Stopped because of sign on hwy. Was pretty full inside and some came in just after us to do to-go orders. Only 2 workers at first. Was slow to take order. Ordered Ruben and burger. Took quite a bit to get food and drinks didn't come until after our food after we had to ask for them. Ruben was very good (flattened and skinny though) came with very small container of crab pasta salad that was good too. The burger was more of a slider on a large bun. Did not come with what we asked on it and side was wrong too. Not sure if we would stop again. read more

The billboard sold us. It showed a sandwich stacked with a good inch of meat, and the Yelp reviews backed it up, so we figured we'd give it a try. We mobile-ordered the Bronx Bomber (hot pastrami and corned beef) and a chicken salad wrap. When we arrived to pick up, we found out they were out of corned beef. We said to just go ahead and sub pastrami for it -- fine. What we actually got was two slices of pastrami, total. The sandwich was so skinny they have no business calling themselves a deli. Found this place we quaint, it's not a large deli for inside seating. I had the Cuban restaurant the place seems to be steadily busy, which is good by the Local. I had the Cuban sandwich and potato salad. 7 out of 10 for food, quality, and quantity. When we normally go through Santee SC, we have stopped by Craig's Deli. It's normally a great place to grab a sandwich. Stopped by there this weekend and it was the worst restaurant experience we've ever had. Called in the order 20 min ahead and still waited over an hour when we got there just to get the most horribly made food and wrong food at that. We ended up throwing most of it out and called back to log a complaint and that was the best part of the situation. The employee on the phone was apologetic and said we would get a full refund. Fast forward, still no refund so we called back today and had an extremely rude lady and I use that term "lady" loosely who acted like she knew nothing about the incident. Come to find out she is the owner and had the worst attitude. We then explained what happened and bottom line, she rudely said she was not going to do anything about it, no refund even though we were promised that by her employee, no future credit.......zilch We highly recommended avoiding Craig's Deli in Santee SC. read more

Quick, quality deli along your road trip! I had the French Dip and it was great. It's not very trendy in style, but hits at classic Americana vibe. The service was fast for the lunch rush, and everything came out hot and fresh. I love hitting unique roadside spots over chain fast food. I saw many locals coming in for take-outs. I got the pork chops deep fried with Brussels spouted covered in teriyaki and well cooked with a lil black on them how I love it with fries two beers and and amazing cheese cake crème brûlée and let me tell you for lunch it was phenomenal.... Coming back from Fla. we decided on a sub sandwich and saw the reviews. My Wife had the Italian sub and it was good and fresh. I had a Reuben and it had one thin slice of meat, a teaspoon of Sauer Kraut, the bread was toasted to a dark brown and the whole sandwich was about 3/4" including bread, not the best I've had and for almost $15 for each sandwich, I am used to stacked corn beef of at least one inch where I have them at the same price. I should have taken a picture of my sandwich. The staff was friendly, and bathrooms were clean. But we will take a pass on them in the future. read more

I had very high hopes... I come from a land where the word "deli" means something a bit different. This place is a diner more than a deli. I ordered the pastrami sandwich and asked for Swiss cheese be included. The sandwich was ok but came out with American cheese which I'd rather nome if no Swiss. There was way too much mustard... The chicken noodle soup was very tasty. Yes, I'm being nitpicky but again, had high hopes in this local sea of junky fast food chains. Stopped in Santee for gas and to walk the dogs on the long drive back to NY and needed to grab some lunch. Not wanting the same crappy fast food we eagerly went in to try this spot out. The sandwiches are really good and everything was fresh. Cute little spot inside with tables to eat, nice clean bathrooms, and fast friendly service make this a really nice alternative to the fast food chains surrounding it. Give it a try! read more

While the young wait staff wasn't overly friendly, we enjoyed stopping at a deli instead of fast food. I had the Cuban, which is served with Turkey instead of roasted pork, but I prefer it this way. The pickles would have been better as dill slices not big spears, but loved that it was hot, cheese melted and the bread was toasted/smashed to perfection! Hubby had the hot pastrami on rye. My husband and I stopped at Craig's Place Cafe and Deli on our way home from Savannah. It was phenomenal! I ordered the green machine with deli mustard added, and a side of chips and crab salad. My husband ordered the ATB sandwich with a side of potato salad and another side of crab salad. The sandwiches had a good bit of meat with great flavors. The side of pickles were tasty as well. The crab salad was delicious, with the perfect amount of mayo. We called in our order, and it wasn't quite ready when we got there, but the staff were so friendly. I had an overstuffed Bronx Bomber (Hot Pastrami AND corned beef) because I couldn't make up my mind between a Rueben or Hot Pastrami. My wife had the Rueben. Both on toasted rye.
