I've been using CookUnity for a month now and, while that isn't a lot of time, I have mostly positive things to say. The meal selection, variety, and quality are so good! The price is not what I would prefer to spend, but to be objective, there are several factors to consider: 1. Groceries are insanely expensive for everyone right now. 2. There is little difference in my spending using CookUnity (especially if I am including frequent takeout orders). 3. Using this service means we eat out less. 4. I do not have to actually cook which, given my busy schedule, is too often not possible without added stress. So, for me and my partner, it is worth it. Recently, I did not realize that a meal I did not like was in an upcoming order, but I had not eaten that meal until after the order was confirmed so it was unavoidable. I will have to deal with having a disliked meal in my next order. Thankfully, customer service explained how I can "dislike" meals so they do not show up in my orders again. Other than that, I am really happy with CookUnity. My family has enjoyed the majority of the meals ordered. So we will continue to use this service for the forseeable future. read more

Here's a detailed review: (with suggestions for the usability) Food: Great service for REAL food, can eat non-frozen and frozen. I've been subscribed for about 6+ months now. The food here is great and fresh. I struggle to cook and have many allergies and dietary restrictions. Its a big relief to have the diverse menu. It's one of the few services that I can put down multiple allergens to avoid. Great salad quality too. They have great instructions for cooking too. Mini heads up: Make sure to have your preferences updated and be on top of skipping/ choosing your meals. If your cart is empty, they will fill it up based on your preference tab a day before and notify you. It will be purchased the next day, if you don't cancel it. I think it's great for those who are adventurous Service: The customer service is great, they do not have a live phone number but they respond quickly to texts and emails. I had an issue with an order and they fixed it with me within 3 hours. Ambiance: They provide very sturdy bags and have an easy recycle program too (just leave the bag out on the day day of your next delivery). The food is also packed well with lots of ice bags. The website is easy to understand and traverse. Future suggestions to elevate the service: A yearly planner view would be great addition for people with ADHD. Currently you can only skip and plan a meal about 2-3 weeks ahead. With the moments of attention I have, I would love if I could pre-schedule the below: I sometimes order meals for my partner (every 3 weeks) and it would be nice to set different meal amounts ahead of time to accommodate for his visits. ( like preset having 16 meals come in 3 weeks from now and other times the 8 meal pack) Additionally, sometimes I have a trip so it would be nice to be able to "pre-skip" a meal week. The Best that has happened to me lately was joining a subscription with CookUnity it has completely changed my life their food it's Delicious and such a large selection of meals! They have meals for special diets ie: Keto,Paleo and Mediterranean... They really have meals for everyone's preference. I have ordered from other venues but never this many selections and nice presentation. Oh I ordered a gift certificate for a friend for $150 they never received it by email or mail and I have been unable to get any response from their online customer service. They have no 800 number and even their online chat is robot. I have received two emails that said that they would be in contact with me within 24 hours and have not heard anything from them at all let alone 24 hours it has been weeks. Their online chat is ridiculous and just keeps saying the same things over again. No help at all. Can't talk to a real person. Probably the worst customer service I have dealt with in quite a while. This is my favorite meal delivery service. I've tried many others, but CookUnity has the best taste, packaging ("zero waste" goal), and delivery service. They look and taste like real meals. Their emphasis on real chefs and their profile makes the meals feel a little more personal, too. The price is reasonable given what they do. I've recommended CookUnity to my parents and friends. My first order of 8 meals at 50% off was great. I enjoyed every single meal. Starting my next order is when I started to have minor issues, involving the order not going through due to a menu and chef rotation. I had a hard time trying to figure out which meals were the issue because it's not stated anywhere. Sent a few emails and it was resolved just by making sure I picked my meals and they automatically chose meals to my liking based off my profile and by viewing the ingredients in the meals they chose, they did a great job. I used this company for food delivery in San Marcos Texas and the food was very good and tasty but I had a problem with getting in touch with them and I had accidentally placed a order and they were very difficult to contact and they never gave me any help. Once I was able to contact them they did what they called a escal of the situation to someone who would decide on what to do for me. So the decision was made that they would not be giving me any type of refund and they were not able to let me discuss this matter directly with whoever they escalated it too. So basically I just got screwed over and received no refund at all and that was that. Very poor customer service read more

I tried one other service, Factor. I didn't like their food selections and their packaging in plastic containers. It was also hard to navigate via their web browser. However, I really have enjoyed the food selections with Cook Unity so far. There are ethnic foods with different chefs with different ratings which I appreciate. I also think their customer support and navigation is much easier to use. And it seams more environmentally safe without using plastic meal trays along with a nice delivery bag versus a big cardboard box. As a foodie, I am highly considering this to be my ongoing meal plan service after my first week of trying out their foods. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is because it can a bit pricey. There are a few policies that I would like to have changed, like not being credited for discounts when the order has already been processed. Like putting items on the options list that has been sold out for months, like the lamb chops and mashed potatoes or the brisket quesadillas, etc...I know your supplies may be back ordered due to shipment and/or quality issues. I would also like to have the option of flexibility in the meals, like instead of rice, substitute for mashed or baked potatoes, regular potatoes instead of sweet potatoes, salad instead of rice...as long as it's the same chef, I don't see where that'd be a problem. I'd also love more breakfast options, or snacks, or deli meats. I LOVE this service. I tell EVERYONE about it and often comment positively on the FB ads I see. The reason I love this is because I hate to cook and will just snack all day instead of eating meals. I order 4 of these a week and I feel good knowing that I'll get 4 balanced meals a week instead of non-nutritious snacks that never fully satisfy my hunger.
