Cool beans is a nice place but the service always is slow and the seating is not very spacious. This is a place for people to camp out and not be courteous at times to their patrons who need to sit, especially in cold or wet weather where outside seating isn't really an option. They really need to work on their speed of service as waiting 10 minutes for a cup of tea seems a bit much. Their prices are somewhat competitive vs the Bucks but overall this isn't a great place to go if have to drive/park and then wait for mediocre customer service. read more

Great coffee place right in the heart of Marietta Square, came here with Ravi on Saturday night right after Owl-O-Ween. The place has very chill hipster atmosphere and the decor with some interesting art was really cool, specially loved the Nightmare Before Christmas theme they had going on. It was kinda cold so I just got got a small hot chocolate and it was delicious, don't really remember what Ravi got but it was really good too, I need to go back and try some of their actual coffee next time, but it smelled great and keep hearing good things about it. Better than I remember in high school. I have this nostalgia of the days I used to sit here all day or all night, even after closing hours. So, naturally, when I'm back in town, meeting an old friend for coffee I'll always pick here. Coffee is on point, the ladies behind the bar know what they are doing. Stopped here on my tour of Atlanta and it was an awesome local coffee shop. Great coffee, cool atmosphere, and amazing art on the walls. FunNy menu and kind of long line which just reassured I was in the right place for an afternoon pick me up. I got a latte and the almond milk add on was only .50 cent more. They had SEVERAL non dairy alternatives. If I was a local this would be my go to spot. read more

This cafe's biggest downside is that if you want to meet up with someone there, you have to say, "Hey, want to meet at Cool Beans?" I might be picky, but, to avoid this, I usually end up calling it Courmier's, which it was known as until semi-recently. The hours are also not as reliable as a more corporate gig, but that's one of the good things about it, and it's a good place to sit when it is open. The outdoor seating is in a nice courtyard (ignore the rat trap), and the indoor seating is replete with shelves of books, magazines, and board games. There's even a little Starry Night room if you want some more privacy. If you like hearing trains go by, however, make sure to sit outside. The desserts here are better than some of the nearby bakeries, and walking down the long corridor to the bathroom is so much more exciting than being handed the key to a door right in plain sight. read more

I've had bad experiences with the employees here being super unprofessional but the two employees working this morning finally pushed me over the edge. I will not return to this spot. The male & female employees made fun of a customer after she walked away as I was standing right there. She then went on to say how tired she was and was talking about how high she got at a concert. The male employee proceeded to let out a loud burp. Disgusting and rude. The manager here needs to review his employees more carefully. read more

Good local spot and you can still easily find free parking on "The Square". They have a few prime "one man" cubbyholes up front... If you need to hunker down and get jacked up on caffeine to study I imagine they would be perfect. Out back is a really cool common area away from cars, with old trees growing up between the even older brick pagers, really nice. The coffee roaster is the dominate decor, and gets cranked up regularly. I missed that but will be back to sample other beans....they have a variety. I tend to like coffee shops owned by people who really like coffee. This place is definitely that. read more

Usually have a really good experience at this place, but today I came into the facility to do some homework. I had planned on being at the shop for a while with the idea of purchasing a drink.... Because who goes to a coffee shop without getting a delicious cup of joe? This time around after being at the shop one of the baristas (female) decided to approach me and let me know that I needed to purchase a drink since it comes with using the wifi password. WAIT, WHAT? I've never been approached by a barista to force me to purchase a drink on THEIR time. I love the square because I LOVE supporting local restaurants in the area. I come to this area a lot... Sooo...note to self... I'll never be supporting this local business again or recommending them to friends out of town. Very rude and not a place I want to support. Despite its somewhat questionable name, Cool Beans has really grown on me. All of their offerings are quite good. There's a decent selection of beans, freshly roasted in house; note the huge roaster sitting near back of the room, which they run a couple of times a week. Teas are by Mighty Leaf, and the delicious pastries are brought in from Douceur de France, a small bakery and cafe located a few blocks to the south. It's a convenient way to get that almond croissant without having to leave the Square. The interior is comfortable enough, with a cozy little nook at the front to get some studying done. But if it's a nice day, keep walking past the big red roaster to the patio outside. There, you'll find a wide-open space with a few wrought-iron tables, the branches of an old tree hanging overhead, historic buildings blocking the noise of street traffic. Sound relaxing? For the most part, yes; you'll just have to get used to the trains rumbling by every so often, I suppose. Prices are reasonable all around, and if you make sure to get your card stamped, every tenth drink is on the house. There's a small Cool Beans kiosk on the other side of the Square in the courthouse lobby, though if you don't have a Cobb County badge, the gentlemen from the sheriff's department can be annoyingly thorough with regard to security. read more

We love the atmosphere, the drinks, the edibles and everything. Very busy weekend mornings so expect to wait a bit. This is not Starbucks so the wait is part of the enjoyment. The baristas are friendly and informative but not overly so when busy. The new expansion helps with seating even if it does change the atmosphere somewhat. Today the tables from the courtyard have been moved to the street-side sidewalk. I don't know if that is permanent but the courtyard is great on nice days so I hope they put tables back out there. These guys claim to have the greatest espresso beans since Juan Valdez but what I received were old bags that could no longer be frozen to suspend the maturation process and were already well into their peak flavor window. Don't claim to be a pro if you're going to act like an amateur. It would be easier for me to just pick up a bag of beans from Kroger if I want to drink substandard espresso. read more

I found out about this spot because they had a rep & samples at Whole Foods. Coffee is delicious. Cookies were even better and not to heavy & unhealthy tasting. It's a great spot to hang out and read a book or do some work. The line gets long & the wait can be heavy if only one person is working. The atmosphere is calm so I prefer CB over Starbucks. I'm actually not that big of a coffee drinker, but I do think it's interesting how this coffee shop has this huge, red, authentic coffee roaster machine thing next to the check out line. Every half hour or so, they'll turn on the machine and the shop fills with aromatic scents of freshly roasted coffee beans. I ordered a chai latte, which was standard. They have lots of tea choices so next time I think I'll try those. I also had an everything brownie which was decadent and so moist, it was like eating fudge with nuts and caramel in square form. I came for a pretty solid study session and actually got a lot of work done. However, I don't know if I'd recommend it as a study spot. The coffee roasting machine wasn't exactly quiet, and the train that runs next to Marietta Square kept going by every 15 minutes and it is LOUD. read more
