We only got ice cream here and for a soda serve cone and medium shake it was $10. Not too bad, I definitely want to try some food items. You order at the walk up window. One cool summer evening would be great here. Definitely has that nostalgic feeling. The strawberry shake had pieces of real strawberry

Had an awesome experience at Cookie's Drive-In. The food was absolutely delicious great burgers, crispy fries, and amazing shakes. What really made the experience stand out was the atmosphere and the people behind it. Jesse and his father make a great team, and you can genuinely feel the pride and care they put into the place. It has that classic small mom-and-pop diner feeling that's becoming rare nowadays. The little things in life like this are what truly make me happy. Definitely a spot worth supporting, and I'll absolutely be back.

Cookie's Drive In is an old fashion hamburger stand. It opened back in 1956 in East Sacramento on 57th and H Street, walking distance from CSU Sacramento's front entrance on J Street. It is awesome that they are still in business after all these years. It is divey, old school. Their current menu is huge. But the pricing is not. They offer the classic burger in 10 different ways four exotic burgers (ostrich, buffalo, elk, and wild boar), four different kinds of vegetarian burgers, 20 sandwiches (includes pastrami, Philly steak, catfish, salmon) , teriyaki bowls (chicken or beef), shrimp basket, chicken strips, fish n chips, and dessert offerings (frosties, swirlies (aka soft serve), shakes (with malt), freezes, and banana split). I luved the French fries. They reminded me of McDs. Same size. Crisp, golden fried fries. Fried to the perfect fineness. Touch of salt. Mmm. A small size cost $3.80. The baby burger ran about $5. Solid basic burger. It has chopped lettuce and pickles. The taco $3.80. I enjoyed it and hubs did not. The shell is a fried flour tortilla, he thought the shell and meat was too greasy. I disagreed. The meat was saucy and not greasy. I found the meat to be flavorful, and no not in a fatty greasy flavor kind of way. It had flavor from the seasoning. Sloppy goodness. Same taco, two different perspectives. This place is take out. Patrons can call in orders ahead of time. Time saver.Expect long waits during peak rush hours They have a few tables outside right along the parking lot, and to the ordering line and folks waiting. It gets awkwardly cozy crowded. Plus another important note is there are no restrooms.

Cool little roadside burger in East Sac that's def worth a stop. We ordered the 1/5 pound deluxe burgers and they were the perfect size. Service was great and food was made hot and fresh. Lots of different choices and vegetarian options on the menu. Might have to try the ostrich burger on the next round!

A top 10 burger place in sac for me tbh. So affordable and good! The fries are perfectly crispy and have great flavor and this was a SMALL loaded up! I love that they are the longer skinny fries too, work great for dipping in a milkshake. The burger was solid, only note was LOTS of mayo, which was fine just prob would add ketchup to counter act next time. I got the mushroom burger and the lil mushrooms were very tasty and complimented the burger nicely. It was cooked well and the cheese was gooey. Overall a great place if you want a cheaper delicious lunch! Fast service and love that the design is still what it was giving making it feel like the classic it is.

Old fashion drive inn This is ome of those throw back places. You come here to get that old school drive inn burger and fries and a shake. We were grabbing shakes after we took some youth to visit the Sacramento LDS temple and found this place on Yelp to get some shakes. The boys loved them. We had oreo, banana strawberry and oreo fudge. They were all good classic shakes. Next time we will try the food. But nice family run business. Go support them.

It doesn't say but they have ice cream cones. We ordered Oreo milk shakes strawberry milk shake and banana strawberry milkshake. Service was quick and eating is outside. Not many seats outside. Order at window. Strawberry banana shake is so good chunks of strawberries and bananas. As far as shakes go I'd come back for sure

Good food, good service. Apparently it's been around for decades, a piece of Sactown history. Included a menu photo with updated pricing.

So that's exactly what we did. For my sandwich I chose the Corti special. Basically you're able to choose your bread the toppings and some of the other condiments but you are not able to choose your mean. The person making your sandwich decides what they're going to put in it based on the different toppings and condiments you add to your sandwich. I will say that the service was quite quick there were four other people ahead of me and I will say I probably got my sandwich within 7 to 9 minutes. This was perfect time for me because I had never been to this specialty store before so I took that time to browse the area and the different aisles to understand what were some of the things sold there. I will say the space was surprisingly filled with items that were extremely high quality but reasonably priced. Also all the individuals working there were quite friendly they said hi and asked if I needed any help or assistance multiple times from different people. Now the sandwich itself I will say it did live up to the hype that was being tossed around all of Instagram. It was just so high quality when it came to the ingredients the bread was super fresh and each bite just had the perfect balance of meat to bread to condiment ratio. I highly recommend coming to try one of these sandwiches and one thing I didn't say earlier was at 9:00 a.m. it is not that packed so you definitely can get it early and again have it for your lunch later on.

The deli sandwiches is where it's at though, and there's always a long line. The sandwiches are so loaded! You get the order sheet to the left side of the deli and put your form in the basket. Then walk around the store and pick up delicious cheeses, charcuterie meats, snacks, and fresh pasta. Their ravioli is pretty famous and reminds me of an upgraded version of the nostalgic soft, square beef raviolis that I grew up eating. If you don't want to commit to the entire box of take-home ravioli, you can buy it by smaller tubs from the deli. After 20-30 mins, your sandwich should be ready for pickup. The workers there are so friendly and provide great service. They genuinely seem to like their jobs. We got one guy helping us out from one end of the deli to the other end and he was so patient and happy the entire time. There was a sweet lady handing out cheese samples as well. Everything I tried was so delicious. I especially loved how thin they slice the charcuterie meats where they are translucent when held up to the light. Can't wait to go back for their fresh pastas and homemade sauces.

This is a luxury. $20/large sandwich. Life isn't cheap. Things like this is a treat. So I took my son out to lunch. I asked to change the turkey for ham on a club sandwich, which already has ham, and is the cheaper meat.... and was told I would have to build the sandwich from scratch for $2 more. I wasn't asking for more meat, I wasn't asking to ADD meat, I was asking to simply change the more expensive meat for the cheaper lunch meat. Cashier standoffish, definitely didn't care about customer service, just a flat No build it yourself. Ok. No ty. Again, already a $20 sandwich. No thank you. When the sandwiches were ready, after at least 5 peoplewho came in behind us, another girl called out my name, but incorrect, no big deal. I stated mine in question form and she looked at me, rolled her eyes, and handed it to the cashier who handed it to me. I dont know what it was today, but even my child said it. He said everyone working was just "hella rude" and made him uncomfortable to want to return. Honestly, me too. Sandwiches, amazing. Everytime. Service? I could pass on the attitude. No accommodation or explanation to customers for a request, only an uncharge? Again, I could pass on that. The last two beat out the first everyday. The owner used to be in so often, all the workers were so nice, it was like the Dutch Bros of sandwich shops Not worth it for the price.
