It's frustrating when the online info says the business is open and we drive all the way across town to find them closed.

Ordered a bunch of café de olla drinks because my FIL was looking for some - they were very good and made with the right stuff (even unrefined sugar!). Could've been more spicy, but that that's my taste and I'd ask for more Cayenne & cinnamon syrup next time. read more

This cafe is in a strip mall off of Debarr, where haciendas is. It is very nicely and heavily decorated with Mexican/day of the dead/latin types (not sure which one) as well as LGBTQ+ items. Some stuff for sale too like jewelry. I came on a Friday afternoon at 1pm and there was nobody inside. They have four or five tables plus two couches. Would be good for groups or a date. I almost passed out when I had to pay 5.75 for a 12oz mocha. Their rent must be extremely high here. None of their menus on the counter or the wall had any prices, well they did but they blacked them out. None of the specials had prices, the food too. So they can change them how they see fit. I just don't really like that business practice, I think it's kind of shady. They are way too high as well. Nobody should be paying that for espresso. Mocha did taste decent though, and not too hot which I appreciate I didn't burn my mouth. The worker was very quiet and when I left she sat on the couch with her phone. Happy to support small businesses but I won't go out of my way to come here or ever pay that much for a mocha. Those are *bucks prices. read more

Wow what an unexpected delicious bakery find in East Anchorage! This place has been on my radar for the fun events that they host especially during Halloween this year they had drag loteria. I knew it was a coffee shop, but what I didn't know is that they sell amazing pastries and cakes. Honestly their baked goods are up there with places like fire island, and I especially love their variety of Hispanic treats like tres leches cake. They also sometimes have food specials like in the winter time they are currently doing pozole Sundays. The shop is very comfortable and cutely decorated & most importantly it's a safe space for the LGBTQI+ community. It's not just a coffee shop, but a place for many communities to express themselves. They also do a lot of great outreach and community support projects here. If you're in East Anchorage, and looking for a cool coffee shop to check out definitely give this place a visit! read more

This place should win awards for: - - Cool Decorations (especially behind the baristas and espresso machine). - - An array of artisan style espresso drinks (and the description of each on menu on the counter). - - Delicious scones like strawberry basil (the soft type of scone). The setup and atmosphere reminds me of the late and great Uncle Leroy's coffee no longer open off 36th. The barista was engaged and friendly. She quickly and efficiently answered my questions about the cafecito. The cafecito is basically espresso, sugar, and froth. It was very good. It was just really small. The barista was able to tell me how much sugar goes with it and she was able to change the amount. I think it would be better in a ceramic cup (I got it to go). I'm excited to go back and try something with some cream in it. The pastries, while very cool and fresh, were rather limited. I only saw about four varieties of things. read more

Echoing the sentiment of some of the reviews below me, Cafecito Bonito is an absolute gem in an unassuming part of town. I love the Spanish Latte, try it iced on a hot day :) very warm interior with some cozy places to sit, time seems to slow down here when you step inside. I adore this place. The interior has a lot of personality with vibrant decorations. The atmosphere is very welcoming and homey with friendly employees. The owners are very involved in the community and often host events that tend to sell out quickly. They also have some art from local artists for sale. The beverage menu is unique compared to other shops in the area because of the Hispanic drinks like Cuban espresso. I highly recommend the horchata latte, which is rich without being too sweet. The pastries are also delicious. One of my favorite coffee shops in Anchorage. Definitely worth visiting! read more

Absolutely amazing! The minute you step into this little neighborhood gem you feel welcome and right at home, no matter who you are. The space, the staff, and the customers scream "all are welcome here" which is so refreshing. But that can only go so far if the food and drinks are not good, and I'm so happy to report that indeed their food & drink are so delish.
