Our house has a 5-ton system, he put a non-matching 4-ton unit inside causing the bill to double and system could not heat or cool the house. He claimed he was given the wrong unit and did not notice they were different tons. He said he could not get the parts, so we went with another company to fix his mistake, costing us more money having to replace the hole system. He said he would warranty his work if we kept the unit for him to pick up. Now almost a year later no warranty and I have an AC unit sitting in our garage. Save your money to someone who actually cares. So he came twice to fix the air conditioning, the first time charged me for $850 and then another $300 for 15 minutes work and a few dollars material. I came to the house today (I don't spend all my team here) and I see that there is no filter. I had an A/C leak so I went to yelp immediately to find an HVAC repair company. I found Cool Chez who had limited, but excellent reviews. I called and he answered immediately and was willing to come out that evening. I instead made an appointment with him the next day. He came out and diagnosed a minor problem that he was able to repair in a couple hours at a reasonable price. I will not hesitate to use Cool Chez again in the future and I will gladly recommend him to others. Call Chez, you'll be happy you 11-14-19 update: Due to my previous A/C leak, there was water damage to some Drywall. During the drywall repair it was revealed that there was water damage to an A/C duct. I called Chez, and he initially said he would not be able to make it out until late in the evening. He then called me back after his schedule opened up and came over almost immediately. The air duct was repaired immediately and at a reasonable price yet again. Thank you again Chez! read more

After some A/C guy that home depot recommended tried to rip us off thousands of dollars just to put in our new water heater, Chez came in to save the day! He came in the very next day (a sunday), and gave an incredibly reasonable price. He arrived early, and got it done so fast, and even got rid of our old unit! And to top it all off, he called us back, and let us know he was coming back to replace a pipe that wasn't even part of the install, just because he noticed it didn't look that great. For free! I hesitate to write this review, only because knowing about Chez feels like a local secret! It was a Thursday in June. My AC quit on me. Fox Service couldn't come out until Monday. Oh helllll no! Our friends had told us about Chez... so we called him. He said he'd come out that day sometime after 6. The guy is busy, but he kept his word. It was close to 9 by the time he could make it, and he fixed the unit in about 6 minutes. Talk about good ol' fashioned service. He was super nice, too. Go local people! We used Chez Cool to install 6 mini splits in 2019. They installed them on time, but we have had many problems since. Firstly, they hadn't paid for the equipment so we got a notice from the supplier saying if they didn't we would have a lien put on our house. I confronted Chez about this and he said he didn't have the money to pay them - we'd already paid in full. I believe he has now settled the payment as we have heard no more from the supplier. Since then it has been a constant cat and mouse of issues with the mini splits and Chez avoiding all communication. I would say they are competent in the actual install, but the way they treat their customers is disgraceful. This is not someone you want to be in business with, plain and simple. Cool Chez has some mad skills and is very professional. Chez and his very polite assistant came out to my Del Valle home today and corrected a misdiagnose AC units problem from Strand Brothers. Strand Brothers diagnosed the unit's 60 amp circuit breaker needed replacing however, Chez correctly diagnosed that the problem was with the unit's circuit board due to a lightning surge. Chez replaced the circuit board in less than 30 minutes and the AC units is running like a champion. I will most definitely be using Chez in the future as well as recommending his awesome service skills to my family and friends. PS: Chez has very affordable prices too. He was courteous, efficient & very professional. A/C went out on Friday. Tried to fix it ourselves but didn't seem to have the knowledge necessary. Suffered through Saturday and Sunday. Finally couldn't take it anymore. I called at 8:15 AM on a Saturday, and they arrived at the house in 30 minutes, as promised. In 5 minutes, they had the problem identified. The part they needed was not on the truck, but there was no need to worry. They drove across town to get the part and had our system in working order by 10:30 AM. They took the time to answer all of our questions patiently and professionally, and they also explained their two year warranty on parts and labor. Our house was struck by lightening early Tuesday morning which knocked out our A/C. After an electrician came to the house he was unable to get it up and running and recommended that we call an A/C company. I contacted Chez and he was at our house within a few hours which was good because you know how the heat gets here in June not to mention the fact that COVID is everywhere. He determined that our thermostat was fried after looking at our decrepit furnace that could be original to our 50 yr old house and recommended that we get a new nest thermostat. Because he has squeezed us in between appointments he drew me a diagram and showed me how to install the new thermostat. After my installation it still wasn't working so I contacted Chez again asking for advice. After a few back and forth texts we decided that it might be to capacitor so I got a new one and replaced it still to no avail. I called Chez again the next day asking for help and he offered to come back to check out the situation. He quickly resolved the issue; the danged 'ol green wire wasn't securely connected! Once he solved that problem he stayed to fix the wiring that troubled him the day before because he just didn't like how it was done. I CANNOT recommend this company enough if you are looking for a small, locally owned, affordable, family business. Thanks Cool Chez for all of your help. Came home to a hot house on a holiday weekend. Was expecting no one to be available to come right away, let alone within an hour! Chez answered on the first call and was out to our house within an hour of calling him. He was very friendly and informative. He said he wouldn't charge just for diagnosing the problem. He showed me exactly what was wrong and what part needed to be replaced (presumably giving me a chance to fix it myself). I didn't want to mess with any of that so I went ahead and just let him do it. The price seemed fair enough. On top of that, parts and labor are guaranteed for two years! We purchased a renovated home with new addition. The AC system, brand new, was installed by Cool Chez. Almost immediately after moving in, we had problems with the system. It was not cooling certain areas of the house. We contacted Chez to come out but he kept putting it off and was completely unresponsive at times. He finally came out but was unable to fix the problem. Then, the condensate line clogged and flooded through the ceiling in our dining room. This happened because the drain pan leaked through an improperly installed pipe, and there was also no float switch present. Chez came out after the leak and unclogged the condensate line but was still unable to fix the original problem: the house was not getting cool. Finally, after numerous unsuccessful attempts to work with him, we decided to go with other contractors. I had two other techs out to look at the system: both identified poor workmanship from Chez's install. They were able to fix the system without trouble. I would never go with Chez again. He is full of excuses, does not honor his warranty, and will create more problems than he solves. I have worked with a dozen or more contractors: this was the worst and least professional experience I have ever had. read more

He replaced it in about an hour on the second visit and it works perfectly now. He gave me his phone number and showed me how to work the remote. Very courteous, inteligent, helpful.
