They ruined my teeth. I went in as a new patient and my teeth were perfectly fine. They convinced me they needed to fix two old fillings - which were done poorly and resulted in me having to get a root canal and crown, and probably needing another, wasting thousands of dollars I don't have on work I never should have needed. Always made me feel it was somehow my fault this was happening when my teeth were fine before they got in my mouth. I'm honestly scared of the dentist now. read more

I used to go to this clinic the last several years, and for some reason the last couple of years, their service start getting bad every time I go for my regular visit I don't get to see the same doctor the same hygienist I keep asking what's going on. They just tell me this and that today May 7, 2025 Iwent for my regular cleanup today I was thrown out of the clinic after my appointment for telling them what I feel about their service the last couple of years I will not be going back to this place ever again if you're planning for a new dentist, please try another place since they open more locations. Although this office is well run, the staff is efficient professional and nice to work with, the hygienists are quick and gentle and the dentists have (as far as I can tell) done great work when I needed it, I have to give this place a one star. The dentists have consistently insisted I have a full panoramic X-ray in addition to bite wing X-rays. These bite wing X-rays show all of each tooth and are what is used to determine issues. The panoramic ones are used for dental surgery, braces, etc, but not for routine care. I have refused them and they keep telling me they are "standard care" but couldn't explain what it would show them. They insist performing unnecessary X-rays to my complete head! read more

If you are not taking new patients, you should say so on your website. If your dentists are not trained at LVI you should say that on your website. You should not mislead people into believing your dentists are LVI trained when they are not, and if you are not taking new patients than why put it on your website. Your office manager in Factoria just tried to sneak it by, saying the office is LVI trained. That is a lie, offices are not LVI trained. Dentists are and no other dentist in the office are trained. I've been a patient at Cooley Smiles since 2015 and the quality has really gone down since. Today was the final nail in the coffin - I arrived 10 minutes prior to my appointment and was called in 10 minutes late after the receptionist was running back and forth (I believe she was trying to find someone to work on me). They were clearly NOT ready for me as the hygienists were trying to figure out who can work on me and swap out at some point. I don't remember seeing the manual metal dental instruments there either when I arrived, just some pink ones on the dental rack. I was told that they MUST take pictures of my teeth and tried to use one of those plastic mouth openers. It didn't look clean as it had stains on it and to add on that it snapped in two when she tried to put it in my mouth. By the end of taking pictures my lip was bleeding a bit. The computer wasn't working in my slot and for some reason the dentist himself did the cleaning and while using the ultrasonic, the tool seem to be leaking as I constantly had water going on my face and down my neck. At that point of time I'm wondering since they weren't ready for me - it's possible that the tools may have not been sterilized if they didn't have time to clean up during the scramble. This worries me a lot. Finally, the next available appointment is 8 months out which to me is a clear sign of too many patients and not enough resources. I am very disappointed with today's experience - I booked today's appointment 6-7 months ago and today made me feel like I was a last minute plug in. On a side note, I appreciated Dr. Kim cleaning my teeth today - he was gentle and meticulous. read more

I relocated to the area in September of 2020 and I found this dentist within my network and decided to visit since it's close to my home. On the positive side they do great work. The office is clean and for the most part the staff is friendly. My issue with them is their appointments and scheduling system. I had a last minute request today to reschedule/cancel since I have an emergency related to work. The receptionist was rude and mentioned notes on my account about other cancelled and rescheduled appointments. The nature of my job is demanding and my schedule is quite erratic during traditional 9-5 hours. I will no longer be going to this office. I need a dentist with evening and weekend availability because my schedule is just too crazy. As I explained to the woman on the phone, I can't pay you without paying myself first. I get their situation but their hours don't work well for people with demanding work schedules such as myself. read more

We had to change dentists this year b/c our old one was no longer in network. I picked this place b/c it was close to me and in network. They were given the benefit info and in the past a dentist would look this up before an appointment. They did not do this. My husband goes and they clean his teeth and do a pano and X-rays and on the way out tell him it's not been 6 months since his last appointment b/c they just looked up benefits. I had some words in my head I wanted to say at the time. But it gets better. They filed insurance and it came back showing him seeing another dentist in the office not covered/not network. So basically he had an appointment too early b/c they didn't check benefits, and then filed it with a non network dentist. I complained. My own visit was filed with non network as well. I cancelled my kids appointments at this point. Even if it's every filed right they screwed us up by allowing that visit to happen too soon. I've never had an office not check benefits before cleaning teeth. So frustrated and at some point we will have to pay for this visit after all the filing is done. I was a patient of theirs for a few years it was nothing but painful cleanings and then regularly telling me I needed expensive surgery (it's funny how my new dentist doesn't see what they claimed to see). I was a long time patient of Cooley Smiles. Dr. Brandon was my original dentist and was very happy with the care that was provided. I had a couple of crowns replaced after root canal re-treatments. The service was great and didn't have any additional issues with my teeth. I even recommended coworkers to their practice b/c I was satisfied with their work. More recently, I was passed onto Dr. Melissa and that's when everything went downhill. In the fall of 2019, I went in for my routine cleaning and received a clean bill of health. One month later, I went back in due to a cracked crown. I found out that it was still in warranty and I didn't have any additional out of pocket expense. Dr. Melissa did my crown work. To start, my temporary crowns came off twice during the 2 week period. Finally I got my crown and immediately the opposite side of my mouth started to hurt. I gave it a month thinking that I needed to to have things settle. It didn't so I went back to them to find out what was wrong. Come to find out that 2 of my root canals were compromised and that I would needed to get implants. On top of that, the tooth that received the new crown needs an implant too. So, one crown replacement lead to 3 implants. While I saved on the crown replacement, I sure paid a lot out of pocket for 3 implants. I just finished 2 of my implants and will do the last one I'm 2020. I would say that the Dr. Brandon is a good dentist and wish this didn't happen. If you go here, stick with one of the owners and don't go to anyone else in the office. Also be sure that you're not passed off to anyone else. As owners, I still hold them responsible. read more

I no longer go here for dental services, but my family and I were patients for about 5 years. They generally have very nice, friendly staff. They light scented candles, try to make the atmosphere and experience calming. The lobby has a Nintendo game to keep the pre teen kids entertained. But I found many downsides to coming here. First, the last dental cleaning of the day that they will schedule is 3pm. My sons did not get out of school until 3pm, so it was very hard to pick them up and get them there in time for the appointment. During the 5 years that we came, I never had the same hygenist twice. I guess they had some temporary ones they hired. I always seemed to have a different person clean my teeth. I like the continuity of the same person visit to visit. I used to grind my teeth, and consequently, many of my teeth chipped, cracked, etc. and had to be filled, replaced, crowned. On two occasions when one or the other of the Cooley dentists were working on my teeth, they actually made jokes about my teeth to their assistant, and laughed about all the work I have had to have in my mouth. This really offended me. I have always taken meticulous care of my teeth, just had problems with cracking and chipping. I very much resented their attitude, and being made fun of.... They are also very hard to get an appointment for. Twice, after my youngest son had a cleaning, they immediately scheduled a cleaning for 6 months in the future. On 2 occasions, they called me 2 weeks before this scheduled cleaning and said "ooops, we goofed. The office will be closed when we scheduled your son's appointment (they did this twice? how inept!!! Don't they know when they will be closed!?@!?!?!), so we need to reschedule". Unfortunately, that meant he had to wait an additional TWO MONTHS to get another appointment, as they are so full. I finally got sick of the difficulties of scheduling here and moved to another dentist who we LOVE and always has time to fit us in and does cleanings up until 5pm which is way more convenient. read more

To the Cooley Smiles Team, A week ago, my mother-in-law arrived in Seattle with a tight hour or so lay-over in route to Tennessee for a week-long vacation. Upon her arrival in Seattle she broke a crown on her tooth which needed immediate attention and she feared having to endure the pain. She had little time before catching a flight and was panicked! I called my dentist Cooley Smiles and explained the situation and immediately the staff accommodated her into their already short-Friday-busy-schedule and quickly repaired the tooth. On the return to the airport, my mother-in-law could not stop talking about her gratefulness to the Cooley Smiles team and how comfortable they made her feel. She said they were fast, efficient, very professional and painless but most of all, she was impressed by how the staff made her feel like family. She has asked me to personally communicate to Cooley Smiles that your service is above and beyond the best she's ever seen. I might mention, she now thinks I am the greatest son-in-law there is! To everyone else, aside from my mother-in-law's experience, I recommend the Cooley Smiles experience and many of my personal friends are also patients. Seriously? I look forward to going to the dentist because I actually like going to Cooley Smiles. The minute you walk in you're greeted by the awesome staff. Ready to sit down in that chair to get a cleaning? They'll start you off with a paraffin wax for your hands if you're interested. Oh what? You want to watch TV too? And they don't have 4 different channels, they have numerous channels. I think i've watched a bit of MTV to a bit of The Food Network while relaxing. If that isn't good enough you could always get a foot massage. Think i'm lying? Call for yourself. Sometimes I forget i'm getting my teeth cleaned because of the massage and tv. Besides the perks the hygentist are great. They tell you what they're doing step by step and what to expect. I've had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Aaron and he's got a great sense of humor and knows his work. I'm a teeth person so it's good to have a dentist that knows what's good/bad and all of the above. Don't forget to grab a latte or a cappuccino on your way out. I had been a patient here since around 2013. I've had two crowns done, fillings replaced, etc. I had an appointment last week and they called to cancel and rescheduled for today. I then got a series of text messages this morning first saying again that they needed to reschedule due to sickness then saying to come in. I was not feeling great due to an ongoing health issue, and we are in a global pandemic, so I called to take them up on the rescheduling texts. The girl on the phone was rude, told me I was cancelling (honestly with that much sickness between the hygienist last week and then again today why would I want to go in?!?), and told me they had no appointments until October. I'm not buying that. When I said fine, she then told me that I am no longer welcome to make any more appointments bc I have called in sick too many times. Over 7-8 years I've rescheduled FIVE times (gasp!). At least twice was having a sick baby and no one knows they are going to be sick 48 hours in advance. I guess they want patients coming in sick during a pandemic. No warning or anything, just fired as a patient. So off to find a new dentist. So much for any type of patient care. Years ago I had a pretty awful experience at a different dentist office, which made me too scared to return. After years of neglect, I knew it was time to toughen up and find another dentist. I searched around on AL and Yelp and contacted a few different offices. I finally picked Cooley Smiles and emailed in. I warned them of my concerns and anxiety going in, along with the amount of work I'll need done. They responded promptly and scheduled an initial appointment. My first visit was a few days ago on Monday and the office seems to be run very smoothly and efficiently. The front desk personnel were very friendly and I waited all of 2 minutes before being called back for my appointment. I definitely want to sing praises for my hygienist Jaimie! I was VERY self conscious coming in, plus I'm going through a lot in my personal life, so I just really needed some kindness and patience. Jaimie went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable while I was there. I didn't feel judged by her, like how I've felt at other offices. She explained everything in detail before going to work and constantly checked in on me to see how I was feeling. They have a TV that hangs above you to watch while back in the chair, and also have a complimentary hand or foot massage available! On your way out they offer water, juice, and snacks. I've been there 3 times this week, and each visit went as smoothly as the first. I met Dr. Aaron today and he handled my visit similar to Jaimie, Explained everything upfront then checked on me constantly throughout. I'm very pleased I found this practice. I just happened to chip my bottom front tooth (eating a chocolate coffee bean!) the day of my dental cleaning. I have been to SO many dentists due to cavity-prone teeth/moving- Cooley Smiles is the best dentist group I have seen. First, the admin staff is responsive and on your side. They work with you to address all concerns and make sure you know costs on the front-end. The dental staff are great, cleanings are a breeze because they are so gentle with the teeth and gums. When making decisions on fillings or more advanced care (crowns, root canal), Dr. Kelly walked me through her logic on my x-rays and digital photos of my teeth. This meant I could see her rationale with my own eyes, rather than second-guessing if the treatment is actually needed. Dr. Kelly also follows up through email after major appointments to check on you, which I appreciate so much. Great people and dental/administrative practices at this facility. read more

Not sure I understand the negative reviews on here! I actually enjoy going to the dentist now (I've had 3-4 others in the past). I found Cooleysmiles from an ad at the gym, and have gone for the past 1 1/2 years. I enjoy the atmosphere, as it is pretty light for a dentist's office, and the staff is extremely friendly. I have had a few cavities filled, and loved that they showed me everything they recommended to be fixed (I've had the feeling from some dentists that they just want to re-do everything someone else has done). Brandon is really up front about any work that needs to be done. I have recommended everyone I know to go there, and multiple co-workers have followed suit - I mean, who doesn't want a relaxing hand massage while your teeth are being cleaned? WOW - what an amazing new patient experience!! As someone whose father is a dentist - albeit 2,000 miles away - I have certain expectations of the type of experience you should have at your dentist's office. I was blown away at the level of customer service, from the time I made my first appointment, to level of follow up for my following appointments. My cleaning was amazing - my teeth felt downright sparkly, and the detail of the NP exam was impressive. I even had to have 2 fillings replaced and they got me in the next day to Dr. Brandon, and it was another great experience.
