I have been wanting to try this place out and finally got the chance! The workers were very friendly and helped walk me through the menu since it was my first time. After ordering, it took maybe 5 minutes to get our food which felt decent for the fresh food! There was a steady flow of to-go orders so it seems to be a popular spot. I ordered the Popper Topper Burger, although I do get the jalapeños on the side. I was expecting a little bit more to be honest. It was cheesy and delicious, but the patty itself was lacking any flavor. This was shocking because the menu described it to be "Cajun seasoned" but it felt very plain. The fries were my favorite part by far!!! Unlike other places, this had plenty of toppings. Normally, once you eat the top layer the underside is dry. Not here! This location of Big Burger Spot is tucked away by a dingy looking gas station, in a parking lot you'll almost miss as you drive past the adjacent Walmart entrance. While the exterior is a far cry from the "vibrant patio" the restaurant description promises, the interior opens into a clean, bright space, which is more spacious than one might expect. On the front counter you will see an artistically designed menu board, depicting the many creative offerings available here. When I invited my coworkers to join me here for lunch, 2 immediately began ardently affirming my choice, regretful they could not join me but promising I would love it. In this moment, vague memories of them talking about this "really good burger place at the gas station" for months on end began to come back to me, as I realized they had been indirectly recommending it for a while. On the other hand, my 3rd coworker, who was in a separate room and had not heard their high praises, told me that it was "overrated" and "fine but not that special." Lol. Needless to say, I had absolutely no idea what to make of it all when I arrived. When I walked in, the woman behind the counter asked if I had ever been there, before patiently walking me through the various sections of the menu and helping me pick something out. I settled on the Popper Topper, which promised Cajun spices and fried jalapeño coins, among other various toppings. At its smallest size (big), it only cost $10.99. I also ordered bacon and cheddar fries. My initial impressions upon receiving my food (quite quickly, I might add) is that 1) the restaurant's name is perfect and 2) this is a very good quantity per dollar and an absolutely absurd calorie per dollar meal, especially in 2025. For right at $20, I got a huge burger and enough fries to satiate 2-3 people. I cannot fathom what the larger burger sizes look like, much less who could possibly be ordering them. The fries were everything I could have asked for -- crispy, salty, and with a very generous amount of both cheddar sauce and bacon (the perfect amount to have sauce on every bite but not be soggy). The burger was good, and definitely satisfied that primal craving for salt and fat that we all carry with us from hunter-gatherer days gone by. However, I wouldn't say it was particularly spicy, nor did its flavor deviate significantly from any generic burger I could order. Don't get me wrong, it was still delicious, but I was a little disappointed. I think that the fried jalapeño coins are breaded a little on the thicker side, which somewhat mutes the spice and slight acidity that they would otherwise add to this dish, to help cut through and brighten the other flavors. All in all, I had a great meal and would totally come back, but I don't think I've tried the "perfect" burger from here yet. Definitely going to recommend this to anyone in the area. read more

I was once again in the mood for a great cheeseburger so I headed to the Big Burger Spot on Battleground. I arrived after the lunch rest so l was able to place my order immediately and had a choice of tables. Because of many takeout orders is was about 10 minutes before my order was ready. I was surprised to see that the empty tables were not cleaned. When my order was ready it looked good and the cheese fries were. But the cheeseburger was not. In fact I didn't finish it. They have a tuna sandwich which is an enormous piece of fish blackened or grilled . The fry plates have a plenty of different ways to enjoy . The staff is always pleasant no matter how busy it is. My sister and I are celiac. We stopped at BBS as they have GF buns. We were from Georgia visiting relatives in Greensboro. We were so delighted with the taste, quality and service. This was one of the best burgers we have ever had and certainly the best GF bun we have eaten. The bun actually tasted like a southern biscuit to me. There was a little sweetness to it and certainly didn't taste like cardboard as most do. We went away wondering why every business can't have GF buns like this. We arrived right before they opened to avoid a wait, which was smart as the restaurant got busy pretty quickly. This was our second experience here. The first experience for me was meh and my husband loved his burger. So this time I decided to go simple and I ordered the classic burger with grilled onions. My husband ordered the pimento burger. We also ordered the white truffle and Parmesan fries to share, with ranch, sriracha ketchup, and burger spot sauce. The fries were big and the truffle oil and park was a great touch! All the sauces were yummy, my favorite was the ranch because it is obviously made in house. My burger was good but nothing too special, the pimento burger had good flavor but the cheese wasn't melted at all. I think had it been melted it would have been much better. The burgers are so big that neither of us could finish ours! Overall the food was good but underwhelming. I wish I could do half stars, but we cannot so 4 it is... Burger was cooked to a perfect medium, with plenty of toppings and seasoning. No additional sauce or seasonings needed. Fries also were very tasty (though I wouldn't mind more garlic). Shake was also very good, definitely better than Cookout, and almost as good as Culver's. I sampled Clint's onion rings, which were also well-seasoned and cooked properly. The attached dog-friendly picnic area with puppy murals was cool, too, though the tables could use some fresh paint. Food is pricey for what was given, I ordered a BLT and it was pitiful the way it looked and the bread hardly toasted and no condiments at all on it. If I could give this place a -10 stars I would. This place use to be very good, now it it horrible regardless of the sanitation grade. I ALWAYS check the sanitation grade before I eat t a restaurant and normally they live up to their grade. Well 2 days ago I order 1 Turkey Burger and it was totally too greasy AND it had HAIR in it. When I ordered I advised that I was allergic to beef and pork, they cooked my 1st burger on the grill WITH the beef burgers. I had to ask for another burger to be cooked AWAY from the other food. I should have just turned around and left. Well, they cooked me another burger and it was soggy with grease. I was about to eat it but it had HAIR in it. I took it back and I still haven't rece8ved my refund. They also wanted to charge me for the drink that I got with the burger. I had to say "Are you not going to give me a full refund for my inconvenience?" Although she did, the refund receipt only shows the drink refund, not the Burger. Hate to have to write this but this restaurant has gone downhill. I get that things are more expensive but the quality has slipped as the price has risen. Not a great combo. For one example, I know it's a burger and sandwich place but the brownies used to be made from scratch quality. Now they charge $5.50 for one and they're worse than something from a mix. Used to be half that price for the best brownie in town. That was as recent as a year ago. The chicken sandwich is $10 and it's a grilled chicken breast on a bun. Always a safe bet... the reviews aren't a coincidence! The ranch fries with bacon are one of my favorites but they would be over the top with cheese added. I would suggest always picking one of their standard creations rather than making your own burger. It will be good but their pairings are on the menu for a reason. Big Burger Spot really hit the spot last night! We did not want to leave the house but really wanted a big hearty burger. I had never tried BBS! So glad we did. We ordered the Bacon Cheddar Fries to share. The portion is gigantic, and so delicious. The fries were hot and well seasoned the cheese sauce and bacon were amazing. We had a Carolina style burger and the Bacon and Blue burger. Both of these were wonderful. The toppings are great and they really are huge burgers.
