Wanted to Love It... But I Can't Give It That 3rd Star I rarely give anything under 3 stars, but I just couldn't find anything in my experience that justified it this time. And honestly, that makes this one tough to write. I really wanted this to be a go-to burger spot since I pass by it often. But I can't, in good conscience, rate it higher when I left disappointed. The one thing that saved it from dropping lower? The milkshake. It was actually pretty good. Now, the service was solid for this type of setup. You order at the window, wait for your name to be called, and that process moved quickly. The staff member I interacted with was polite and cordial, so no issues there. What drew me in was the ambiance -- that outdoor, drive-in burger stand feel. It reminded me of going to Connie's back in the day. That nostalgic pull is what made me give it a shot. Unfortunately, that's where the similarity ended. The food just didn't deliver. If this was a one-time miss, or if I just picked the wrong item, let me know. I'm open to giving places another shot because I want businesses to succeed. But at the same time, reviews only work if we're honest about our experience. Very nice lady at the counter but it wasn't what i expected. Place was pretty dirty and didn't have much seating accommodations. It was a walk-up to a little window where they take your order and then you either sit outside in front or you can choose to sit inside a tiny little room with at most 3 or 4 small table and chairs. I was expecting a normal sized restaurant situation. Food was not good. The only thing that was ok were the burgers. Fries were crinkle cut style and wasn't cooked all the way. Do not order the chicken nuggets, I made the mistake of ordering that as well and it was basically "Store bought frozen nuggets, those were cold and soggy in the center when they can out. We went here and the service was good, but it was children. Still good! The onion rings were amazing and we both loved them! My boyfriend said his burger was fine and he would get it again. I got the western hot dog and it was terrible and I wouldn't get it again. The bun fell apart before I had opened up the hotdog wrapper, everything was cold and soggy, the barbecue sauce was way too sweet and had way too much going on and took over the hotdog. The onion rings in the hotdog were cold. The cheese was not spread evenly. The sausage was old and not juicy and just really bad. Just not a great hot dog. I want so bad to say the food is great, but sadly it's not. I have reviewed this place before under the previous owners. Since it changed hands again it has not been the same. I came in a few months ago and did not like the taste of the burger at all. In fact I could not eat it. I gave it about 6 months went back in hoping. But my hopes were dashed. Stopped here with a friend after playing 18 at Cordova and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Prices were very good. Ordered the bacon burger and got an Oreo Shake. Not very flavorful. 2) Western bacon cheeseburger-wasn't bad, just okay. 3) BLT-good. 4) Fries-crinkle cut, good. 5) Deep fried mushrooms-awful. Weird taste, too much breading, never again. 6) Onion rings, best out of the sides. Crispy and not over cooked. Ranch didn't taste homemade. Service was good. Wait was awhile, but they gave us a heads up when we ordered, so we sat inside the little patio room that thankfully has air-conditioning. It Looks like the menu has been updated and shortened. Man talk about disappointment. Have been wanting to try this place since I moved here 5 years ago half the time I pass it it is closed. Will be surprised if they survive. Finally tried them for a burger and fried mushrooms both were sad. The burger appears to be a frozen patty for one and it was overcooked and cold in the middle if that makes any sense. O seasoning inside a ton of salt on the outside. Tomatoes looked sad not red and limp. Lettuce completely wilted onion overpowering. Wow! And excellent burger and very friendly on professional service. I recently moved to the Elk Grove area and work nearby. I've driven many times by this establishment, but never stopped. A few weeks ago I decided to try this place because I was super hungry. I was more than very happily surprised to find that the workers here are very friendly and give great service. Matt turns out wickedly delicious burgers (Not a Halloween pun !) and Arianna greets guests with a warm and heartfelt smile whilst taking the orders. I haven't gotten the name of the other server but she is also wonderful. Their professionalism and demeanor is exceptional It's not that often that I run into an establishment that that serves awsome food and that hires great employees with good attitudes and super great service. Can't wait to try more of the items on their menu. I highly recommend this place as the number one spot to go to when you're famished and need something very tasty. read more

Today was an extremely lengthy wait time @ 11am and second person to order. 40+ mins for a plain burger, shake and fries is absurd. I have never waited this long for even a sit down burger place on a peak Friday night. Update to a 1 star review. After the lengthy wait I was about to take a bite into my burger with a strand of hair in it. An off day with extremely slow time to have food ready is one thing, but the hair is a hard no! They did offer to remake but I absolutely declined and just wanted a refund. Service needs to be better and more welcoming. Cleanliness lacks exterior and interior from what I saw in the shake area.
