    Beef souvlaki bowl.
    Joel S.

We got an experimental order of takeout from Wonder. I have a bias against ghost kitchens. The proliferation of them during the pandemic has established them as a fixture in the USA. I can better understand them in suburbs and small towns that lack an assortment of restaurants. Manhattan is full of genuine, small restaurants. So why patronize a corporate entity like this? Having said that, we figured what the hell... The online ordering process is straightforward. It's a bit unnerving to see all of those different restaurants on one website. We ordered Greek food from two ostensibly different restaurants. I had a beef souvlaki grain bowl and my wife had a salad. We also ordered a chicken souvlaki sandwich. The type of chicken wasn't specified. We assumed that it would be white meat, but it was dark meat. The food was good and the ingredients seemed to be good quality. This place stands up well against other chains like Chopt and Sweetgreen. It will fill a niche for take out. I would still rather dine in a real restaurant.

Truffle parm wings with a side of homemade blue cheese ?

If I could rate this no stars I would. If you need a quick ER trip please order this meal. The salt did come with fries, wings and a drink. Everything is heavily salted. I tasted no garlic or any parm on any of the wings, just salt. The fries were crispy but salty. The wings were also on the large side which is not preferred. I ordered a side of blue cheese and receive this homemade dilly something which wasn't bad but not the blue cheese flavor I expected. The drink that comes with the order did come very cold and it was appreciated. Not as upset about the order because I did have a first time promo code I was able to use but overall would not order this ever again.

    Cobb salad from Royal Greens

Delivery took a bit. All fine. Cobb Salad from Royal Greens: 7/10 - I wish the lettuce was chopped, solid salad Truffle Mac and cheese from The Mainstay: 7/10 - good but nothing special Garlic fries from Fred's: 9/10 - can't do fries wrong

    Wings, pizza, and fries. TRASH

Trash. Ordered the "Detroit" pizza, the peri peri wings, and the fries. I ordered off the wonder app. Clearly this food is meant for the taste buds of upper Eastside. Typical. Because not only is this food bland it's definitely not what it advertises to be. Think of it like this... TV dinners with extra sauce on it from people who think they know flavor. Zero stars. Food is just disgusting.

Sun was our staff person who provided us with our order. We ordered from Limesalt (similar to chipotle where you can make your own bowl and the salsa sauce red one was so good with fresh veges ground up in there!). Sun was very nice and friendly. And Alisha was also nice too! There's a code for the bathroom and it's very nice that it's air-conditioned and that there is even a bathroom to begin with. It is gender neutral. And right now they have a promotional where you get a free dessert for an order. We got magnolia bakery banana pudding. It was really good. They have many ghost kitchens across the 5 boroughs and even one in Bay Ridge brooklyn. We also ordered a Poboy shrimp sandwich, which was pretty good also with the bread toasted and fried shrimp. If you have a friend who has a cold, you could use that code for $15 off your first and second order. And the person who gives you the Code can also get $15 off their next order. The concept is really amazing because you can order at a wonder location that's closest to you and order from many different restaurants in this one app and then you don't have to pay for delivery fees because you're picking it up yourself. And you don't have to wait for the delivery person because you can just get it when you're ready. The food is not great, but I'm sure there are certain dishes that are really amazing. I just haven't tried everything yet. But I think this is really efficient because you can order from many food places in 1 ghost kitchen and pick up yourself when you have time.

Mushroom & Goat Cheese Bruschetta !

Must try!! My fav entree. It comes with at least 4 to 5 pieces of bruschetta. Btw! Shoutout to the team at Wonder E.86th street! I felt the energy off the walk in. Thanks for making my day. It was also nice and clean inside, down to the bathroom!

A variety of virtual food hall "booths".
    Al H.

I was passing by and this place caught my eye. It had been open about a month. The concept is a virtual food hall with booths created by celebrity chefs, such as Bobby Flay, Michael Symon, and even Di Fara's Pizzerria. Physical premises would not let on that there are so many menu choices. You are faced with a line of tablets where you place your order and pay up front. There is an option to complete your purchase with cash, but I paid with a credit card. If you download the app, ypu will receive a $5 credit on your first order. Although it appears they are set up for takeout and delivery, there are a number of tables to seat 2 or 3 and a few stools at a window counter looking out towards East 86th Street. The food came out very quickly. There is a casual feel, but the food I enjoyed had a sit down feel and was delicious. When ordering, there was an option for additional beef to what was originally included for $2 more, but I took the standard portion, for me was fine. The steak was nicely seasoned and tender. My Greek salad came with nice feta cheese and everythingwas fresh. Although I requested red wine vinaigrette dressing, I got just vinegrette. To use the rest room, there is a single occupancy accommodation.

I used my friend's code to get $15 off an order of $20 or more. I chose to pick up and I got a poke bowl and spicy tuna. The poke bowl was huge!! I would order again.

I came here for the opening of street bird. Wonder has a few restaurants in one. Sounds odd I know. But it's an interesting concept and there are more food choices for the community. The place itself is pretty small with some places to sit. There are 22 restaurants within this wonder. You order your food from tablets that are set up by the counter. There is delivery/ take out from wonder too.

It's a food hall. The idea is you can: -order and eat here -pick up and take home -order delivery They have at least 12 menus from different places, and apparently 5 different kitchen areas in the back. You can order electronically at the booth or download the app. They do have a small area to eat with several tables.

One bite is enough to send a novice spice eater to their grave. But that's why I love Xi'an Famous Foods so much. There is not a single item on the menu that you won't enjoy. I've tried a variety of dishes, all of which I've loved. Their pickled cucumbers are both refreshing and flavorful. Their thick flat noodles with your choice of meat are wonderfully saucy. Their dumplings, stuffed with either lamb, pork, or beef (you decide), were even more so drenched in sauce. Their "burgers" (not the American kind, mind you, so don't come here expecting something you can get from Shake Shack) had a satisfying flaky bread with wonderfully juicy cuts of meat. Sure, Xi'an Famous Foods is spicy, but it's not merely the type of spice that is all burn and no flavor. Xi'an's dishes are so full of umami that you'll crave days later. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water!

You can order at their register or self-service kiosk. There are only around 4 barstool/counter seats, so please note that this isn't necessarily a sit-down restaurant. You have the choice of less spice / regular spice for dishes than include sauces, but I opted for regular spice. The spicy & sour spinach dumplings definitely had a kick, but wasn't too overwhelming. The hand-ripped noodles were chewy and very filling. It did have bits of cabbage, but I wish there were more veggies to round out the noodles. It could definitely be split between two people - again, it's a VERY filling dish since it's 85% noodles.

RIP Urban Hawker…read more Though if you wanted to recreate that part in movie plots where the protagonist we all thought had veered into untimely demise surprises everyone by miraculously making a comeback--I'm down for that too! Though on a serious note--kinda bummed bc I wanted to make one last visit before they closed July 17, though unfortunately I didn't make it back to town in time :( What a loss of a cultural connection point for the city! Food is a gateway to experiencing and understanding other cultures and this location was front and center in midtown, blocks from Times Square. In a sea of other cuisines, this part of Southeast Asia didn't/doesn't have much representation in general in Manhattan, and even less so now. Scouring articles and comments online I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they're able to find a different space in the near future! Was it the best food court? I'll admit this was easily debatable for many reasons. But each stall had their own standouts. Tradsiyon was a later addition though had really solid braised meat and veggie bowls; Hainan Jones stepped into a midtown scene several years ago with no other similar Hainanese chicken spots in midtown (a few others thankfully are around today); Kopifellas brought uniquely Singaporean/Malasian tea and coffee options; I still remember the first bite of Prawnaholic's signature shrimp and rib noodles tasting that savory goodness for the first time; and most of all I will dearly miss this location of Lady Wong, where I rarely walked away empty handed. Thank you for the memories (and think about that movie plot twist I mentioned above)!

I rarely went home invoking a strong enthusiastic response to come back to eat something again. Their strong suite was location, space, and variety. What I loved most--besides having a reliable bathroom in Midtown--was what it became for the people around it. It was a place where office workers could decompress after work, grab a beer with coworkers, or catch up with friends they hadn't seen in a while. There was something refreshing about the atmosphere. People seemed relaxed and unguarded, shedding the polished professional persona they'd worn all day. It felt like watching the city exhale for a little while. And another thing I appreciated was their attempt to represent different nationalities under one roof. The more common items performed the worse and that's probably when you come to a space dedicated to hawker style cuisine, you expect to try some of their more novel stuff like Coffee Pork Fried Rice (from a stall that specialized in fried rice) or Noodles in Bechamel. I also frequently enjoyed their only drinks provider for the best Yuen Yang I've ever had. The method for making them seems theatrical at first but when you've had one that wasn't properly aerated, you truly taste the chalky bitter tannins. It was a good thing there was an experience worker there (possibly the owner). Who you got to make your drink was hit or miss because at varying times, my gf would be lucky enough to run into the one guy who could do it with oatmilk (she's lactose intolerant). It's sad to see this place go and there'll be many times ahead of us where we point out that that's where the Urban Hawker used to be.
