My hygienist "calls me in" after my appointment time, which then ensures a later end to my appointment. This is highly inconvenient for my work calendar. - I also don't appreciate being called after other patients who have checked in after I have. This too happened on the last 3 cleanings I scheduled. - Joy; office manager is quite unhelpful. I shared a financial hardship and attempted to explain my concern with the necessary procedure. She was implacable and resistant to offer solutions. After realizing there would be no movement or help from the office, I moved forward with the procedure and its original cost. I paid in full that day. Imagine my surprise when the office billed me an additional $78 post visit. That was the last straw. I had already paid over $1000; of which they had itemized for me and Joy said was non-negotiable. That should have been the final bill. I have already schedule a cleaning with another practitioner. It was time to move on. But the "nickle and dime" additional bill was my limit. I had to post a review. I was a long standing client. I actually *paid* my bills in full. If this is how they have treated me, I worry for other individuals in similar or more challenging life stages. I don't expect recompense. I just hope if you have read this fully, you are aware. There are *many* other general dental practices in the area. I suggest you look elsewhere for dental care.

I cringe so badly and press my hands so tightly that my palms came close to bleeding from nail marks at the end of the session. But thanks to Factoria Family Dentistry and Drs. Kang and Nishimura and their crew, I have felt a lot more comfortable going to the dentist. They have made my dreaded visits to the dentist a lot more manageable. Mel, the girl at the front desk is very sweet and never fails to call with a reminder. They work great with our insurance company and both Dr. Kang and Dr. Nishimura are fantastic. They are absolutely great in explaining everything to you in every detail. They also have great hygienists who are patient and always try to keep you calm and collected. Our entire family goes to this clinic and we would not go anywhere else. The office is nice, there is a huge window with trees from every room, so nice environment throughout the experience. They always give you great supplies after and they work great with the insurance companies. And they have headphones available upon request as well. If you are looking for a good dental clinic, you should give this one a try. They are also conveniently located in Bellevue with ample parking.

Sixth months of pain thanks to this office's negligence…read more Going to this dentist resulting in me probably needing a root canal. I came in to get some simple fillings done, and I'm now saddled with hundreds of dollars of bills, to pay for procedures that screwed up my teeth. The doctors left (with full knowledge) overhangs on both of my fillings. This means that whenever I flossed, the floss would catch on the fillings and pull on them. The dentist informed me that this was normal and I would just need to pull through my floss for the rest of my life. After a month of pain, I went back to ask why the fillings still hurt. They took x-rays, shaved one of them down a little bit, and told me the other was fine and I should go home. I developed hot and cold sensitivity. I finally visited another dentist with 30+ years experience. I've now learned that purposely leaving overhangs on fillings is absolutely not normal, and that what they've done is careless at best. I saw the x-rays myself this time, and you can clearly see the sharp, jagged overhang's that were left after the fillings were put in. I've also learned that One of the filling simply broke because of the way that they left the overhangs. Until I've had over $700 in dentistry bills, and six months of dismissed pain. I know I will likely need a root canal in one of the teeth, and I needed to get both fillings replaced. This place looks great on the outside. The customer service is excellent. However, I would caution anyone against blindly trusting that this office knows what they're doing.

Do not come to this dentist! They were too quick and…read moreextremely unprofessional around getting wisdom teeth out. They weren't able to get all of my teeth out because they didn't sedate me enough. The dentist told different stories about how many they pulled out, and it turns out he only got a HALF of one tooth out. So I have to go through recovery TWICE. They had minimal post op instructions, and didn't even call after to check in. Before the appointment, I filled out paperwork and sent it in and then I filled out the same exact thing at the office. Unorganized, unprofessional, and a sketchy business model. PLEASE do yourself a favor and stay away from this dentist unless you want lots of trauma from getting your wisdom teeth outs ( which shouldn't be that big of a deal )

I am writing this in the hopes that no one else is unfortunate enough to accidentally come to this…read morehorrendous establishment. After going to another oral surgeon after they botched my wife's it is appallingly obvious how unprofessional this business is. I will go into detail below. My wife and I come in first thing in the morning for her scheduled removal of 4 wisdom teeth. Right off the bat she has to sign a bunch of paperwork that she already did. Didn't think much of it though other than some annoyance. Then she goes into the back for operation. At first it sounds like it's going well, then I hear her start to make noises. She starts wailing and crying and it sounded like she was being tortured by the CIA in a different room. It was under a very clear understanding that she was supposed to be deeply sedated and asleep for the entire operation but that's not what happened. The stuff that comes after with communication with the inept Dr Shireman was absurd. He could not keep his story straight on any topic regarding this. My wife was supposed to have deep sedation. It is the level below general anesthesia and the level above moderate anesthesia. Under deep sedation you will be asleep and incapable of verbal responses but you don't need a breathing machine like general anesthesia. It was clearly communicated to Shireman and it was even in our invoice that we paid for deep sedation. But this is not what she received. She got moderate sedation and ended up awake for the operation which put her in a severe state of panic so bad they had to stop the operation. Mistakes happen, but how you handle a mistake defines you as a professional and a person. Below I list all of the things he said that didn't line up with things he previously said: 1. Right at the emergency halting of the operation he tells me that the sedation wasn't strong enough and the only other thing they could do is general anesthesia which requires a ventilator to breathe for you. This suggests that she was on deep sedation as this the level right below GA. BUT she was not on deep sedation! She was only on moderate sedation as admitted on a phone call. This was not what we paid for and not what was on the signed invoice and not what was agreed upon. To this is only excuse was a pathetic accusation that it was his assistant that made the mistake. Absolutely embarrassing to not own up to your mistakes. 2. Another absurd miscommunication/lie, at the end of the operation he told me that they removed 1 and half of her teeth. This part is honestly so ridiculous it's funny. Later on a phone call with my wife's mother he tells her that he removed TWO of her teeth completely. Then later along communication he says that only ONE tooth is removed. And guess what we just found out today during my wife's second surgery done by a competent dentist? That he DIDNT EVEN FULLY REMOVE THE ONE TOOTH. HE STILL LEFT THE ROOT OF THE TOOTH. Absurdity to the point of humor. 3. Some other unprofessional things, afterwards the written Post Operation was in broken English. Littered with typos and grammatical errors. Post operation was also barely explained to us. We had to do almost all of our research ourselves. All of these things just gave Dr Shireman an extremely shady character that I wouldn't hope anyone would go to for a tooth removal. We were able to get a full refund after a lot of argument and convincing and pathetic excuses. Even had to go as far as threatening litigation because he didn't want to refund the tooth that he didn't even fully extract. What a joke

My review is about the doctor's office, not about the doctor…read more Dear Dr. Johnson, I would definitely recommend you to hire a smarter secretary. I called (2 times) and emailed (sent 3 emails, NEVER got a response!) and sent my xrays asking if the doctor can extract my teeth. She assured he can do, but when I got to the office (after two weeks of waiting) he said he just don't do it. I lost 2 weeks of time and 2 hours of going there and back for useless consultation because of the unprofessional secretary. I got cavity on one of the teeth I needed to extract while waiting for the appointment. And now I need to search for another doctor and wait again! Thank you very much!

Or at the very least, get teeth clean with some super sonic device that vibrate every particles of tartar. While the tartar particle dances because of joint from the high pitch sound, they forget to grab on the teeth. Therefore, Dr Johnson will take them away for you. Tartar got their asses kicked for good. That's what I just did today, #4. I am thinking about getting a root canal when I am bored but I will save it for another day. So can I go eat more candies again now, pleeaasssee??
