You are allowed to have a different flavor for each layer of cake at no additional cost, so we had fun with those. We picked the olive oil cake with passion fruit cream, the walnut almond pound cake with raspberry mousse, and the lemon cake with orange flower blossom cream. Well, my husband talks about that passion fruit cream more than any other part of our wedding (I try not to be too upset about that), it was that amazing! My favorite flavor was the raspberry mousse, and I keep hearing a ton of compliments on that flavor in particular from our guests. The only critique I would give to Cake Fiction is that they didn't give the venue a list of the flavors so nobody knew what each layer was and my husband and I had picked the flavors months before and couldn't remember either. I also appreciate how up-front Cake Fiction was with their pricing, which is listed online on their website to give you an idea of an estimate for your cake. We ended up going with a naked cake with just buttercream frosting on the outside which saved us a bit of money, and it looked so beautiful after our florist put a couple of flowers on it for us and it really fit in well with the theme of our barn venue. I made my own cake toppers out of clay and they were a little heavy so I was worried about them on top possibly sinking into the cake, but the cake was sturdy and the topper sat up there proudly! And finally, Paula is also the sweetest lady ever and you can tell she really has a passion for her work. It's lovely that we have such a great wedding cake baker in New Jersey. For example, the red layer had strawberries and the yellow had lemon curd.
