He brought all the ingredients and taught us tips like how to cut an onion without crying and the right way to cut a mango! The best mai tai of my life started us off. Then he made mahi mahi with chutney, and a Caribbean themed main dish of mango sauce marinated ribs and slaw. Dessert was bananas foster due to time, he had other options including flan, but flan takes too long. Generally, it's a 4 hour night with eating at the end, so plan accordingly. The perfect Friday evening hang out with friends and learn something new. Highly recommend, especially as a gift to friends.

Chef Matt takes care of everything -- the food, the cooking utensils and cookware and the cleanup. All you have to do is select a menu, pick a date for the cooking session in your home kitchen and decide how active you want to be during the class. I chose a Spanish theme so we made patatas bravas, Gambas al Ajillo (Garlic Shrimp), Serrano Ham, Manchego, Pear and Carmelized Onion Puff Pastry Bites, and Vegetarian Paella. I cook and bake a lot, so it was great being able to pick Chef Matt's brain for tips and tricks to improve my skills. If you have a foodie in your life this is an awesome gift/experience for them!

He prepared an excellent Mexican menu and we're still talking about the mole & the flank steak with corn salad. During that dinner he mentioned he does pig roasts. This weekend, he roasted a pig for 30 people, with delicious sides our friends couldn't stop complimenting. We had corn salad, potato salad, Mac n cheese & coleslaw. Chef Walter takes the pressure of hosting a party off your plate! My wife and I were able to relax with our friends. Not only was the food delicious, but the kitchen is left clean and tidy. Something you really appreciate the next day. I would highly recommend hiring Chef for a private dinner or pig roast!

To match the luxury super yacht vibes, we hired Chef Walter to curate a boujie menu consisting of yummy hand-held bites for about 20 guests. I had never worked with a personal chef before but let me tell you, Chef Walter made this process so incredibly easy. He was so personable and he understood the assignment immediately. I gave him some ideas and he put together a menu that night. He was able to tweak the menu to accommodate our budget constraints. During the day of the event, Chef showed up two hours before the event to get everything set up. He came with presentation platters and decorations. He stayed throughout the party and made sure all the food that was served stayed fresh and that nothing sat out for too long. Towards the end of the party, Chef cleaned up the entire kitchen and left everything spotless. I cannot recommend Chef Walter enough and I can't wait to work with him again! Thank you Chef!

The first time I took the exam, the Proctor spent an hour trying to get in contact with a member of FCPS's IT staff to get the license for the software needed to take my exam. This delay definitely took me off my game, and may have been a contributing factor to my failing of the exam by one question. For my retake, it was discovered while I was waiting for the exam that PC used to proctor the exam had not been updated, and would take until after 9pm at night to finish updating. Luckily, the Proctor was willing to come in on her off day so that I could take the exam before my certification deadline. In addition, scheduling the exams were a massive pain, with the admin staff in charge of registration often transferring my call to a person not in the office, resulting in having to play phone tag for over an hour in order to get the exam scheduled each time. Although the Proctors were friendly, professional, and went above and beyond the call of duty, the lack of support from the rest of FCPS's Adult and Community Education staff proved to be extremely detrimental to my experience, which is why I must give them a 2 star review. Until this situation changes, I can not recommend FCPS's ACE program to anyone.

To start, I reached out to Chef Bernard based on the Yelp reviews to see if he could prepare a romantic dinner for my husband and I on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015. He was available and agreed to serve us. From the start, he was very professional and communicated well. He sent me sample menus with options galore. If there was something on the menu that I wanted mixed up a little, he had no objections. My husband is a very 'simple' eater so I wanted to know if the Chef could also prepare something 'simple' like Potato Au Gratin. Whew....he did and it was sooooooo good! He arrived at our home in what I call his mobile kitchen (because he had everything in it that one could imagine), introduced himself to us and got down to business. We had a few small plate items, entree and dessert. He talked to us while he prepared the meals and it simply felt like he was a friend. It did not feel weird or awkward having him in our kitchen at all. It was great! He gave us tips on cooking at he prepared meals and spoke to us more about who he was (in and out of the kitchen). Some of the items we enjoyed were: 1. Pork chimichangas 2. Cajun eggrolls 3. Peking duck rolls 4. Filet (cooked to order) 5. Potato au gratin 6. Broccoli w/cheese 7. Cheese blintzes wi/ a strawberry wine sauce 8. Crab cakes Everything was perfect! He served us well and we could not have asked for a better experience. We are looking forward to more dinner parties with him in our home. If you are looking for a chef to help you make a memorable event, Chef Bernard is your answer. He also prepares weekly meals for you or your family. My husband really enjoyed the food and he is still raving about it. We tried items we typically would never try in a restaurant. We loved it and we are true fans!

The food is farm to table and always arrive in neatly packaged containers every Sunday evening so we have dinners stocked to enjoy the following week. I have had meal services with others before and this is by far the most skilled cooking of farm to table meals. I think it's a good value. One recent review I read was really not fair about "scam". That's just not true but I understand the frustration that led to a misunderstanding. I know the owner/chef was busy and working to try improve their marketing, ordering app, and communications. It's a small business so you just have to contact her directly if there is an issue and she will take care of it. I did that every time and I was patient because I want this good cooking to last to feed my family. Seems like great people. I've spoken to her and met the staff who deliver food to my house. We look forward to ordering each week!
