I notice they are smaller and outsourced. gumbo soup was sorta ok although very spicy, and while it did have a few pieces of okra it was pretty obvious there was no roux I always stopped by for a drink or a snack on my (frequent) visits to Providence. no more the staff was friendly and helpful

Years ago when I was an employee on this campus, I remember taking the long hike to this Cafe for…read moretheir wonderful calzones, pizzas and sandwiches. It was always VERY different than the main Cafe and warranted a call from the office to find out what their specials were. The ratio of quality, price and serving size was almost always a better deal than the cafeteria. I recently moved to UMed and was wondering if the Cafe still made these great deals. I wasn't disappointed. I tried their special of the day, chicken bacon ranch calzone (or Stromboli if you're from Jersey). Damn, it was good. I'm saving half for lunch tomorrow. It had wonderful veggies that weren't overcooked, in addition to tasty ranch sauce, bacon and chicken, with marina on the size (not needed.) They had a lot of other great selections today, including some great looking soups and sandwiches. I'll definitely be making this a regular stop for lunch. Best kept secret in Anchorage. Cheaper than a lot of places too. So bizarre it's a hospital Cafe. Bring your own drink and your tab will be under 8 bucks. When the weather is nice you can take your lunch down to the ground floor patio next to the Creek. In the winter, the second floor tables have a beautiful view of the snowy forest and sometimes their is live music in the lobby below. My favorite spot to enjoy my lunch in the 2nd floor lobby adjacent to the Cafe next to the fireplace. There's alsona few tables nestled between the large tropical plants on the sky bridge, which can be very soothing on cold winter day, and has an amazing view of the mountains.

A rather large tea shop that also serves food!!!! That's a pleasant surprise. Tea is tea, but this…read moreplace is not just a tea shop. The ambiance with the customer service makes this place where you want your next get together with friends, families, and business partners. It's quiet, isolated, great interior design, and just straight up comfortable. Definitely a pick above Starbucks or even most local coffee shops where I will continue to return. I'm glad to have this shop in Anchorage, adds to our lacking culture. Plus, it's conveniently located next to many stores I visit often anyway!

Nice atmosphere, good customer service, plenty of menu options, quite a lovely spot for Anchorage…read moresince they steep all their loose leaf herbal teas upon order. I smelt delicious brownies baking in the back and I was considering waiting to get some, especially since they had sold out! I would try those. Bad news, they got my order wrong, maybe I would've liked it more? (not the end of the world) The tea was quite watered down (perhaps not steeped long enough? Too much water?) But I was extremely disappointed especially considering the quality of the teas and the location identifying as a tea house. My partner said it was quite watery as well. I feel terrible writing a less than pleasant review but my friend really gassed this place up and I got a cute mug and kitty figurine, but the tea was not it
