The staff was cleaning tables and it was a well kept spot. The food did have to wait a bit long, it was about 10 mins for our food. Tried this location of Wonder today with a friend after having eaten over a dozen times at one of their other locations. A generally positive experience and would come by again if I wanted something decently tasty and a slight step up in number of options compared to places like Dig Inn, Cava, Naya and Sweetgreen to eat in the neighborhood. This is a ghost kitchen with a variety of "restaurant names" and cuisines to choose from, and they have dozens of locations popping up in the NY metro area, marketing themselves as "a new kind of food hall." Order online, via their app or in person at a kiosk and food takes about 10-30 minutes to be ready depending on the time of day. Food is made to order and ingredients are fresh. Walking into this location kiosks and single non-gender restroom are to the back left, pickup shelves and counter to the back right, and about a dozen seats to the immediate right. We went with a couple of my tried and true options here: - chicken souvlaki and avocado open face pits sandwich from Yasas $14.20: comes with grilled chicken chunks, tomatoes, cucumbers, red pepper, feta, avocado, romaine, hummus, eggplant spread, and crispy shallots, on a warm fluffy pita. Kinda like a Mediterranean flatbread covered with lots of toppings. Tasty lunch fare. - build-your-own salad from Royal Greens $9.95+marinated tofu $2.50: choose your own lettuce and/grains mix, I chose kale and quinoa, add up to six toppings (I chose edamame, beets, pickled onions, cherry tomatoes, herbed broccoli, roasted sweet potatoes), two crunch toppings (I chose only croutons this time and seems like somehow they were missed), a mini pita (if it's early enough--sometimes they run out), with a choice of dressing (charred scallion is one of my favorites here). - for drinks ordered a Diet Coke $2.50 no description needed and Poppi root beer $3.50 which is a soda with less sugar than normal (5g versus 20g+). Generally speaking since there are many cuisines coming out of the same kitchen, feels like there are items used across recipes where some dishes may have ingredients and flavors that work better with other dishes. For example I've tried poke once from Hanu Poke and it tasted kinda like a salad from Royal Greens with chunks of not-quite-made-for-poke-cuts of salmon added. And the beef burrito from Limesalt tasted like it used similar ingredients as used in the beef souvlaki sandwich. I've had wonder a few times trying multiple restaurants and have only found 1 item to be so good and priced well it's worth returning. The souvlaki salad from Yaas by Michael Simon. The food is NEVER ready within the timeframe they say so always order way in advance. As I wait for food as I write this review the inside is packed and I have witnessed an employee on her phone for the last 5-7 minutes in the kitchen area. I hope she washed her hands before touching any food. This place has potential but they need better management and some dishes need higher quality ingredients. read more

I ordered a side of blue cheese and receive this homemade dilly something which wasn't bad but not the blue cheese flavor I expected. We got an experimental order of takeout from Wonder. I have a bias against ghost kitchens. The proliferation of them during the pandemic has established them as a fixture in the USA. I can better understand them in suburbs and small towns that lack an assortment of restaurants. Manhattan is full of genuine, small restaurants. So why patronize a corporate entity like this? Having said that, we figured what the hell... The online ordering process is straightforward. It's a bit unnerving to see all of those different restaurants on one website. We ordered Greek food from two ostensibly different restaurants. I had a beef souvlaki grain bowl and my wife had a salad. We also ordered a chicken souvlaki sandwich. The type of chicken wasn't specified. We assumed that it would be white meat, but it was dark meat. The food was good and the ingredients seemed to be good quality. This place stands up well against other chains like Chopt and Sweetgreen. It will fill a niche for take out. I would still rather dine in a real restaurant. read more

We ordered from Limesalt (similar to chipotle where you can make your own bowl and the salsa sauce red one was so good with fresh veges ground up in there!). Sun was very nice and friendly. And Alisha was also nice too! There's a code for the bathroom and it's very nice that it's air-conditioned and that there is even a bathroom to begin with. It is gender neutral. And right now they have a promotional where you get a free dessert for an order. We got magnolia bakery banana pudding. It was really good. They have many ghost kitchens across the 5 boroughs and even one in Bay Ridge brooklyn. We also ordered a Poboy shrimp sandwich, which was pretty good also with the bread toasted and fried shrimp. If you have a friend who has a cold, you could use that code for $15 off your first and second order. And the person who gives you the Code can also get $15 off their next order. The concept is really amazing because you can order at a wonder location that's closest to you and order from many different restaurants in this one app and then you don't have to pay for delivery fees because you're picking it up yourself. And you don't have to wait for the delivery person because you can just get it when you're ready. The food is not great, but I'm sure there are certain dishes that are really amazing. I just haven't tried everything yet. But I think this is really efficient because you can order from many food places in 1 ghost kitchen and pick up yourself when you have time. read more

I've now tried Wonder twice - once on the UES and once on the UWS. I think the business has potential but they need to fix some things. They only have two order kiosks, so a line builds up to place your order if you don't order ahead. My biggest issue is the amount of time it takes for the food to be ready. I waited 30 minutes for a pasta dish. I was also pressed for time and said if the dish wasn't going to be ready within 5 minutes, I would need to leave and take a refund. My order then finally appeared and was put into a bag that promptly ripped with the weight of two bottled drinks plus the food when I got onto the street. Also this location seemed to attract alot of unsupervised kids and teenagers who were being loud and obnoxious. They also took up the minimal seating that was available even if only one person in their friend group was actually eating from Wonder. If I wanted to pay $20 for pasta and wait 30 minutes for the food, I would just go to an actual restaurant to do so. I don't need to do take out from Wonder because it's not worth it at that cost and length of time to wait. read more

I was passing by and this place caught my eye. It had been open about a month. The concept is a virtual food hall with booths created by celebrity chefs, such as Bobby Flay, Michael Symon, and even Di Fara's Pizzerria. Physical premises would not let on that there are so many menu choices. You are faced with a line of tablets where you place your order and pay up front. There is an option to complete your purchase with cash, but I paid with a credit card. If you download the app, ypu will receive a $5 credit on your first order. Although it appears they are set up for takeout and delivery, there are a number of tables to seat 2 or 3 and a few stools at a window counter looking out towards East 86th Street. The food came out very quickly. There is a casual feel, but the food I enjoyed had a sit down feel and was delicious. When ordering, there was an option for additional beef to what was originally included for $2 more, but I took the standard portion, for me was fine. The steak was nicely seasoned and tender. My Greek salad came with nice feta cheese and everythingwas fresh. Although I requested red wine vinaigrette dressing, I got just vinegrette. I had to circle back and upgrade my review, because I just had the most wonderful meal from the UES Wonder location! This time I ordered from Michael Symon's Chios Taverna, and it was divine!! The packaging from Wonder is top-notch, packed very neatly. An overall great presentation. I love Branzino and have ordered from many restaurants, and I could safely say that this is one of the best cooked I have ever eaten. It wasn't dry at all, it also wasn't soaking wet from too much oil or juices from veggies. The flavor was impeccable, and the texture was perfect. Not to mention it was only $25 for two neatly prepared fillets. Almost unheard of in NYC! The lemon potatoes were an absolute surprise. Of course a potato is going to be a potato, but these are seasoned to perfection, just enough salt and herbs... It was enough for two servings, so I enjoyed them as leftovers. And I am already craving them again! The Taziki sauce is well-made, a nice blend although I kind of wish there were a little little bit of cucumbers in there because I like a little more texture, but the flavor is on point. The pitas are exceptional, they appear to be tiny at first but they are thick and fluffy. Super fresh, and such a wonderful cloud like texture. I have to give this an overall 10 out of 10 - especially for an Uber eats order which could be hit or miss. Money well spent!! I also want to say that after mishaps on my last order, the restaurant did reach out and acknowledge my concerns. That's just flat out good customer service, and it is very appreciated. I've been multiple times but have only gotten one thing here which is the beef suvalaki salad. This salad is sooo delicious and very reasonably priced. Compared to Sweetgreen and other salads in the area it's cheap. I do wish they put more than four pieces of beef on the salad. You also don't really need the dressing since the Taziki and other dip that they put in the salad dresses the lettuce plenty. There has been two times that I've ordered and they've accidentally put rice in my bowl so now I always check before leaving. Otherwise it's usually pretty quick after I've ordered online and I can pick it up within 10 minutes. You have to make sure you grab utensils and napkins that are sitting on the counter when you pick up the food since they don't include them in the bag. I haven't tried any of the other restaurants or items, but may in the future. My salad was so fresh and really good! I walked into Wonder on the Upper East Side and didn't know what expect. There are 3 kiosks where you order your food on the computer. It felt weird not to be greeted by a human. There were a few tables and chairs. I ordered a salad that was very well priced and the people in the kitchen prepare your order. My salad come out and I was blown away at how fresh were the ingredients. I mean fresh tasting, fresh greens and fresh ingredients. I will definitely go back to this place, the quality was very good! Overall, the experience was pretty disappointing. I had to wait an additional 10 minutes after I received a text that my order was ready for pick up. After that, the food was cold with the chicken notably not being hot at all. The rice was gummy, and they barely gave any avocados. I paid almost $20 for this Poké bowl and I didn't think it was worth it. My friend got a fried chicken sandwich from Street Bird, which was also cold, and she said the cornbread was mid, she couldn't finish it and she loves cornbread. I feel obligated to write this review because I know what it was like to work in the retail/service industry and I hope my message will make other customers be a bit more empathic. I placed a take-out order here and, after 30 minutes of waiting, they told me they lost my order as they packed it in someone else's order. When one of the worker realised this, he immediately took action and made sure my order will be fulfill as soon as possible. Although he could've rushed it out to not make me wait any longer, he didn't because he wanted to make sure the food were cooked well and that it was done properly. The guy at the counter recognized that I waited a long time and always reassured me that my order will be coming soon and gave me an estimated time. I was floored when they took it a step further and offered me a free beverage and a nice young lady even offered me a cookie. The whole team stepped out and apologize to me in person. This is what above and beyond customer service looks like. I WOULD GIVE THEM ALL A RAISE. I was fine waiting because I was in their shoes once upon a time. The burger was burnt so bad the entire perimeter was black and hard. The onion rings were badly burnt. The steak bowl had tiny specs of steak and was half empty. Customer service offered to make again (but the wait and to tip again) I opted for the credit of the meal. The meal was $46 before tip and I was given $15. When I complained, they claimed they weren't aware of the issue with the burger and onion rings (clearly in the text exchange with customer service). Customer service ghosted me. The variety of foods is amazing and comports with my desire for variety. I have ordered several dishes now through the Wonder app. All have been delicious. They have been served on time. I like taking the food home. The service at Wonder is very professional. The atmosphere at the Wonder near me, on the Upper East Side, is clean. The only critique I have is not seeing the food being prepared or, at least, seeing food in glass cases. I ordered boneless chicken tenders with spicy miso sauce, it literally tasted like those chicken nuggets that you put in the microwave, but worse because it was like they were left in the microwave for too long if that makes sense? The skin was chewy and rubbery. The inside, the meat, looked dried up and old. It also tasted old, or like it had been left in a refrigerator for too long before they served it to me. It was also cold when it arrived, and I got it within 20 minutes of ordering it. The fries were underwhelming. All in all, very disappointing food. I ate two of them, trying to convince myself that maybe it wasn't that bad, but I couldn't continue. I had the $15 first-time promo, but they ended up refunding me for the fees I did need to pay for, and gave me a $15 credit too, maybe I'll try it out one more time (a different restaurant there) just because of that.
