I've been getting CU meals for almost a year now and I love the convenience, the tasty options, and the fact that I'm supporting a chef cooperative. The price per meal comes out to less than $12.50, and delivery is reasonable. I'd recommend not scheduling for a Monday which I think is busier for them so the meals arrive later in the day. I also really love the re-usable delivery bag and ice packs. Lastly, I've had to reach out to Customer Service only a few times - once when a meal was not properly sealed, and they reimbursed me for it. And another time when I accidentally scheduled meals for twice in a one week. Even though I was past the deadline to cancel the duplicate order, they helped me out and took care of it for me, giving me a full refund. Definitely recommend signing up with CookUnity. read more

I have tried a few of these food services, and I think this one is the best. There are a few things they could improve, but mostly very good. Important details, I order keto food, and I'm in Phoenix. So you order once a week, on-line, and they deliver it on a set day per week. The food is fresh, and lasts 3 to 5 days. Each item has a use-by date. So the minor point here is, the food doesn't last a week but comes once-a-week. Some you could freeze if you wanted, but its not recommended. The portions are good, two people could split a meal if they are willing to have smaller portions. My wife and I do that. But certainly, one person could eat it as well. Splitting it makes it a bit more affordable. So price varies with how many you buy, but meals are around $15-$16 each with shipping. Some have an extra surcharge, like some steaks. They also have side-dishes for $5-$10. So price is similar to take-out in a restaurant. The quality of the food seems quite good. Again, similar to take-out. They have a variety of meals each week, maybe over 200, but many people have restrictions, and this is my minor gripe. You can screen by keto, paleo, low fat, low calories, etc. but none of their meals are explicitly made for these diets. So if you pick keto, for example, none of their meals are made for keto, but the filter screens by low carbs, with a quite high limit, maybe 18 carbs per meal. But many meals are filtered out because they don't make simple changes. For example, there is this salad that is completely keto except it has corn. If they dropped the corn, it would taste 99% the same but be keto. Another salad was like that but had croutons. So what I'm saying is, maybe they could make some very minor tweaks, and allow more foods to fit more dietary cases. But at this point, it doesn't look like they tweak any meal for dietary restrictions, but they could, and the service would be much better. And one more thing. My profile is marked as keto, yet every week I have to enable the keto filter so I only see keto meals. Please fix that. Maybe worse, if I don't pick meals every week, or hold a week, the system randomly picks meals for me and charges my credit card. And guess what, they aren't even keto. Go figure. So the service good, but not without some things they could easily fix. read more

It is also unbelievable that they have so much variety to choose from--over 400 different meal choices every week! They have meal choices from just about any imaginable cuisine. Just started this meal service and am pleasantly surprised. I needed this because I'm usually too exhausted to cook and end up eating crappy fast food, and I wanted more reasonable portions instead of mindlessly eating too much. At first I thought the portions looked too small and I'd still be hungry when I was done, but they actually fill me up. I seen cookunity on an Instagram ad & decided why not let me try this! It was extremely easy to pick my food preferences. Having my food delivered, was actually easy as well. I received a text in the a.m. and received update a notification when my food will be delivered. The items I had chosen for myself we're actually very good. Even the packaging was very straightforward with food preparation directions. I was very impressed until day three when all of a sudden I was struck with an intestinal parasite that comes from contaminated water! Personally, I only drink Evian water, and I have a whole house filtration system for bathing and so and so forth! With the money I spent for CookUnity I didn't have plans on eating out that week, nor did so! So to give them the benefit of the doubt, I had paused my future weeks! To my dismay, I had receive another delivery! When I had emailed CookUnity regarding this, they stated that I never had deferred my meals which I have screenshots that I had done so! So I don't know if it's their system error or a way they are attempting to keep customers! I was initially very happy with the food quality of Cook Unity. Yesterday, I received my delivery but the order was not complete because I ordered 6 meals, paid for 6 meals, and only received 4 meals. I thought that won't be a problem to reach the company to get the matter sorted out. Little did I know that was when my "initial easily sorted problem" turned into a nightmare. Here are the problems I encountered: 1. I emailed them multiple times, no one responded. 2. I tried calling, texting, chatting, all are bots, you won't reach a human being 3. I tried reaching them at their Insta account and the person told me to email them (see #1 and #2) 4. My confidence in the company has significantly declined and now I skipped all my meals, and based on the review online I am now very scared that the company will still charge me for the services I will not receive because their accounting system appears to be shoddy 5. There are NO WAY to cancel the service unless you reach a human being. But see my experience outlined in #1, #2, #3, it will not happen! How is this an accredited company? Shoddy shoddy shoddy. Some of the food good. After about 6 weeks they just started sending me meals with chicken fingers and mashed potatoes despite preselecting my meals. . I don't eat either. This happened 2 weeks in a row. I threw most of them out. When I informed them i didn't receive what I ordered they offered a promo discount for a future week. Overall the food was good when I got what I ordered. I'm disappointed because I really liked it in the beginning. If I can't rely on them to either send the meals I've selected or if I don't select meals send me meals fit for an adult. I know things happen but I wasn't offered a solution.
