I went here on 2/18/2025. I got a chicken sandwich combo the grilled chicken sandwich was good. I think that they might need to keep a eye on it when cooking the edge of mine had a little burn on it other than that the food was good. I got fries and onion rings and a cheer wine soda to drink.

My first experience there was horrible. I found hair in my food and the manager would not refund me my money nor did he want to talk abt the situation. He hung up on me when I called and when I went up to the location he went to the back. After 10-15min I had to ask for him again and when he finally came bk to the front he totally disregarded me . Telling me he had nothing to do with that situation because it wasnt his shift. That he has other customers that he has to take care of like I wasnt a paying customer. I just wanted to be acknowledged abt the situation and at least receive my money back. The long piece of hair strand was inside of my mouth as if that wasnt detrimental. No accountability at this location. No one practicing good hygiene or wearing the proper head wear to prevent hair from falling into the food. This is a rachette location. Once I posted my video on Tiktok because I was being ignored, one girl from the Cook Out was stalking my page. Its horrible.

After a long drive from IND and arriving! I searched for best burgers and this was highly rated! The regular single Original style was perfectly cooked as it was so juicy, tender...drop the mic! Fast food burger with an inexpensive price. This included not one but two side choice and drink. I had to try the delicious crispy cajun fries! I did not expect the White Cheddar Cheese bites to be filled with so much cheesy and perfectly crispy!!

Let's keep this one simple. 2nd time here. Not impressed. This place is Overhyped to the MAX. 1st off. The bun taste like the most basic bread ever. Literally when my tongue hit the bread I jerked my head back....It's that basic.... Once you get past that, the patties are super small and the toppings are cut too thick. Tomato is too thick, onion was maybe 2/8 of an inch thick and pickles cut lengthwise. It's more juice than a BK burger.... This is no lie, but you can grill a burger at home and it would be better than this. Fries aren't so bad and the white cheddar bites were tasty! Staff was friendly! Drive Thru employee smiled, offered me to try all their sauces and service was fast! They do offer Hidden Valley Ranch in small containers which I thought was cool. They also have a tasty Buffalo and Polynesian sauce. The Cookout sauce I can tell taste great with chicken.... Prices are the selling point. For a "Combo" known as a tray bill was around $5 and change. That was including a drink, and 2 patties on a burger. Cheddar bites added about an extra $2 for a total of $7.12.... Not bad at all! I think the entire State of NC just needs to stop with the food game. GA has that on lock. Every food place I've been to with roots in NC is a wash and Cookout is one of them....Sry.

Food was good. Customer service was smooth. The lady didn't charge me extra for condiments. My corn dog tasted like the fair ones. My chicken wrap was crispy and hot. But my burger......... was ......... atrocious. Just look at the picture and tell me what's wrong.

My hubby wanted to finally try this place recently when I was ordering from Magnolia Room across the street. He's definitely more of a burger guy, so this seemed to be a better option for him. We pulled through the drive-thru - no trouble ordering, the line moved quickly, and the worker was patient with us while we decided what to get. It was around dinner time on a Thursday evening. My love decided to get a double cheeseburger with Cajun fries, onion rings, and a shake with chocolate chip cheesecake, Oreo, and coffee added in. I decided to try the cheese curds as an appetizer for my meal. The worker at the window was super nice and friendly. Everything came out promptly and tasted fresh, was cooked thoroughly but not overdone and seemed to be in good order. My guy said the burger was okay. He got it with the works on it, but he said he might explore some of their other options next time - maybe try another burger or meal. He said it was better than the one he had from The Varsity before though. The onion rings and fries were good - standard, but good. The best item was probably the cheese curds - great flavor and cooked to perfection. Our least favorite (but still an okay item) was the shake. It had too many chocolate chunks in it from the chocolate chip cheesecake topping and seriously lacked cheesecake flavor. The added Oreo and coffee could also have stood out more but it didn't. You can't compare it to Sonic's Oreo coffee cheesecake shake or any similar Five Guys shake, as it just won't make the cut, but it was decent. We wouldn't get that combo again we agreed and would probably stick to a plain chocolate shake or try another few add-ins. Overall, it was a fine experience though. Good service and decent food. I like that they have options to order different tray set meals - good for couples and families or if you're just hungry and want variety with a good bang for your buck. We'll be back sometime to try other things from this Southern regional chain.

I came here a few weeks ago and was very disappointed by the customer service. I used the drive-thru and the girl taking my order was rude and had a patronizing tone from the start. I stopped ordering everything I was going was to because of this, and as I arrived to the window she was so distracted talking to the other employees and joking she wasn't even aware of the items in my order she missed. With that being said, today a friend and I tried the drive -thru again (against my will) and Latasha completely changed my mind. She was the perfect customer service example. She was efficient, warm and friendly and professional. If they employ more people like her they could turn this location around quickly. Thank you! read more

This place is not going to be anything fancy for you. It's not going to wow you. It's not going to make you rave. It IS going to make you come back for more though. The shakes are $1.99 I believe, and are probably the best in the area. That's with Sonic and Brusters right beside it. The meal deals they have are also UNBELIEVABLE. Service is usually fast, and worked by teenagers. $4.99 for a meal with I believe 2-3 sides and a drink. It's not the best food, but it is freshly made. You can taste it by the flavor. As for the shakes, they're made fresh also. They aren't like these other fast food places around here where you can taste the artificial pumped shakes. It's almost like a Cold Stone or Maggie Moos where they mix in the exact thing you ask for. They also have Cheerwine for you Carolina/Virginia folks out there who crave it so often! All in all, it's a great value place and that's what matters to me. It's got something McDonalds/Burger King don't have. read more

If you try one of their milkshakes you will never go to DQ again. Half the price with real chunks of fruit and many flavors to choose from (Watermelon in the summer; I like Banana Pineapple). The hushpuppies are really good and so is the BBQ sandwich. NOTE: BBQ sandwiches come with cole slaw on them -which I find GROSS- so unless you like cole slaw on your BBQ sandwich you will have to tell them when you order to leave the cole slaw off. read more

So i get all the way home only to find out my order was wrong as heck. Now i dont live close to this place its on the way home. I was furious and drove all the way back for my correct order and expecting some resistance. Nope! The manager Josh quickly gave me my correct order apologized AND gave me a full refund. Customer service is a easy 5* even if the order is wrong. Lol read more

Terrible place, which is unfortunate since it's the only one in the area. Not sure if the speaker was malfunctioning when we went but it was SUPER loud, and woke up my sleeping child. Normally can go to a drive-thru with him asleep but this was ridiculously loud. So now I have a child who is none too happy about his rude awakening, while I proceed to sit and sit at the window for who knows how long (there was no one in front of me in line). I only ordered a shake and hush puppies but it took so long, and no one at any point communicated to me that there is any reason for a wait. A girl finally came to the window and in a hurried and pushy manner said, "here it is!" and promptly closed the window and left. They totally gave me the complete wrong flavor shake but I was too busy dealing with said screaming child at the time so I didn't bother to turn around and try for round 2 with these kids. Disappointed at another place I can't go to in good faith. read more

Since moving further down South many years ago, I've missed this place and when they built on in Athens I hoped for one closer, who knew it would be in my backyard! Ordered a plate with two cheese quesadillas. Quesadillas came out with chicken. Sent them back the first time, they promptly brought out two more chicken quesadillas... Sent them back AGAIN and guess what I got the third time? ONE single chicken quesadilla. What the hell. They weren't even remotely busy. Then the (completely zoned out) cashier said "we don't do refunds" when I asked to just get my money back. Ended up finally getting a refund after the manager tried to say there were two in the foil (which wouldn't matter because it was STILL CHICKEN). Not coming back to this location. Avoid it, or triple check your order. read more

BEST cookout ever. They recently opened & I am beyond impressed. The place is super clean & nice. & the customer service is better than Chickfila's ( Lol)z I will definitely becoming back. They are patient while you're ordering & care about whether you're happy with the everything or not. I have seen this place for some time and today we decided to give it a try. I was very crowded but the line moved fast and the service was excellent. They are courteous and friendly. The food is really pretty good. We had hamburgers and fries and a soft drink. You can pick an entrée, two sides or double the side, and a drink for under $5.00. And way better than McDonalds and Checkers. Check this place out. read more

I enjoyed their BBQ plate until my last visit. The BBQ was overcooked and burned. When I asked for and spoke to manager he stated that he noticed the BBQ was burned when he came in and "hoped" they had not been serving it all day. Why didn't he throw it out when he came in!! He offered me a free meal but I declined. Won't be going back even though I live a mile away. read more

Cheap and delicious! It feels illegal to get so much food for so little money... and it's all pretty good! My favorites are the chicken wraps and the milkshakes. You must try the Oreo or the Snickers! The Cajun chicken sandwiches are also really good and burgers are always fresh. Seriously, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. read more

Not only that, painting up your business in the colors of the Greek flag is bound to have some marketing value ... it makes you want to drop in if driving along and you like Greek food. It's located right in the heart of downtown Tucker, with plenty of parking on the side and a spacious interior, including a private dining room for large parties. We came around 2:30 PM, after the lunch rush, so it wasn't too busy. The setup is cafeteria-style -- you grab a tray, walk down the line, and let the servers know what you'd like. Everything is à la carte, with entrées around $6-$8 and sides about $2.50-$3, so you're looking at roughly $15 per person for a full meal -- not bad at all. Everyday they have a different set menu of what they serve so you get a mixture. We ordered a bit of everything. I'm a big meatloaf fan, so I had to try it -- but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my hopes. It didn't look very appetizing and the texture was overly ground and slightly gritty because it was a bit dry. It comes with your choice of gravy or marinara sauce, but honestly, I would've preferred some classic ketchup on top instead. The fried fish was mostly batter with very thin fillets, so there wasn't much substance there either. The country fried chicken, however, was the highlight -- large portion, well-cooked, and flavorful. Just note that once you add the gravy, it loses that crispy texture and becomes soggy. The sides were decent but nothing memorable, and the bread and hush puppies were pretty dry. Since everything is counter-service, there isn't much staff interaction. You pay upfront, find your own seat, and when you're done, you just leave your tray -- there aren't any trash cans to clear your own table. Overall, the experience was just okay. It's a neat place with history and friendly vibes, but the food didn't quite hit the "soul" level I was hoping for. There are definitely other country-style spots I'd try before coming back.

Short Review: I enjoy their food. Their food is fresh and cooked on a char-grill (you can tell too!) which really separates them from the competition. Long Review- Menu (5/5): Very overwhelming at first, A LOT of options to choose from, I personally enjoyed the Cheddar Style burger on my first visit and the Steak Style burger on my 2nd! I honestly wanna try every menu item they have too because it all sounds too good! Food (4/5): The food is great, fresh and cooked on a char grill as well which gives it an amazing flavor. I don't know what seasoning they put on but it feels like something special gives it a unique flavor that separates it from other fast food restaurants. The only reason why the rating isn't a 5/5 is because it is obviously unhealthy for you like all fast food chains, but makes for a nice guilty pleasure. "The cookout in Tucker on Hugh Howell road has horrible customer service. The food is good but the staff lack proper skills to interact with customers. Just tonight, I walked into the lobby, headed to the counter to order a sweet tea to go. Someone stood up from a table, whom I observed to be eating at a table in the lobby. I had seen this person eating at the table, as I parked before entering , which is why I assumed the lobby was open. Anyhow this person jumps up from the table and starts angrily yelling at me about the lobby being closed. I expressed to the worker that I didn't know the place was closed, I was just trying to buy a sweet tea. The guy starts back yelling at me to get out.
