Several years ago Dr. Raymond Chan sabotaged my teeth by scoring the enamel next to the gum line on my upper teeth. I got out of the chair and left because he was yelling at his assistant. I have had no end of problems with the scored teeth ever since. Do not use this dentist as he is unethical. If you use this dentist and he starts vigorously scrapping your teeth with a dental pick during the exam he is scoring your tooth enamel to promote decay. read more

My mouth is all capped and I have a bridge on the lower part of my mouth. I shattered several teeth in an accident when I was a teenager and that's why the total mouth reconstruct. I have been going to Dr. Jason Chan for checkups, and found that he is a wonderful teacher, very gently provides the information I need to be better at cleaning my teeth without being a schoolmarm. He mentions things in passing, and I learned that there are brushes that can be applied to the lower gums to stop gum recession, etc. and I've started using them, as well as a water flosser every night before bed. And my gums are looking better and much healthier, thanks to Dr. Jason. Preventive care is so much better than trying to clean up gum loss. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Jason Chan for 5+ years now (and his father Dr. Raymond Chan before he retired some years back). Dr. Chan is the best dentist I've ever had and his entire staff at Factoria Dental Care are wonderful. They are caring, professional, take their time with you, and do an awesome job. I've been seeing Dr. Jason Chan and his dad Dr. Raymond Chan for many years. They are both meticulous, caring, eager to explain every step they are taking, why that step is needed, and what the goals are. Most recently, I am having to replace a crown and add a tooth to my partial. Dr. Jason, a UW Dental School Grad, goes the extra mile to include me, patiently explaining every detail of the procedures. I was in the chair for nearly two hours. That broken crown tooth required some work. Plus, I had another tooth filled. And I got comforting pats on the shoulder and "You're doing great," the whole time. But there's more. Factoria Dental Care receptionist/bookkeeper, Monica is simply awesome. Friendly, and like Dr. Jason, eager to assist in any way she can. She went over the proposed cost of the procedures to be done. Came to write a review and was really surprised by the feedback that was given to Dr. Jason Chan's office. I had the completely opposite experience as the team was nice to me and made me feel comfortable since the dental chair isn't my favorite place to be in. Dr. Chan explained things really well so that I could understand and was even able to fix my problem that day! He made me so comfortable that I didn't even feel the shot!!! It took me a month to write this review because I was busy with work and couldn't find time to do it. Now I do. I was recommended by my friend to visit Dr Raymond's dental clinic as I wanted to get my wisdom teeth out. On my first appointment Dr Jason told me that I need not only get my teeth out but also to treat them as I had way too many cavities. He presented with a very good treatment plan that fit with my tight schedule. I always liked that about this clinic that they always adjust it to my schedule or I could call to rearrange my appointments. Very friendly and convenient. I never liked going to a dentists but my experience with Dr jason and other staff is very positive. I look forward to going to my next deep cleaning and check up. Don't trust Yelp review. Two stars are for the friendliness of the front desk staff and hygienist. Dr. chan was absolutely rude and not gentle on treatment. Insisted me to take certain time appointment "to fit his schedule" although I told him it's not the best time for me. His overall attitude to patients was awful and unrespected. Tools and machines are super old school, I remember dentists used those 20 years ago already. Professional dentists and very friendly staff! I had some fillings and had my wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Jason. He was very professional and made sure that I experienced the least amount of discomfort possible. He also did not charge me for any follow-up appointments after my wisdom teeth extraction. My parents were treated by Dr. Raymond and they had good experiences too. I also appreciate how they always try to make sure the patients won't pay more than necessary. My dad used up his insurance last year, so they helped him move some of his treatments to this year so that his treatments are covered by insurance. Overall, I think this clinic truly cares about its patients. I would definitely recommend it to my friends. read more

Absolutely a trap. They asked me schedule four appointments for a deep cleaning and another two appointment for some filling, and some follow up treatments. I already forgot how many times I have been there and how much I have been charged. I only remember every time I was charged $70 - $150 at front desk and I would still get a mail from them asking for about the same amount. (they will not tell you how much you will be charged in advance) I think I have spent $1500 in past few month even I have dental insurance. I swear I will not go there anymore! read more

Very horrible dental service. When my friend having the general cleaning, Was told one hour deep cleaning every other month is good enough, then we made the first appointment. They actually gave a two hours deep cleaning at one time so they charge double I guess, my friend got a fever after the treatment for all the time, so he called back to try to get some description, while Dr.Chan tried to offer another kind of service without giving any good suggestion how come he got a fever. Now my friend's fever is getting worse, it's been almost a month after the deep cleaning care, suffered from a fever everyday. Wondering having an infection from the dental care. its been a while since i've been to a civilian dentist, so i wasn't all too sure what to expect except for that what i've experienced from military dentists. I was greeted with a warm smile by the receptionist, and after i was called back, the dental assistant who did my teeth cleaning was very nice and friendly. the x-ray technician was also really nice and professional as well. i do wish i could have had more time actually speaking with dr. chan (elder), as i felt that he really wanted to just get to the bottom of what he wanted to tell me just to leave. i had some questions regarding my teeth, and he basically said that he had other things to attend, so he would explain them the next time i came in. i feel that since I'm paying for their service, his time should be included in that as well. also, when i asked about the pricing, i was told that my visit wouldnt cost more than $50 after my insruance factored in, but i was charged $70 instead. I'm scheduled for another appointment in november, but I may hold off for a bit and re-evaluate whether or not i want to go back there or check somewhere else. otherwise, it's a nice, clean facility with (mostly) friendly staff. read more

I just saw Jacquie for my semi annual dental cleaning today. It was a good experience. She is very professional. She has been doing this a over 20 years. She is also a hypnotherapist. During the cleaning she makes sure that I am comfortable and not too nervous. I am really afraid of the sound of drill bit on my teeth. But she reassure my everything will be fine. My teeth are extra clean now! I had seen by Dr. Raymond Chan the past few years for my cavity as well. He is very gentle and professional too. He has many years of experience as well. He also helped me with my infected crown a couple years ago. He did a great job. By the way his son Jason is joining him now at the clinic. Highly recommended! Worst dentist in the world!!!!!!! I visited this dentist for my wisdom teeth, he said I had several teeth needed to be filled. What important is that I didn't feel anything about these teeth. But I still let him do the repair. Then the nightmare started. After the first repair, one of my tooth started to hurt. I told the doctor and this is what he said "Could you come in and see doctor, it might just me a little high and need an adjustment. Just a fraction of a hair can make it hurt. We would just need a bout 15 min of your time? When could you come in?" So I revisited him and let him do some adjustments. After that I went to Florida for my vacation. Then the tooth pain ruined my whole week. At beginning I only felt pain after drinking warm water or cold water. After three or four days I felt pain out of nothing. I couldn't sleep at night and I have to take pain killers. I asked my uncle who is also a dentist but not in Seattle, he told me that this dentist must hurt the nerve of my tooth. And I may need root canal therapy in the future which is too expensive for me to afford. I hate this dentist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He ruined my life!!!!!!!!!!!! Another horrible thing about this dental clinic: after my first visit, the doctor said I need a toothpaste containing fluorine. It's 35 dollars, and we decided to use my boyfriend's insurance to pay for this one cause it would be cheaper. Now both my boyfriend and I receive the bill for this toothpaste, they charge us twice for this toothpaste! If you want to have a lot of extra dental work done that is not needed, go to these guys. I went in to have my teeth cleaned because our regular dentist was booked out for a month. Upon examination after cleaning I was told that I had 4 cavities, needed deep cleaning (two separate office visits) and my wisdom teeth should be removed. Thousands of dollars! Back to our regular dentist, one small "possible" cavity, no deep cleaning needed and wisdom teeth were fine. watch out! read more

Dr. Chan is a kind and caring dentist. I went to him for years. He goes above and beyond to make sure I am being taken care of. Even after I moved out of the area, I continued to drive out to get my dental care with him. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because when I had to change my dental insurance and I became a full-time student, I called ahead of time to ensure they were aware that I had a change and that I could no longer afford to pay large bills out of pocket.... and actually I would like to have to pay no bills out of pocket (only copay if necessary). I also called the insurance company to be informed for myself. After the very first appointment, they were charging me over $95. I made several calls to his assistant to try to understand this and my calls were met with accusations and judgement instead of an apology and an attitude of resolution. Now, almost 18 months later, I called and spoke with Dr. Chan himself and I have resolved my account. He is sweet and understanding. These two dentists ruined my life. Three months ago I got three teeth filled by one of the Dr.Chan. During the surgery, he left me at the table for more than 20 minutes. He didn't say anything, just left me there. After two days later, one of my tooth still hurt. I contacted them, they told me to come over and they could do the adjustment. So I went to see the dentist again. This time another Dr. Chan did the adjustment. After that it was Christmas holiday. I went to Florida, the pain come with me to Florida. Totally ruined my vacation. From then on, the pain never goes. I cannot sleep at night, I cannot use that tooth anymore. I thought maybe two or three months this pain would go. But now it's been three months. I woke up last night because of the pain again. I cannot stand this anymore. I don't want anyone to suffer this kind of pain. I have been a regular patient of Dr. Chan's since 2001. I have always been well served by Dr. Chan and his staff. Not only are they very friendly and accommodating but they are very good at getting the patient the best deal from the insurance companies. Dr. Chan does excellent work. I have a number of crowns on my teeth and the only one that gave me trouble and broke was the one crown that Dr. Chan did not do! He is gentle, patient and very concerned about the patient's comfort. After already paying the bill, Dr.Chan continually decided to keep billing us fees that apparently were "unpaid" and with no explanation. We called them and contacted them many times to no avail, as they only continued to bill us without ever providing an explanation as to what these extra fees were for. Only after telling them we would leave a bad review online did they stop billing us. I have been a patient of dr chan for almost 20 years. I felt the need to write a positive review because he changed my life. I recently went through a fairly long procedure of implant surgery on my front lateral teeth. They genetically never developed. Dr chan recommended that I hold on to my baby teeth as long as they can hold on. I am 24 and realized that they were going to fall out any day. I had slot of spacing and got ridiculed because of it. I presented him with my concern and my self consciousness and was vert sympathetic and extremely caring . I knew it was going to be a financial hard ship but I knew I needed to pull the trigger.
