I have been to Suzie's before and had their bacon cheeseburger. It was good! But the gal told me to try their cheese steak sandwich which I did...today. When I asked for a suggestion, both guys said cheese steak. The one claiming "best in Sacramento ". It came out promptly even though they were pretty busy for Saturday lunch. It looked and smelled good but a bit small, the length of my hand. The steak was tender not chewy, the roll was soft. It completely lost structural integrity by the end of the sandwich. The cheese was good. They say American but it was white...no Kraft Singles here. It had onions and green bell peppers, which was fine but they were huge chunks. Dicing them would have been better. But the single thing that blew it? Way too salty! It was the very first thing I noticed. I had a side of jalapeño ranch which helped but salt dominated this thing. $12 for an okay cheese steak sandwich by itself? Nah, for the size and quality, it's overpriced by about three bucks. I'm a regular here. This place has gone downhill and has never been this bad. The manager sucks. Made a phone order. Ordered chicken repeated it multiple times. Got to the restaurant, they had made Beef. The other half of the order died in the window while we were waiting for the remake and then the manager practically couldn't be bothered to give us fresh fries, let alone remake the soggy cold hamburger that got cold from sitting for 20 minutes while they fix their mistake. I got to try Suzie Burger through Door Dash. My first thought is that it took too long. I'm not sure if they were busy or not, but I know I had a dasher leave because they were waiting too long, so another dasher accepted the order. The food was good, but the prices were too steep. The best things were the onion rings and the French fries. I actually really like the skinny fries, but again I think the price was too high. The place is decent, kind of feels like 1980's burger joint or maybe older. It looks like an automotive shop which I believe it may have been at one point in time. Service was great, nice, and friendly welcoming servers. Their burgers are decent, a little small, but cooked nicely medium. The taste was fresh, from the meat to the lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. I kind of wish it had onions. I normally eat my burgers with some ketchup and mustard, but having to try the burger the way it is should be the first bite. Almost felt like a McDonald's meets a Disney "the incredibles" mash up. Despite that attempted blend of two great American creations, I was not impressed. I elected for a basic single cheeseburger with fries. On first look, nothing special or inspiring, but that's fine. The fries were crispier than I imagined, but lacked that salty, fatty flavor you would expect in a fast food fry and were a bit cool temperature wise. I found the burger to be lackluster. It was a small patty that was well done accompanied by basic condiments. The bun was fine. Otherwise, I don't see why I wouldn't go to the Golden Arches first. The combo meals could have been better. The shoestring fries were really crispy, the burgers were thrown together, and an order of onion rings for $5.95 only had five onion rings in the container. The Philly cheesesteak could have had more meat. The chili dog needed more chili. When asked for the key to use the restroom, was told that the key had been locked in the bathroom. REALLY?? The young man just stood there with no effort to get a backup key, which you know they had, and go unlock the door. Not uneven an apology for no bathroom use. Prices are expensive for a burger (sandwich), fries/ soda. The soda was all carbon. I tossed out my 1st soda and got another one, thinking it would improve, but it was the same, nothing but carbon. I had a Philly Cheese. I asked for steak sauce because it was dry. The guy at the counter had no idea what " steak sauce" was. I then asked for any kind of sauce. He offered me BBQ sauce. He proceeded to tell me it would be an additional 0.85 for it. I'm thinking ok, whatever! He gives me the sause, and it's about 1/2 teaspoon, and it was almost a $1. Crazy! For 2 people to eat it was $34 plus tip for 1 burger combo & 1 Philly combo. Not sure I will eat there again. The Sub Shack in East Sac gets it when it comes to providing condiments, including steak sauce for a Philly. read more

A nice burger place with plenty of space. I wouldn't hesitate to bring a sports team here. The burgers are tasty. Our 4 yr old was able to eat about half of the kid burger but couldn't stop eating the fries. I had a double bacon cheeseburger. It's good but as greasy as it sounds. I got the onion rings. We tried Suzie Burger for the first time a few days ago. We are very glad we did. My wife had the bacon cheeseburger. I had the double cheeseburger. They offer mushrooms and peppers complimentary and had grilled or fresh onions. The burgers are delicious. I had lemonade. She had a root beer float. They gave her a cup with soft serve ice cream in it. She got to add as much root beer as she wanted. This is a cool place that was once a gas station. I haven't been to Suzie Burger in a long time and I must say, the food quality has gone down a lot. My husband and I used to love their food too. We checked them out for dinner last night and being on a healthy kick, I ordered their house salad and my husband ordered the Philly Cheesesteak that he used to love. Obviously since this is known for being a burger joint, the salad was mediocre at best (my fault), but my husband said the Philly was nowhere good as it used to be. I tried it and I agreed. I do love the inside that used to be a car shop garage though and all of the spacey Suzie decor. Lots of seating on both sides of the restaurant as well. The guy who took our order was friendly, but the service was very slow. They weren't very busy and there was only 1 party in front of us when we arrived, so I'm not really sure why it took 15-20 minutes for our food to come out. I've been back numerous times over the years and the burgers have only gotten better! Today was exceptional, I'm not sure when they made it an option for free additional grilled onions, mushrooms but I added both to my double cheeseburger with bacon and got some pickled jalapeños on the side for free as well.
