I arrived at 11:15pm on Thursday evening. I was in the drive thru initially but parked and walked up because there wasn't a wait for walk up. When I walked up, the staff member closed the window and proceeded to prepare and bag another order. When she finished, she gave the people waiting their order and closed the window back. She didn't say anything to me... very rude. While looking inside, the floor was dirty. In my opinion, there were so many workers present for it not to be more tidy than it was... Another lady came to the window and took my order about 1-2 mins later. She was friendly and helpful. I got my usual order, which was big double burger with cheese, bacon, and bbq sauce with hush puppies and Cajun fries. I received my food less than 5 minutes later but it felt like forever since it was cold and windy. My food was hot, fresh, and delicious. Aye this last night and it was so terrible. Nuggets were cold, fries hard. The tea wasn't as sweet as it usually is, so disappointed.

If I want fast-food and I want a lot for my buck, I always go to Cook Out and get a Cookout Tray. You get a main protein (hamburger, BBQ, hot dogs quesadilla, or chicken sandwich plus two sides and a drink for like $5. And the sides are not just the standards of fries or onion rings, you can get a corndog, chicken nuggets, hushpuppies, or a wrap for example. You can also upgrade to shake for your beverage or a specialty "style" protein for very cheap. So much food! My husband and I tend to split the tray if not going for full-on indulgence. I tend to get the Cheddar Style burger (cheddar cheese, bacon, grilled onions, mayo) and like to mix up my sides. On my last drive-thru visit I got Hush puppies (my most common choice as they are delicious- nice and crispy on outside and soft inside) and Cajun fries. They are happy to supply ketchup and honey mustard on request. I am not a big soda person, so I always go for the shake upgrade. My husband religiously orders the Caramel Fudge shake, while I like to mix that up too. This time I got Chocolate Chip Mint. I also like Cheesecake, Heath Toffee, and Chocolate Nut. Their shakes are super filling, nice and thick. Sometimes they don't do a good job of spreading out the inclusions throughout. One cannot (should not) eat Cook Out often, yes the food is greasy, heavy, and fattening but it's supposed to be. Not much to say, great fast food and super cheap. Superior milkshakes. The best meal combo deal probably on the east coast. Corn dogs are considered "side items", so you can absolutely get a double cheeseburger and two corn dogs as part of the combo. You'll find all these things at pretty much any Cook-Out location, this one is not an exception to that. Though I have found at this location, the quality of the service can vary wildly, and there seems to be a recurring problem of getting orders wrong in some way. This is a popular late night location for anyone going out in downtown Greensboro. Though in my experience, this location just stays constantly busy. Expect long lines at lunch, and then again starting at the dinner hour and going until late on Friday or Saturday nights. Tried their Spicy, Crispy Sandwich which I thought was better than the same sandwich at Wendy's, and I like that sandwich. The Double Cheeseburger with L, T, & Mayo was very good, better than most such burgers at fast food restaurants. The Hot Dog was good, once the rather strong, probably old chopped onions were disposed of. FFs were as good as usual. When it comes to fast food in this area, I'll take Cook Out over any of the other burger joints any day. The burgers are made fresh when you order, with fresh toppings, they haven't been sitting around under heat lamps for who knows how long before they are sold. There are other options on the menu besides burgers which are all pretty awesome like the grilled chicken sandwiches, the grilled hot dogs & even though they do not cook their own BBQ, it is really good... & don't forget the 30 or so flavors of milkshakes they offer like choco-cherry, chocolate chip mint, peanutbutter fudge or banana just to name a few of my favorites. For me Cook Out food is worthy of 5 stars in the "fast food" category, but I can only give this location 3 stars because of the number of times my orders have been shorted items or incorrect. This location is the closest to my home so it's the one I visit the most, I've found from previous experiences at this location that it is wise to double check your order before you pull away from the window or you may be setting yourself up for heartache when you get down the road & realize your fries are MIA or the Huge Cheeseburger you ordered somehow became a BLT. read more

This had to be one of the worst days of my life. I was late to class because I ran out of gas and I was angry. I decided to skip breakfast this day because I was already running late. After I made it to class and got out, I was hungry and ready to eat. I had planned on meeting a friend later so I didn't really have time to sit and eat anywhere. I decided to stop and get some fast food, cookout was the winner for the day. When I pulled into the parking lot I already knew it was going to be a quick stop, or so I thought. Pulling up to the speaker I had to be sitting there for a whole 2 minutes before someone even acknowledged that I was there. When someone finally did greet me, it was to tell me that they would be with me in a few. I instantly became upset because I had already been waiting for a few. I didn't think they had enough cars to be moving as slow as they were. So after the order taker came back and asked what I wanted I was already ready to order. I started to place my order and was interrupted by the order taker. He tells me that they are out of the first thing I wanted. I kindly tell him that it was fine and to just give me the rest of my order. He tells me to pull up for my total and I pull up. As soon as I pulled to the window, someone stuck their hand out for the money and I kindly asked what my total was. I immediately sensed an attitude but by this time I was ready to get my food and leave. I handed the girl my card and she shoved the food out the window.
