The service was isanely horrible the cashier must've had a horrible life cause they came to the register already nasty. I got a bunch of stuff. Ordered corn dogs which are disgustingly burnt and i asked if they had anything but burnt and was given two more which were worse when the first one when i asked if they had any not burnt i was told i can't do anything about it. Stopped in on my way to Charleston just now. I had never been to a Cookout before. Walking in the cashier was immediately welcoming and so pleasant (I wish I had gotten her name). I asked her what she recommended. She led me in the right direction. Everything I ordered was freshly made, hot, and delicious! Every worker in there was pleasant and accommodating. Even had another lady ask me if I wanted a shake that someone in the drive thru no longer wanted. Win! Win! Thank you for a great experience today and friendly people. Wow. Five stars. Now we know what all the signs up and down I 95 are for and what all of the hubbub is about this place. It's very good. This is a place where you get a lot to eat for a reasonable price and it's a very reasonable price. Basically, it's a burgers and fries type joint. Foods are fresh and tasty. It's a great place for a big family to stop for a lot to eat. Entrées come wrapped in foil if they're burgers with onion rings, and fries and other things on the side. Because it can get messy, they have an external sink in the lobby where you can wash your hands and wipe them down before and after eating. Nice touch. Try the soft serve - it is phenomenal and tasty and better than anything you'll find the DQ or the other fast food joints The staff is on the ball -- a rarity these days in the fast food business. Some Cook Out restaurants are great, but this location is NOT. (Coming off I-95? Do yourself a favor and drive on. Plenty of other fast food choices in Manning that won't ruin your day.) My visit to Cookout on 4/5 might take the title for All-Time Worst Fast Food Customer Service Experience In My Entire Life. The cashier working the inside front counter is doing a major disservice to this establishment. This specific employee has been NAMED here in MULTIPLE COMPLAINT reviews dated at least 8 MONTHS AGO. This is clearly not just a one-off situation or an employee "having a bad day." This public-facing attitude and behavior is off-the-charts gross, but it seems Cook Out has ZERO interest in taking steps to correct a problem. That, in itself, speaks volumes. (I've attempted to reach out to corporate by website contact, by Facebook Messenger, and by asking for a direct email address to send photos. I've specifically asked NOT to speak to an 800-number, but a canned answer with 800-number is exactly how they've replied in each case. What a shamefully poor reflection on their supposed commitment to customer service. Please consider that I'd much rather have had the chance to address and resolve this privately first.) Placed two orders, both were wrong. Folks in line behind us got their order wrong, too. The brunt of the problems rests squarely on the cashier, who seemed to be both incredibly rushed - to the point of confusing the kitchen staff - as well as exceptionally careless. The hostility radiating off this employee is nearly palpable, and every customer interaction I witnessed (four, after my own) was rude, hurried, and full of contempt. I was chastised by Cashier for using the wrong terminology ("all the way") regarding toppings on a burger. Cashier walked away as I was speaking my order, resulting in the wrong item being rung up when she returned. Unprompted, Cashier yelled "GREEN BUTTON! GREEN BUTTON! GREEN BUTTON!" at my husband during the card transaction. (Apparently he was taking too long determining which button to push for credit versus debit.) The sweet / unsweet tea containers are not labeled, so I stepped forward to ask Cashier which container was sweet. I received an unsavory level of snark that suggested I must be an actual idiot for not telepathically knowing that sweet tea lives in the taller container. When I realized Cashier rang up the wrong burger, I mentioned the error to another employee. He brought a replacement burger, case closed. Cashier then steps in to demand, loudly, that I must give that wrong burger back, and - I kid you not - seemed to enjoy creating a scene over it. Rather than apologizing for her mistake or even for wasting our time, Cashier insolently insisted she must retrieve that burger. Her hands - which had recently touched the register and the microphone - were now on my food bags. Mercifully, Cashier remembered at least one basic food safety protocol and proclaimed, instead, that it was MY responsibility to dig to the bottom of the bag and hand the burger over to her. This employee's insufferable attitude is actively driving customers away, and she seems to take a strangely sarcastic satisfaction in doing so. The food? Equally as disappointing once we got home. Husband ordered two Regular burgers "all the way" and he purposely added "no chili." Cashier rang it up as Cook Out Style, No Chili. Both burgers had chili. He can't eat chili, so they were wasted. Tiny chicken breasts, soggy buns, wilted lettuce. Pathetic $4 Cheddar Bites portion is enough to fit in the palm of one hand. Sixty dollars and 20 minutes, total cost. The experience itself left such a bad taste in my mouth, much of the food went straight to the trash. Quick clarification: the last time we ate here - a few months ago - we had exceptionally bad service from a different counter cashier. This current visit was intended as a do-over, hoping the restaurant would redeem itself. Hard to believe, but it got worse. Obviously, we won't be supporting this business again. read more

The staff was so friendly and patient. I have never seen that at any fast food restaurants. The menu had a variety of options, which was helpful. The quality just wasn't the best. It reminded me of a school lunch, but for the price and speediness, this is a good option if you need a quick meal. It populated in our search for bbq in the area since most traditional bbq spots were closed that day, so of course we were disappointed in the food itself. But id recommend the staff all the way!! Well, we were hungry and saw the signs on the road and decided to stop. The cashier was in training and working hard. It didn't take long for our number to be called for our order. The chicken strips were hard and had no flavor. The chili on the hamburger was to spicey and tasted burnt. My small hamburger tasted like burnt charcoal, and the bun had black from the grill on it. The restaurant was clean and not noisy. It was comfortable for a fast food stop. The hushpuppies were good. I will not return. I dumped the food outside for the cat in the grass. There were only three parties on the inside, but the drive thru was a long line. Still, attention to those who walk in to your facility should be just as important. We stopped here for lunch on a road trip. This seems to be the highest rated cookout song 95 between northern Virginia and Georgia. Well deserved ratings! Even though they were packed (drive through and walk up options only available for now) the service was fast, the food was fresh and delicious and we were back on the road in no time. The husband said he wanted to try the cookout that it smelled so good. So we walked in, there was another couple standing in front of us for a while. No one would come to take their order. They finally left. My husband could see the cashier was standing just around the corner on his phone and ignored them. He kept looking around the corner at the customers but would not come to take their order. That should have been our cue to leave also. We approach the register and stand there. A guy slowly walks up and just stares at me for several seconds. He doesn't ask me what I want. It was very awkward. So I just start ordering and he is typing in what I want. He never engages or asks if there is anything else. He just stares blankly at us. I quickly realize that I need to carry the conversation. So I say to my husband, what would you like to have since the cashier would not engage with us at all. My husband asked him a few questions since had never eaten at the cookout before. The guy just looks at him, wouldn't even answer him. The cashier totally did not care. At his point my husband is very upset at the way we were being treated. He lost it and told the guy how rude he is. And we left. I have since read reviews with similar experiences with other customers that has happened in the past few moths. While road tripping back home on Christmas break we stopped at this Cook Out. I had been to cookout once before and knew I wanted to stop here when I saw it while driving! I got a Jr. plate w/ a quesadilla, hush puppies and onion rings. My boyfriend got a Cajun sandwich place with cheese curds and a quesadilla. The food came out quickly, fresh and was hot. It was serves in a styrofoam to-go container. Food was delicious and the sandwich bun was fresh. The location was clean, staff was friendly and service was great. You will not find a Cook Out in Florida so my family loves to stop by whenever we travel. It's all fried food and about as unhealthy as you can get but their concept draws people in. The service at this location was good and the restaurant was clean. For $4.99 and up you pick from a long list of items that they assemble as a tray. My tray had a spicy chicken sandwich, cheese quesadilla, chicken wrap, french fries and a Dasani. It's a ridiculous amount of food all cooked to order and served piping hot. For me it's impossible to scarf it all down but I try to keep up for fun. The younger generation have an advantage with their high metabolism and thirst for a real bargain. Their menu is long with additional items like milkshakes, hotdogs, endless burgers, chicken, cheese fries, onion rings and tons more to choose from. read more

We arrived during a late afternoon rush. Kamora greeted everyone with a huge smile. In spite of being extremely busy running around restocking things, getting items for customers, taking orders etc, she maintained that smile and treated all of the customers so politely. Her customer service was fantastic. I know that people in FF restaurants don't get a lot of acknowledgement or positive feedback, so I wanted to make sure to mention her so she can get the recognition she deserves! The shakes are good but we waited 40 minutes to get two shakes at this location and one of the cups was only 1/2 full. About 8 folks running around in circles in the back while a long line of people wait to order and get their food. And the long line was because they are so slow. They were not even that busy. I was fortunate enough to discover Cookout for the first time earlier this year in Myrtle Beach, SC. Cookout is great. The food is great and cheap. After traveling back from Jacksonville, FL we saw the signs for Cookout on 95 and the lunch decision was made. I really enjoyed my burger, hush puppies and onion rings. The food came out fast and fresh. Compared to other fast food restaurants Cookout is superior is almost every way. I also ordered a milkshake. The shakes are super thick but so good. Burger with grilled onions and bacon slathered in Mayo and some other sauce. Because their inside is closed and locked I couldn't go in and get it fixed and the drive through was packed with cars so I wasn't going to go back through. Threw the burger away. Great for what it is! A quick fast food stop. It is our first time ever trying Cook Out (we are from California). It did take a couple minutes to order because we had no idea what the menu was - I would recommend not going through the drive thru the first time.
