Drove 3 hours from Bakersfield to get fitted for a driver -- showed up early for my 12:00 PM appointment. My fitter completely no-showed. No explanation, no call, nothing. And to make it worse, none of the staff on-site stepped up or even acted like they cared. Total waste of time and gas. They seem to have run off the long time staff who were great. Not sure what is going on, but no longer recommend.

Chris and Josiah are top notch and best in class at what they do. They give super detailed fittings and break down the data really well. They have the best technology in the industry and have every club head, shaft, etc. combination imaginable. They have proprietary technology that spits out recommendations for your swing (at different price points too, which is nice) Their fittings utilize Trackman technology but allow you to hit off the grass rather than a simulator. All your data, including ball speed, swing speed, etc. is emailed to you after. I did a full bag fitting with Andy and it was a great experience. He was super knowledgeable and very thorough as we went through every club to find the best ones tailored to my specific swing. Very nice guy and very patient as we went through a variety of shaft and club head combinations. I also like that the fitting is on grass, not on a mat. I just finished my first iron fitting with Chris Platt today and I'm a very happy camper. I'll definitely be coming back to fit my driver and fairway woods. The whole fitting process was great, he kept me relaxed made it feel like a regular range session. He was patient enough to answer all the questions I had. The lie on my irons were too upright and Chris was able to adjust my them at the spot, I also received whole report via email on all the heads and shafts we used today for recommendations on my future purchase. Cool Clubs is the only place I would recommend for your golfing needs. If you're looking for a unique fitting experience, Cool Clubs is the way to go. I only went there for a loft/lie fitting for my irons and wedges, but they do also offer full fitting for your driver, hybrids, woods, irons, wedges, and putter. Instead of hitting golf balls on a golf simulator, you hit balls on an actual grass driving range. You'll be able to feel and get immediate input to benefit your golf game. They also adjusted my loft/lie on site and I was able to try out my newly adjusted clubs on the fly. I don't know of any other golf fitting business to operate this way. Josiah reached out to me due to a last minute cancellation and I was able to get helped out by them even sooner. Chris, their fitter, was super knowledgeable and really helped me to understand what adjustments he was making and how they'll impact my golf game. Chris even made future recommendations once I get out on the course to see if any more fine tuning would be needed. Just finished up my first fitting with Chris and the guy is second to none when it comes to making suggestions and getting the right club and shaft in your hands! It was a little nerve wrecking initially since this was my first fitting but Chris's vibes were chill and he kept me relaxed, reassuring me just to act like it was normal day at the range or a round on the course. He didn't push for me to stay with one club or the other and saved me some money on shafts and my putter with minor tweaks and adjustments. All in all the experience was great and I highly recommend booking a fitting with cool clubs if you're on the edge of skepticism whether it'll help shave off some strokes or not. It's a little pricey but you get what you pay for and the service, along with the equipment and technology they have is top of the line. Definitely going back if I need any adjustments or advice with my new setup or future inquiries. And lastly, you're hitting at an actual range with top of the line feedback equipment so it's more realistic and the kind of feedback I wanted as opposed to an indoor setup. Highly recommend!! I had a fitting this morning with Josiah, and it was AMAZING!! They had every club head and shaft you could imagine. I'm an 8 handicap golfer who struggles with too much spin and Josiah had me dialed in in no time! I was previously just using my 3 wood off the tee because it's what I felt most comfortable with, but Josiah pointed out the high spin rate and a total distance of 220. After trying the newest Titleist, Taylor Made, Callaway and Cobra, we figured out what shaft was the best. For the first time in my life, I had a lower, more penetrating ball flight. The ball just exploded off the club face....averaging 309 , a total of 90 yards gained! I ended up getting the Callaway Rouge ST "LS" with the Fujikura X flex shaft. I couldn't be happier with my decision...I left there knowing I have the perfect shaft for my swing, and the optimal face for my driver. Their new facility is also stunning. It's located at the end of the range....Flat screen TV's, club repair, club building station, they are getting an entire new putting lab, and really cool memorabilia! The team has done a really good job of offering the best club fitting experience I have ever seen, and you should really check these guys out if you need to get fit....It's makes a huge difference! I recently did a driver fitting with Chris and the whole experience was five star. Chris was fantastic, he is very knowledgeable and knew exactly what I needed after only seeing a few swings. Finding the right driver shaft is even more important than I previously thought prior to the fitting. I tested 8 different shafts and the winner significantly out performed the others. Shot dispersion was much tighter, even on miss hits and brought my spin numbers down to where it needs to be. In addition, I personally prefer testing outside on the range compared to inside on a simulator. Seeing the actual ball flight outside was highly valuable to me. After the fitting I ordered the new driver and received it within a week built exactly to my specs. Highly recommend getting fit with Chris! read more

I had a negative experience. I'm giving a 2 stars because I don't think the place was bad, just my fitter. I'm a little bit of a golf club experimenter, so I've been fit more than a few times and have found a good working session with each and was fond of most of them. This was easily the worst. Josiah doesn't listen to the client. He will fill 95% of the time with his own talking and not ask your likes/dislikes/preferences. It's just exhausting to deal with. I ended up not purchasing. I will not be going back or recommending him, however I did not see the other fitter so I can't comment on that. read more

I had a very positive experience working with Cool Clubs. It's tough to get an appointment anywhere without waiting 2 weeks, but I called Cool Clubs to get fitted and they got me in the next day. I worked with Josiah Solberg who was knowledgeable, professional, and a pleasure to work with. We quickly identified which irons worked best and I returned 2 days later for my driver/woods. Cool Clubs said I could expect my clubs within 2-3 weeks and they arrived 2 weeks later. I played my best round the following day and am very satisfied with my experience. I had a fitting on 6/26 with Josiah. They are temporarily doing fittings at Black Gold, however you are still hitting premium balls off of grass just like at Oak Creek. This is my 3rd fitting done by Josiah and he truly is a master of his craft. I sent him an email with a few questions regarding being fit for an older set of clubs and if its possible to find a comparable head. Josiah was quick to answer and I set my appointment. Josiah is extremely professional and there is no push to buy anything, you are given a few different options at different price points. He truly listens to his clients needs, wants and financial ability. I have gone through roughly a dozen fittings over 10 years to see how others do it, and truthfully to save some money (more on that later), however there is nothing close to the experience you receive at Cool Clubs. Often you'll read reviews or comments regarding price; and yes you can say it might be expensive, but to me it was worth every penny. The build quality is always spot-on, I have confidence in every club they build and that it will last. The amount of shafts and knowledge provided in the fitting is top-notch. You get what you pay for in this industry and I'd rather spend a little more up front to have the set built correctly, rather than have to continue tinkering.
