Beck Northway Collision

Beck Northway Collision

Beck Northway Collision didn't fix my vehicle since it was totaled by my car insurance, but John…read morewas very kind and professional. He was able to give me a rough estimate shortly after my accident. He worked with my insurance to find what it would cost to fix my car. He seems knowledgeable of working with insurance field adjuster. My personal belonging was set aside when I went to pickup my things. (My insurance company request that I remove all my belongings including license plate.) FYI: according to my insurance, it is $100/day to keep the car on Beck Northway Collision's property. This was because my insurance notify me of the cost to repair my car on a Friday. My insurance wanted to hear back from me by Monday because it was gonna cost my insurance $100/day for my car to sit there.

Both were late model current production vehicles. In both cases I had multiple estimates, and not only did Beck Northway Collision save me money over other large shops but I was happier with the results than with any of the past repairs I've had done with my various vehicles by well known Twin City body shops I've used in the past. With both my cars I had repaired at Beck Northway Collision John was able to get me in very fast and the work itself on the more extensively damaged car was finished within 3 days. The color on the Toyota was one of the newest colors they are offering and the color matched the plastic replacement panels which had to be painted with the other steel painted body sections perfectly. Not only was the finish a perfect match but the fit of the replacement panels was also perfect and looks factory new. Even small things, like the way the the license plate was mounted into the new front body panel showed attention to detail and perfection. I wouldn't hesitate to use Beck Northway Collision in the future and will highly recommend this shop to friends and family. I wish I had known about them sooner. Jon Howard

Gales had treated me fairly in the past, so I have returned the favor with my loyalty as a local customer. Unfortunately, Gales sold out to a corporate company called Classic Collision and things are no longer the same here. Tony was my estimator, and my bill was paid out of pocket. The final bill came in at $1,971 more than Tony's original estimate (over 25%). $697 of this was due to their installer breaking my windshield. In the contract I had signed, it stated that "estimate for visible damages only." "All repairs subject to change for part price increases and/or possible hidden damages." My windshield was a result of neither. The installer broke my windshield during the paint job, and Tony made me pay for it. I told him I could not afford to pay this unexpected added cost, especially on top of his other unexpected and added costs. I was threatened with storage fees if I did not come pick up my truck and pay in full. I did my due diligence, and I called around to reputable glass companies. I received quotes for how much would it be glass companies to replace the exact same windshield, in my driveway. I was shocked to hear that Gales/Classic had charged me several hundred dollars more than any and all reputable local glass shops that I had contacted. On top of that, Gales/Classic used aftermarket/non original parts without my consent. The windshield on my truck was an original/OEM, and without cracks or damage. I brought the significant price difference to Tony's attention. He refused to drop the price and proceeded to argue with me on his lobby. I ended up going home without my truck. A week later they assured me that they would not budge on the price, and that they were sticking with the bill on this overpriced aftermarket windshield that their installer broke while my vehicle was in their possession. I ended up paying the bill, but my attorney is assuring me that we will win this in court. What has occurred here was nothing less than criminal! When you break something, you should fix it! You have lost a loyal, lifetime customer.

On my way home I noticed the time and thought I would pop in to ask for an estimate appointment. I entered the office to owner Joe & told him what I would be requesting. Joe kindly suggested we step outside and estimate the damage. I showed him the few small defects; he noted that the headlight placement had been damaged and that likely all repairs would be roughly $2100. I asked if they did loaner cars during the repair? They do not, but if it's the other persons insurance they should allow a rental car. I discussed the "Selected Service Shops" the insurance had suggested. He stated that those places are usually commission based and that Wayne-Val is just him, his wife & brother-in-law compared to larger shops that are 20+ associates. I feel confident in leaving my vehicle w Wayne-Val and will do another yelp/update this one once I have actually had my vehicle repaired. I appreciated that Joe quoted me a realistic 19 February as what I'd be looking at for a service date. I mostly appreciated that Joe told me some of the questions that the insurance may ask, such as: do I approve used parts? He said I don't have to say yes and he wouldn't recommend used parts and it could only save insurance a couple hundred dollars. Thanks Wayne-Val for a wonderful and knowledgeable customer service experience!
