My wife and I visited this coffee shop on beautiful Anna Maria Island, FL this morning and we had a great coffee experience. The shop is very convenient right on the corner/right across the street from Anna Maria Island Pier, is nicely decorated on the outside of the shop and on the inside of the shop, employee Mandy is friendly, patient, and makes delicious coffee drinks, the menu has a surprising variety of drinks (with a tone of different kinds of flavored syrup) and food items (including sno cones!, and the breakfast I just ate from their shops was sooo delish!), and their FREE WiFi was solid. read more

We had a lengthy time span between check out at the Airbnb and check in at the airport. We decided to wander around the island to take in the last bit of relaxation before returning to the insanity of our jobs. We drove down to where the Anna Maria pier once was to walk around the shops in that area. We both wanted coffee and something light to eat and how could you not stop at a place called Cool Beans? We are both children of the 80's and that is certainly a throwback to our childhood. First glance inside revealed a quaint shop with a ton of local fare inside. They don't just sell coffee, smoothies, and breakfast sandwiches. The place was very clean and there were a handful of seating options. We both ordered Americanos and bagel breakfast sandwiches. The coffee was delicious and fresh. The sandwiches were very tasty and hit the spot but if I'm being perfectly honest, there was nothing that made them stand out among all the other breakfast sandwiches I've eaten. It's very difficult to make your breakfast sandwich stand out but they certainly tried their best. The cheese options were a little on the unusual side and having feta cheese made it all the better. I would rate this place a little above a 4 star (maybe 4.5) but there is so much "stuff" in the place that it makes it feel cramped and uncomfortable. My only regret is not ordering a smoothie. Their smoothies looked absolutely delicious and had I tried one of those, I may have given them 5 stars. If you are wandering the island, I highly recommend trying this place. I love the fact that most of the items for sale were local and it had the "shop local" vibe but as soon as Cool Beans AMI can move to a larger place, I would definitely recommend it. My husband and I love going to this coffee shop. It's a cute little coffee shop near the pier where you can grab some food and drinks and enjoy a relaxing time near the ocean. I had an excellent first experience with an enthusiastic, friendly & dedicated barista who opened the door for me, made a great iced latte and served me some great pastries for the next couple days in my beach house. I like that they have their own roastery and great tasting espresso bean. Enjoyed an excellent $2 lemon mini-macaron. Both the cherry & the apple Danishes were made with canned fruit and excellent. Loved the raspberry cupcake. As for negatives, it's a weird lay-out, making it crowded, with 2 awkward entrances and a skinny passing space along one edge. They were out of a main product, fresh-squeezed o.j. They could've used two employees. They don't sell shirts that say "Cool Beans". They sell edible products with cannabis in them which I don't support in non-cannabis labeled stores, so not likely to return.) read more

The owner and staff are wonderful and friendly. Yikes. Worst coffee we had on the island all week. Hard do not recommend. - TASTE: we drink mochas regularly and tried four shops during our week on AMI, this was clearly the worst. The drink consisted of maybe one shot of espresso, 4 cups of milk and a teaspoon of chocolate sauce drizzled on the sides and lid of the cup. It was just a milk drink with a hint of espresso and zero chocolate. - SERVICE: the woman at the register and another making the drink were all very friendly and happy to chat. Looked like a nice little shop to try out... my wife had a pumpkin spice latte and she said there was absolutely no flavor and she advised that it was one of the worst coffees she's ever had. Fruit smoothies for the kids also had no taste. The white chocolate latte for me was, however, average. We will not return and will be trying out different coffee shops. read more

GREAT service. The barista was super nice and makes the food fresh. She pays attention to detail and cares about your experience. The shop is really cool they have a ton of delta 8/9 products that are local based. They also sell some CBD/delta drinks if you don't want to drink alcohol - which was cool because I didn't know those existed until I went there. I was hungry so I opted for a smoothie, and was psyched to see they offer protein, which tells me they really care about healthy food. Wanted to check out a local coffee shop and this one popped up - I was excited to check it out when I saw the food menu but was very underwhelmed when I got there. It's very small and looks more like a convenience shop than anything else. I was hoping for a family friendly place where my son and I could enjoy a nice breakfast together on a weekend morning before the beach crowds went nuts. I got a red eye (black)- the barista recommended having it hot. It was pretty tasty which is why it gets 4 stars but loses one for lack of atmosphere. read more

Stopped by Cool Beans with some friends today for a coffee and a quick breakfast. I got the Avacado toast, which was actually amazing. It included goat cheese and everything bagel seasoning. The lady taking my order recommended a Lavender Vanilla Iced Matcha with oatmilk. The flavor was a great idea. It was pretty good, but a little watery, and I would've liked some more ice. After, we took a walk down the pier which is conveniently located right outside the cafe. I had a pretty good experience, and I would definitely go back for the Avacado Toast. read more

We have had a pleasant experience in the past but today's service was not so great. The place closes at 2pm but they turned off and cleaned the fresh squeezed orange juice machine in advance so that item was not available. They seemed more concerned with cleaning up for closing than focusing on the customer. If end of day cleanup is supposed to be finished by 2pm then close at 1:30pm.
