lane where it had a small sign on the right saying "Cook Out - turn left". Really? Stopped by this place to grab some comfort food for a gf and me. I was disappointed that I didn't see the foot long dogs. Maybe it's only at larger locations... Anywaysss... The mexi hot dog and bacon cheddar hot dog were both pretty good. The mexi dog would be my rec out of the two. The bacon cheddar one was good too since it was loaded with lots of bacon, but it was a tad salty imo since I'm not a bacon fan. The chicken nuggets were good, but they were sort of small. They were like a fusion of a Wendy's white meat and McDonald's crispy (only slightly) nugget. The cappuccino milkshake was pretty good and tasted creamy, not too icy or artificial. There were about 20 flavors to choose from so choose happily. Parking was extremely limited with about 10 spots or so (?). This is def a to-go joint. Even the inside seemed to be packed. Not a good experience. Ordered 2 identical meals. Hot dogs on one tray were burned/charred. Hot dogs on the other tray were warm outside and cold inside. French fries on both were cold, hard, no salt and could be tossed as rocks. The tea was the only part of the meal worth keeping. It gets old after a while, all fast food places would be better if you just tossed your money out the window while driving over. It would leave you equally satisfied. read more

Saturday afternoon. Went through the drive to order 3 milkshakes. I'm not sure why it's such a hard task to order milkshakes. If you have 40+ flavors on your menu, you should be familiar enough to answer basic questions about them. Knowing whether you're going to mix flavored syrup or fruit in the milkshake is basic. Two different people came over the intercom, both were rude and continued to rush the whole time. If they weren't so busy rushing and talking over us, they would have been able to hear. Waited in line for 45 minutes. Girlfriend really wanted Cook Out. After our 45 minute wait, the manager didn't acknowledge or speak to us when we got to the window, instead, she spoke with someone in front of us, asking when their sister worked at the store, and tried to give people hiring applications. When she finally spoke with us, she dropped my card on the ground, and proceeded to argue with someone over the phone. Once we finally got our food, both the drinks and food order was wrong. Okay so me and my friends LOVE cookout. We will normally drive half an hour just to go to cookout on an given night. The last couple times I have been through have been terrible. I couldn't understand the lady when she was taking my order and she just got more and more mad over the intercom. It was because she wasn't hitting the button long enough for me to hear what she was saying. But service can be hit or miss and people have bad days so whatever. Then I got to the window and it seemed to be fine, they weren't particularly friendly but also weren't as hostile as they previously were. So I get my food and leave. End of the story right? Nope. They filet on my chicken sandwich looked like it had been cut in half. The next day my friends surprised me with some cookout, not knowing the story. They knew I liked burgers and quesadillas from cookout, so they grabbed me a double burger tray and two chicken quesadillas. When I say the smallest burger "patty" was on the burger, I really mean there was a beef nugget with a bun on top. I check and someone had literally cut the patty in half to what was already a tiny patty. Okay so that's it right? Nope. The messed up almost all the condiments on the burgers that were give to our party of 5. Also I only got one chicken quesadilla and there was no chicken in the one they gave me. I have worked in fast food and even managed and I can honestly say nothing like this would've ever happened when I managed. That's not even me trying to be pompous or arrogant; It's me realizing that the restaurant I managed was at least competent. This is just one of the stories I have from this cookout. This cookout is maybe the worst fast food restaurant I have ever been to or heard stories about. This is probably one of the best Cook-Out location I have ever been too. The service was amazing and super fast for the amount of food we got. Nicole was extremely helpful considering my bf hadn't ever been to a Cook-Out before and she helped go through menu items. She smiled and laughed and in a business it shows proper etiquette when dealing with customers. You can tell the employees love their jobs and the atmosphere is extremely family friendly. One of the employees informed me it was a Christian run business and that's why they played a lot of Christian music. Later, I was craving a cherry Coke. And even though, it wasn't on the menu a really sweet girl, Emerald, offered to make one for me no questions asked. She was just another helpful and nice employee. The food like I said was perfect and so filling. But I was way more impressed with the staff. I highly Recommend dining in if the opportunity was there just to meet the staff. Tony the manager, later came to ask if there was anything they could do better. Which, I let him know the service was perfect but that I was more impressed with his staff. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! We eat here quite often and this didn't even happen to me but a customer in front of me. It was enough to make me reconsider my rating. He brought his burger up and said he asked for cheese and it wasn't on his burger. One of the girls came from the back and said they would not remake his order unless he paid 48cents to have cheese added. He was unsure if he was charged for it. They never looked to see if he was charged. He took his burger back and ate it as is. This store needs to learn customer service. I almost took my party and walked across to mc Donald's due to this type of customer service. The food wasn't that great either today so maybe they need to reconsider their staff. My fries were cold and hardly and condiments on the burgers. When asked for a name of the girls name they were reluctant to give it to me.
