Not swayed by the bad reviews, I wanted to try this place out. It sounded like burgers and shakes made like five guys. Not entirely true. The first thing I noticed was there were only like 5 massive round tables in the place. I assume they don't get a lot of dine-in customers, but I would expect that could be an issue when they do. I looked at the menu and ordered a small cheeseburger, Cajun fries, and a pineapple shake. I asked for the fries to be "like, extra extra extra crispy" because I hate limp fries everyone seems to be pushing these days. After I ordered, I noticed there was another menu off to the side with a way better deal for the same things I ordered. I would have liked for the guy working the register to automatically fix that for me. I ended up paying around $5 more because I'd never been there before and didn't pay attention. I saw they had Cheerwine and was pretty excited for that, as no one I know of in Ohio has it in a restaurant. Unfortunately, I gave up pop for lent, so I didn't have any. The burger was good and fresh, though tiny. The fries were not crispy enough, but the cook was nice enough to ask if they were fine and I didn't have the heart to tell him no. The shake was fantastic! I wish I could have drank it all, but I was so full from water and the food. These guys deserve a 3, but I gave them a 4 because the cook was super nice. read more

I went through the drive through and all the food was correct and amazing. The sweet tea had the right amount of sweetness and flavor. The cheese bites were crispy on the outside and the cheese had the right amount of cheese pull. The bbq sandwich had the right amount of bbq and coleslaw on top. The corn dog could have been fried a little longer for my taste but it was good. read more

I was going through the line about 11:15pm and I don't know who it was but he had a rude attitude with me saying "is that all" after I just asked for a drink and he said it multiple times while going through the line then he said "if that's all you can pull up" they have the worst customer service!! Also would not give me a total until at the window. This was the first Cook Out I ever visited, and it's still delicious. I used to live in the area, and when this place opened, you could not get in! It's still packed quite often. It's also one of the few Cook Outs where you can sit inside. The milkshakes are delicious. I was in town for the Darlington Marathon and the first thing I wanted after my marathon was a milkshake, and Cook Out delivered. I highly recommend the M&M milkshake. Worst location there is. I have tried to eat at this location several times as I'm from the area but EVERY SINGLE TIME they get the order wrong. EVERY TIME. I typically like their onion rings but today they looked like someone had already eaten them and spit them back out. Disgusting. Then got an attitude when I asked them to replace them. A milkshake is a simple thing. Ice cream, milk, and a straw. Cookout made milkshakes that are so good and thick that it doesn't give you that feeling that it's really rich or too sweet. It may wear you out while you attempt to use a straw and eventually you give up and pick up a spoon. The vanilla shake can not be made any better. I don't know if they have a kobe beef cow back there for the milkshakes or what, but there is no better place in the world to get a milkshake than Cookout, and if you don't like vanilla they have chocolate, and straw Berry, cheesecake, strawberry cheesecake, and about a billion other flavors. Cook Out is a regional fast food chain. It's questionably cheap but has surprisingly good food, and I'd go here over any other burger chain in the area. Their box deals are really steals at~$5 and come with your choice of burger or grilled chicken, two sides, and a 1/2 gallon soft drink / tea. Sides include fries, hush puppies, quesadillas, bacon wraps (literally bacon + cheese in a tortilla...nice) and a few other options. It actually is possible to eat healthy here, too, which isn't always easy at a fast food chain, especially a southern one. read more

We have been here twice and we have been pleased. The burgers were good for a fast food place. The prices are great. We tried the milkshake and loved them. They were very thick so you will want a spoon. We had the peanut butter banana & loved it. Staff is friendly & the restaurant is pretty clean. read more

Not very busy, which was good for me! Hard to understand the person in the drive though. Kept cutting me off. Thinking not busy they would have taken a little bit of time. This used to be my go-to place for lunch. When it first opened it was fantastic. Decent food, good value. But recently something seems to have happened. I have been there 3 times in the past 12 days, and each time the drive through got my order wrong. On returning, there is no "sorry" or any acceptance on their behalf. Even when dropping a $5 bill out the window was followed with a "It's there on the ground." Not oops, sorry, just a "it's there on the ground." And in my rush to keep it from blowing away....I neglected to check on my once again incorrect order. The value is good, and so is the food. If you get what you ordered. Which, in my last 3 visits....is about a zero percent likelihood. read more
