So with a change in health insurance, I tried out a new dentist in Franklin TN yesterday. Booked for a general cleaning, I arrived 5 min early and after a lengthy questionnaire I was checked in. At this time I was told to expect a 90 min stay. My former dentist usually gets me in and out in about 45min, an hour at the most for a 6 month cleaning. 2 and a half hours later I leave with a $10,000 quote that they reduced to $5,000 ......and still didn't clean my teeth. Horrible! They tried to upsell me on deep cleanings that weren't covered on my insurance and would cost me hundreds of dollars out of pocket. I went to another dentist to get a second opinion and I did not need what they recommended. They should be reported! I may do it myself. Review for Cool Springs Modern Dentistry, Franklin, TN I only gave one star because I had to. BEWARE!!! I scheduled an appointment for a cleaning -- which I never received -- and was told I needed to have three teeth pulled that same day. I was also quoted $3,800 for a cleaning! When I asked for my X-rays, I was sent only a partial set that conveniently included the tooth they said needed removal. Dentist Tala and office manager Heather were both horrible to deal with. Tala couldn't clearly explain why extractions were necessary, and when I contacted Heather to resend the X-rays, she sent files that my new dentist couldn't open. A week later, I called at 8 a.m. to have the films resent for a second opinion appointment, and by 3:30 p.m. they still hadn't been sent. When I asked again, Heather said she was "busy" and even offered to "count the guests in the lobby" for me. She also told me she doesn't "take kindly to threats" -- though all I did was ask twice for my own X-rays to be emailed. After getting a second opinion, I was told that zero teeth needed to be removed. Save yourself the frustration and DO NOT schedule an appointment here. You might lose a tooth -- or three. read more

Went in for cleaning. They proposed $16K worth of dental work that I believe is not necessary, they claimed I had infection in my root canal. The only fix was extraction with implant , bridge or denture. I have never had issue with this tooth. Further, they concluded I have stage 4-5 gingivitis. they would not clean my teeth because they wanted to do deep cleaning (periodontal scaling) and I just wanted a regular cleaning that was covered by my insurance. Similar to all the others ~ we should do more than yelp, they need to be reported for fraud to ADA and Dental Insurance Companies. I arrived on time, waited amongst all the other victims in the overcrowded waiting room for over an hour. He and his staff reviewed xrays and Modern's recommended plan. He and his staff were appalled at what I had been told. I had a normal cleaning, told my gums are healthy. Dentist asked about the tooth they wanted to do a root canal/crown. "is it bothering you?" NO ~ it's not cracked, it has a groove and no need for 'unnecessary" root canal ~my next cleaning in January. Dentist and Hygienist shook their heads in disbelief. Unfortunately, my elderly neighbor got taken for 10k at Modern Dentistry Went in for one missing tooth. After oral surgery ~extracting many teeth has issues with her sinuses. If you are reading this before going to this place, consider yourself very lucky. I had not read the reviews here until now, but they sure confirm our experience. As with most of the other reviews I've read, my wife was told she needed to have her front upper bridge removed, her front center top (supposedly abscessed) tooth extracted, and a new bridge made to the tune of almost $7000. The only thing that saved us was we were trying to get a question answered by the dentist, Tala, but after calling 3 times the same week with no call back from her we decided to try a different dentist. He said he could see no sign of a problem with that tooth. What a scam! There are truly some corrupt people out there so watch out. read more

BEWARE!!! Sent my daughter here for a "cleaning only" because she was home from college and we couldn't get into her normal dentist. After 2 hours, they still had not cleaned her teeth and proposed over $8000 worth of root canals and crowns! SHE IS 19!!! She called me as they were in the process of signing an anesthesia release for a CLEANING and I instructed her to leave IMMEDIATELY! I was so upset, I begged our regular dentist to see her to confirm their findings and he was absolutely astonished and what they printed off as her "care plan" when all he found was a couple of cavities that needed to be filled. Wow! I should have read the reviews before I decided to book an appointment here. I booked a regular cleaning. Before I went in to see the hygienist the receptionist asked me if I had any pain or trouble sleeping. She said they could fit me for a night guard and to make sure I asked for one. I don't need or want that but thanks for the suggestion. Then, I meet the hygienist who says we're going to do a full set of X-Rays. I said, no thank you; I just want a cleaning. She said she needed to speak with the doctor as they won't do a cleaning without the X-Rays. After waiting another 20 minutes the Doctor came in and confirmed they won't do a cleaning without the X-Rays. I've never experienced this in my life but it's very clear all they care about is making money off folks. I walked out and won't be returning. What a waste of time. read more

Rude and money focused! I heard this place was a scam but was desperate for a cleaning. Got there and they told me I needed a gum scaling deep cleaning for stage 1 periodontal disease and needed 4 fillings and a root canal/crown. Well over $5,000 worth of services. I got my fillings and my cleaning done here but definitely getting a second opinion for the root canal. Had sensitivity before but left with even more, and it's been 2 weeks post service. Kept calling to have them send me the receipts and breakdown of the services I paid for, but they never did. Heather was rude and short with me. A family member lost a filling over Christmas break. His dental insurance changed and decided to go Cool Springs Modern Dentistry. What a mistake!! X-rays were done. He was then told that they needed two roots canals! (he was just at his previous dentist for a routine check-up/cleaning 2 months prior and all was normal.) This morning he went to see his previous dentist(very reputable). After examination, the tooth was filled. NO cracks, NO root canals needed. $200 If you do decide to be seen at Cool Springs Modern Dentistry.... GET A SECOND OPINION... before you drop a load of money here. Insurance changed so I had to go to them. 1st Appointment 6 months ago and after 90 minutes of constant up-selling I finally said enough. Having just come from a VERY reputable dentist 6 months earlier, I just wasn't convinced I needed $4000+ in optional services not covered by the insurance. I signed their refusal of service form and they VERY roughly cleaned my teeth in 15 minutes. Fast forward to yesterday. Showed-up for my 830 Appointment - sorry we don't have you in the system - despite a printed email copy confirming the appointment - come back tomorrow. This morning I show up and after more x-rays the dentist comes in, looks at my teeth for 2 minutes, and starts in again with the up-selling for optional services. I tell him "stop with the up-selling" and lets get on with the cleaning. He then tells me "I cannot in good conscience clean your teeth". I get up and leave. I have been calling them for over a week now to get a bill corrected because the insurance company says they overcharged me $1000. The dentist office said they would investigate, but now they won't return my phone calls. I had already paid them at the time of service and now it appears they don't want to talk about a refund. I was incredibly fortunate to be provided the opportunity to attend service day where I had the best dental work I'd ever recieved. I am beyond thankful for the crew I worked with and wouldn't recommend anyone more. The upbeat music took my mind off of what was going on as well as insightful conversations with the dentist and crew. As a financially independent 19 year old they understood the stress and confusion I had and provided incredible information and tips for moving forward in the dentistry world. READ ALL REVIEWS BRFORE YOU DECIDE!!!! I called Yesterday morning for emergency pain because my dentist couldn't fit me in until the following Friday (family emergency otherwise they could of scheduled me). The receptionist was very nice when I called and told me they could fit me in at 12 noon. Ok cool! Well I get there they check me in ok all good. They take me back to do X-rays and the machine broke. So they moved me to another room and finished the X-rays. After taking me to an exam room the dr came in about 20 min after went over them X-rays and asked what my issue was and I told them I had pain in the upper left back. She picked around at my teeth then started discussing another tooth that I had no issues with. Was very persistent, and I began to tell her don't poke around to find a problem help me with my pain I have now. Well, she didn't like that. Then told me I had to have 1 possibly 2 teeth pulled and either a bridge or plate. She then told me that she would have her specialist contact the insurance and go over a plan to fix the problem meanwhile I am in pain and needed it fixed now and they wanted to schedule me for Wednesday. I told them why not fix the pain now and we can talk about fixing my teeth later. Well they didn't like that either. So they discuss a plan which I wasn't happy with. I think for about 45 min they were telling me I NEEDED this work to be done. I refused! They came at me with 2 different plans and I told them I wanted to take the estimate home and discuss it with my husband. It was almost $4,000 and I told them I didn't have the money right then (with insurance paying most) they told me you can get on a payment plan or try to get approved for this dental plan and you would t have to put anything down. Once again I refused. Then they got pissed at me. The dr came back in said I called in amoxicillin and Tylenol 3 to your pharmacy and that the amoxicillin will help with the pain (she think I'm stupid?). Ok great! So they did a cleaning and I went to the front desk and checked out. Funny, they got my pharmacy info when I checked out. Well I had to make a stop on the way home then stopped my my house then to the pharmacy. DR CALLED IN BOTH PERSCRIPTIONS THEN CALLED BACK AND WITHDREW THE TYLENOL 3. WTH!! I felt like all they were concerned about was making money. by the way my appointment was at 12 I did t leave out of there until 3pm. I was not happy. I usually don't leave reviews but wanted to warn others. I recently switched insurances so I made an appointment here for a full work up and cleaning. They told me I need thousands of dollars of work done, mind you I have NEVER had any trouble with my teeth in the past and take really good care of my teeth so this was shocking to hear. They were also extremely pushy in getting me in for my next appointments to get all this work done. I decided to get a second opinion at another dentist that was highly rated and recommended to me, and they did another full work up on my teeth (x-rays, exam, etc.), and told me all I needed was a few fillings and then I'd be good to go. They also throughly went through my x-rays with me and didn't rush through things. Please do not waste your time at this dentist as they are not personable at all and completely money hungry. Save your time, mental energy, and do not schedule an appointment!! You will regret it! I had an appointment for today at 3:15. I showed up early to get checked in because I had an unexpected zoom call my boss requested I be on at 3 pm. There were two receptionists working the check in area. One was checking someone out taking forever! The other just kept answering the phone. She pulled up my record she said you did not fill out your mychart. You have to do that for us to move forward with your appointment. I walked out and told her I would just schedule a new appointment at a different dental group. I want to say this was my one and only negative experience with this group. I had first scheduled an appointment in January. The appointment was canceled due to a snow/ice storm and the office being closed. I filled out all of this information above for that appointment. So, I finally rescheduled this original appointment for today. I scheduled the appointment on Friday morning due to my tooth hurting. I was called 3 times on Friday, which I came to know they were closed and I was being called by an answering service. So, I received a call yesterday from the office telling me if they didn't get my social security number they would have to cancel my appointment. I work in customer service. We are taught very early on that you want to make it the process as easy as possible. At every step, I was pressured by a staff member demanding for more and more of me. The dental profession is a for profit business. I never will do business, no matter how much I need the service if I'm being pressured each step for more information then have the threat that it would be canceled. What was going to be the next thing they were going to have had to have? I saw it while I was waiting. Not only did they want my dental card, but also my medical card. I would have walked out then as well. I was going for an introductory dental check up. There is no reason they should have needed my medical card or for me to sign up for their mychart. The only reason for me to set up my own mychart was because they were too lazy on their end, again, not providing any customer service! read more

Avoid this place at ALL costs. I never leave reviews like this, but this place is a total scam. After spending nearly 2 hours getting X-rays (which were not covered by insurance because they take unnecessary ones on top of the needed/covered ones), they first told me my teeth looked pretty good. Then the doctor came in, was very pleasant for the next hour chatting with me and doing a very, very quick examination, to then tell the dental hygienist to inform me that I needed a deep cleaning due to severe gum disease (which is not covered by insurance), needed three crowns, fillings and so forth. It was a total of $16K in dental work they said I NEEDED. Stunned, I walked out ... not before the receptionist tried to bargain with me. Offering to cut costs if I donated to some cause, highlighting things I didn't have to get done right away or that had been added to my bill unnecessarily even though the dentist had said everything was necessary after I asked her about various procedures they had listed in an effort to cut down the costs. I take good care of my teeth and always have. So, I got a second opinion from one of the highest rated dentists in Franklin. She was my first choice, but they were booked out so far I decided to try this one. Luckily, they got me in a week later with a cancelation. They covered my X-rays because my insurance wouldn't after getting billed at Cool Springs Modern Dentistry. After the examination, they found a few cavities, NO signs of gum disease (they were baffled a doctor could have even suggested that), and NO crowns necessary. The bill for that before insurance is around $1,000. Please beware when visiting this office. And should you choose to despite my review and others like it, and your bill seems outrageous, get a second opinion like the other reviews say. I wish I read the reviews and didn't just look at the Google rating. Waste of time and money. read more

Cool Springs Modern Dentistry is running a scam. My son just recently relocated to Franklin, TN and needed to find a dentist in the area. He made an appointment with Cool Springs Modern Dentistry to have his teeth clean and the appointment was made for him to see Dr. Tuner Reid. Dr. Reid immediately advised him that his wisdom teeth needed to be extracted immediately. He explained to him that they were not bothering him and being that he just started a new job he was not prepared to have them extracted immediately. Dr. Turner stated that he wouldn't advise him to wait and informed him that the procedure would all take place in his office and there was no need to refer him to an oral surgeon because it would be the same and would make no difference. He stated that they are contracted with Dr. Corey Paulino who is a traveling oral surgeon. The procedure was scheduled for June 27, 2022 and soon as he arrived he signed a form stating that he was aware that Dr. Corey Paulino was a traveling oral surgeon. The form didn't state that the office is not equipped the same as an oral surgeon's office and they do not have the same monitoring machines and that they are not guaranteeing they can put him to sleep or keep him asleep doing the procedure. Shortly after the procedure began he was lightly asleep but feeling everything that was happening. The nurse pushed more anesthesia but again he was still awake and feeling everything. After the two right side wisdom teeth were extracted he sat up and was waving his hands trying to let them know he was awake and feeling everything. Dr. Paulino stopped the procedure and had his nurse come to inform me, not him his nurse that they had to stop the procedure because he was being combated and they feared for their safety. The nurse told me they are going to have to refer him to an oral surgeon who is better equipped to keep him asleep. He was sent out of there traumatize with no gauge and no ice pack and no referral. Meanwhile, he was only refunded less than 30% when only 2 of the 4 teeth were extracted with no anesthesia. read more

I was in Franklin/Nashville for a girls trip and upon arriving we went to have a bite to eat, when all of a sudden my front tooth veneer cracked. I was mortified and at this point it was already 6pm. I was able to get a 9am appointment the next day with Dr. Judge. The staff was so friendly and Dr. Judge was able to fix my tooth the same day! It was painless and hassle free not to mention, I could go back to enjoying my trip as planned!  I highly recommend Dr. Judge and her staff at Cool Springs Dentistry ! If I could I would bring Dr. Judge and her team back with me to Los Angeles! Highly recommend, thumbs up all the way! read more

If I could give 6 stars I would. Best dentist experience I have ever had. I came in for a cleaning/exam that turned into a temporary crown / prep for a root canal + filling and discussion of wisdom teeth removal ASAP. This typically wouldn't be ideal to spend 6 hrs at a dentist office and realize you need thousands of dollars worth of dental work, but the lovely ladies that helped me made it feel like a breeze. Right off the bat I was warmly greeted and checked in by the front desk. Kelsey was one of the easiest people to talk to about dental work bills - how do you make that fun? I don't know but Kelsey did it. Heather did an incredible job getting my x rays taken for me & assisting Dr Ike, and Rachel Neeley made it so easy to learn during my cleaning / periodontial exam. Arissa was incredible getting these ladies set up and getting my temporary crown molded & popped in place for me. It was so cool how Arissa explained the technology to me that was scanning my mouth to create my temporary crown. Then finally Dr. Ike is the only dentist I felt like I've made a true connection with that inspired me to want to learn more about taking care of my teeth. I typically don't ask questions at the dentist because I want to get out of there, but this has given me a new perspective on going to the dentist. It doesn't have to be a cringe worthy chore to go see the dentist & the team at Cool Springs Modern Dentistry showed me that. This place is absolutely amazing! Every staff member there was welcoming and energetic. I was really nervous about visiting a dentist for the first time in a while and they took all of that concern away. They were extra precautionary to ensure social distancing health standards were exceeded including distributing masks upon entering. They were quick to get me back and take xrays and the dentist was fast to provide feedback. They provide same day crownings and were able to schedule my follow up appointments within a quick timeframe. The best part was interacting with the staff members there, they really made me feel comfortable and will have me visiting again. I highly recommend visiting this office and Dr Glasscock!! read more

The worst experience in my life and I'm 40 years old been to dentist office all over the world and 25 years just in Nashville Brentwood TN, the system due to Covid-19 is to try to sale more treatment packages aside from just taking care of a regular 6 months cleaning, after the hygienists suggested a deep cleaning which involves laser treatment which I have refused due to known side effects they almost refused to take care of my 6 months cleaning since the upgrade was declined, finally that I have completed my cleaning which was a crazy experience including how the same hygienist acted while cleaning my teeth there was no direction what so ever when to close my mouth before I shock from all of the blood water in my mouth, she made sure that my face is full of splashes from the cleaning which never happened to me before, no goggles where offered and the entire cleaning process was completed in 10 minutes which is the fastest I've ever experienced, she made sure not to spend any effort perfecting the cleaning process since the decision been made not to accept me as a patient after today's visit now that I have declined a 2000 out of pocket treatment, I was given a next visit apt. when I called to confirm they said never mind since you didn't follow our recommendations we will not be able to clean your teeth ever again and today's cleaning was just a "courtesy" as if I'm a homeless person bagging for a free teeth cleaning when the fact is that a full complete X-ray took place which I'm only supposed to do once a year and now I'm not able to do another one till the end of following year, making the process of me visiting a new dentist almost impossible unless I pay out of pocket for the x-rays read more
