I went to this location today with a friend for some coffee talk and the experience was NOT what I was expecting. Off the bat, trying to find parking at this location is awful. The service was terrible, unless you enjoy being treated poorly, eye rolls and demeaning body language included free of charge. Asked what I thought was a simple question but 2 employees didn't know the answer. One of them clearly didn't want to be bothered. Cleanliness was also not the best. I wasn't asked if I wanted whipped cream on my latte so I had to ask the barista and hand my drink back to get some. Mysterious wet spots where you pick up your drink that I ended up accidentally touching and got the ICK. Long story short try a different location or another coffee shop altogether. read more

Had to stop and get some more Covenant House Blend at a second location today! Jan 1 they always donate to a local nonprofit and I truly wanted to support today as it's going to Covenant House! Forgot to take photos. Some days the wait is long some days it goes fast either way the food and drinks are great and consistent! I've always grabbed things to go so I don't know about ordering and staying in, but they do have a drive through and lots of parking. I've had a few lattes from here and a vegetarian breakfast burrito that was super filling! If you're in a rush to get to work this is probably the best coffee shop to stop in to! read more

Is this the flagship Kaladi's? I think this is the flagship Kaladi's. Staff here were the best part. Service was: friendly, fast, and masked. They had some decent grab-n-go treats too. An awesome and eclectic line up of coffees some OG coffee drinks like lungo, get a drip, get a cappuccino and everything in between. Menu is kind of hard to read from the back of the socially distanced line, but once you're closer they have a very cool artistic chalk menu that lists the drink name, available sizes, and what's in them all portioned out in the drawn up cup they have for each drink. We're new to the area so once the whole floor plan is open again for hanging out and lounging we see ourselves walking down for coffee, pulling out a book, and chillin'! My wife got a spicy chai which was good for a sweetened chai, she said it was still on the sweet side for her although it did have good flavor. For our second trip she had a roibos tea, definitely a good quality leaf! I had the daily drip and it was good black coffee, no complaints and look forward to whatever is next in their rotation. This is where you want to get your coffee in the morning! We recently took a short trip to Alaska and was recommended this place by a friend. We ended up going here every day of our trip! Highly recommend the Kaladi latte and mocha herw but their drip is pretty darn good too! Kaladi americano was also quite good. We also had the breakfast biscuits and burritos which were tasty (although the biscuit was a bit dry since it was pre-packaged). For not being the biggest (referring to Anchorage, compared to a place like Seattle) place to be know for their coffee Kaladi Brothers does well with their options for customers and execution of drinks and menu items. My favorite coffee spot with the exception of one location. The service gets worse, they had a great team before. I ordered a cup of almond milk with one of their cookies because I am pregnant and I do not drink a lot of caffeine. They charged my for whole milk $3.50 an 8 oz cup, and the "server" acted weird about it. She literally serves beverages for a living and it was the most awkward service in front of a bunch of people. I came down here during the week to resume my studies for a Microsoft cert on Server Configuration. This Kaladi's is the original location where the business first started back in 1986 and is still one of the most popular coffee spots today. If you're not familiar with the neighborhood, this place can be tricky to find. The café is located off of Brayton Rd. which is a one-way street that runs along the side of the Seward Highway on the northbound-side. The best ways to get here are by turning onto Brayton Dr. from Dimond Blvd under the bridge or taking 68th St. from Lake Otis going west-bound towards the highway but making a left before Brayton to enter the rear of the coffee shop. The seating area is by far one of the largest and best in terms of layout and availability, very similar to the one down in Jewel Lake. The interior has a country, rustic look mixed with a modern décor that has a cozy and laid-back feel to it. This is one of the most popular spots for college students to hang out and study after school. Wi-Fi is fast and very secure here with a password and no issues of outside users accessing your laptop from an open connection like Starbucks. The employees here are friendly and quick to serve you as always and they do an exceptional job moving the long lines during a rush. Coffee drinks are always great here. My usual order during the summer are their Mocha Frappes as well as an Iced Pour-over blend (Mexican or Congo) to cool off in the afternoons. Aside from the standard Americanos, Lattes, and Cappucinos, they also have weekly soup and sandwich specials that change every week. I've had their Clam Chowder, Chicken with Wild Rice, and Beef Chili. All of their soups are delicious and they give you a hearty portion in their bowl size with two slices of Sourdough bread and butter. Other offerings include pastries like Gluten-free Brownies, Cookies, Croissants, Muffins, and one of my personal favorites with coffee whenever this is available, is the Hummingbird Cake (an oversized slice of butter coffee cake with walnuts and a good amount of cinnamon). This is one of my top choices for coffee shops here in town and they have a decent amount of parking spaces by the front. The café also has separate rooms reserved for business meetings, social gatherings, or large groups. There's also a piano for anyone who wants to play at one end of the café as well as numerous art paintings for sale by local artists displayed on all of the walls. The laid-back feel has given this place a large number of regulars who come here to gather with friends, read a book, play board games, or get work done on their laptop. An Anchorage original, my mom started coming here in the '80s when they first opened, and the tradition carried on with me as I grew up and developed a taste for the magical wonder drug that coffee is. Live music and sweet vibes, baskets full of books and newspapers, and a variety of seating arrangements and artwork made this a favorite hangout during my teen and college years. Now, as a visitor to my hometown, Kaladi's is always a mandatory stop. These people know coffee. Great coffee. Not the burnt, mass-packaged crap that comes from a place in Seattle that shall remain unnamed in this review... In fact, they have a hilarious sign in the drive-through explaining how to order like you're at a real coffeehouse, versus an Anytown, USA or airport chain. My standby is a mocha breve with whipped cream (and funny, they don't correct me here when I order one by repeating back *breve mocha* like that dime-a-dozen joint either, but I digress...). They have rotating roasts that they offer for your Americano, depending on the day or season, as well as all the other typical coffee libations available. You can get it dairy free, or soy free, or fat free, or whatever, or, you can just go full boost with the breve like me. Hot teas are brewed as you order them, and they are happy to ice them for you. It's hard to beat fresh-brewed iced tea when you're really thirsty (and again, far superior to the made-from-concentrate variety found at the McDonald's of coffeehouses). Italian sodas and cream sodas are also available (that's what I used to order in my pre-coffee consuming youth). It's the best place to get your beans for brewing your coffee at home too. They roast their own beans on site, including an occasional batch of Kona beans, so if they have them in stock and you're in the mood for the best coffee in the world, grab a couple pounds of those to take home and savor every last sip -- the stuff is like liquid gold with a matching, yet appropriate price tag. Worst Service Ever!! I went to this Kaladi on 10/11/21 about 5:45ish & the baristas didn't even acknowledge me! After she noticed we were standing there, we ordered: An Iced Featured Coffee... and to which she responded: we do not make iced coffee here because it comes out hot at 200° (which is 100% false... all other locations have served it.) She begrudgingly gave it to us. Also, We ordered a classic cappuccino, I received basically a latte. it was all milk & not even a Millimetre of foam! When I asked her to remake it she said they don't remake drinks as it's against policy. Will never go to the Brayton Kaladi ever again. read more

Kaladi's has the best coffee in Anchorage and all of Alaska! I have been coming here since I was a little kid with my parents and will be a fan for life as long as they continue to produce great coffee. My wife and I visit Kaladi's every chance we get when we're visiting my parents in Anchorage. This location is great for working on your laptop and the free wi-fi is much appreciated. The staff is very nice and has become even friendlier on our two most recent trips. Lastly, the Red Goat coffee is my new favorite and we now use that instead of Trieste for our espresso at home. Terrible! I asked for an iced latte with 2 pumps of sugar free vanilla syrup. The barista did not have pumps for that particular syrup (which is fine but you should tell the customer) and just poured like 3 ounces of syrup in the cup! It was terrible! I will not be going back. read more
