The staff were nice, wait wasn't too long. The appointment was straightforward and I got out of there in a timely manner. Dr. Park was professional and kind as well, although I didnt feel like the dental cleaning was super in depth (felt maybe a little too quick) but hopefully that's because my teeth were cleaner than usual? Just didnt seem like my usual cleanings I've gotten at other places where they get deep in there and are taking their time with each tooth. I also mentioned some recent sensitivity with certain teeth, but she didn't say anything about it after cleaning, just that I had no cavities. It was my first time there but hopefully it was cleaned well enough I dont have anything to return for anytime soon! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. The most painful and traumatizing experience I've ever had at the dentist. I've only had two dentists growing up and due to my main dentist being booked for a year out, I decided to go here in the meantime. It was horrific. I walked out crying with my gums throbbing. I couldn't eat for several hours after. I went to Dr. Sarah Park. During the visit she claimed I had "dead cavities" and to book the next appointment for that, but because of the painful experience I just left. She was fast and didn't seem to care about her work and delivering quality cleaning. She used the drilling machine the entire time. The drilling machine constantly hit my gums and I would winched multiple times yet she did not stop at any point to ask if I was ok or to give me a breather. I was just a nameless patient in and out and that was it. My family dentist would mainly use manual tools and occasionally use the drill. Always pleasant and comfortable yet great cleaning. And yes, I've learned my lesson, I'm not going anywhere else but him. read more

Writing this review on behalf of my mother, who was the patient. This low review is for the dentist Moro Byun only, not for the clinic as a whole. I found this clinic online, it had great reviews. My mother was visiting overseas and needed a filling replaced. I called the clinic for an appointment and was able to get an appointment within a couple of weeks. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The clinic itself was very clean and I saw them cleaning the counters to ensure patient safety, especially with COVID-19. Her appointment started right on time. She initally saw the dental assistant, May (spelling?), who was very welcoming and thorough with her exam. But the wonderful experience she had changed for the worse when she encountered the dentist, Moro Byun. Overall she was very rude and unprofessional. Before starting my mom's filling, she called out to May to make her a complicated drink like she was at a Starbucks. Never have I heard a dentist be so rude to an assistant in the middle of a patient enounter. It's no wonder that this dentist was also rude to my mom. She was very rough with her tools and injected way more local anaesthetic than needed for a simple filling. She talked down to my mom, absolutely no bedside manner. I am a doctor who works at a hospital and am appalled at her treatment with my mother. It's very interesting that when I look up reviews for this clinic, all the good reviews are for Dr. Han. We were told afterwards that he only works on Fridays. When you look up their website, there's no mention of Moro Byun as a team member. Despite the wonderful front desk staff and dental assistant, I will not be recommending this clinic to anyone since my mother had a very traumatizing experience with this dentist. If you do decide to go to this clinic, perhaps see Dr. Han instead, make sure you are scheduled with him when you call. read more

Went here about a year ago now. I still am traumatized from my experience- going here has made me fear the dentist!! Never did before going here. What happened was I came in initially for a cleaning, that was fine but the practitioners were a bit rough. At the end of the appointment they tell me I have some cavities I must get filled; ok cool. I come back a few weeks later and have them filled. This is where the trauma happened! Dentist starts drilling immediately after giving me a shot, um hello!? Barely anytime for the nova cane to work. This process repeated about six-seven times of the dentist giving me a shot and taking about 10 seconds to start drilling on my teeth. It made me have cold sweats and anxiety. My teeth never were fully numb. I could feel them drilling on it the whole time- dentist didn't seem to care even though I was communicating my pain to him!! I ended the appointment before he could move on to the opposite side of my mouth. Absolutely awful experience. And- the Cherry on top it to this experience is I have sensitivity that I never had before when chewing on harder things. AVOID this dentist- way better to go to a different one if possible. read more

New dentist, new practice and it is AWESOME! Dr Han is so nice and compassionate and gentle . I have very sensitive teeth, and he was so careful throughout the whole cleaning I didn't even feel a twinge. He did 2 quick filling replacements and I was so nervous about them hurting, and he said it would be 10 minutes or less and a piece of cake and he was totally right. I highly recommend this practice! And at the time of visit they were even friendlier and very welcoming, they also took pains to spell out any extra fees for doing service and made my wife who is here from the Philippines very comfortable for her first visit to the dentist here. It certainly depends a great deal on which dentist you get. The dentist who handled my routine exam and cleaning three months ago was very gentle and she worked quickly, Informed me efficiently about what she was doing at each moment, and made note of matters such as a strong gag reflex best handled by allowing me to sit up a little while she worked. These notes were completely ignored by the dentist who handled a recent visit about a cracked crown. I'd be unlikely to go back to the latter dentist unless he's the only one available, and even then I'd be hesitant. Perhaps they have similar technical skills but there is a huge difference in attentiveness to the patient. read more

I finally got my braces off in August and everything went well and very smooth (i had them for 2 yrs). Assistant and front desk ppl were very nice and friendly. Especially Dr. Lee is fantastic and explained every detail before and after the treatment. Another thing was this office provide general dentistry as well. I came here for a routine checkup and cleaning. I hadn't been to the dentist in a while so I was expecting a cavity or two, but by the time the exam was done, the dentist was telling me I had around 10 cavities that needed to be filled and a root canal! Dr. Yang and his dental assistant were condescending and made me feel stupid for having so many cavities like it was my fault even though I brush and floss everyday. I went to the front desk afterward to find out how much the root canal was going to cost bc my insurance wasn't going to cover it and the woman told me that they usually charge $1900 but they were going to give me a discount and only charge me $1550.. HA! When I got to my car I took a look at my teeth in the mirror and there was still some soft tartar on a tooth which tells me that they did a bad job and I noticed my teeth were un-evenly stained which usually after a cleaning they are not. After this appt i felt like crawling in bed and crying. I went to a different dentist to get a second opinion bc I just couldn't believe what Dr. Yang told me. The second dentist showed me my xrays and went through each tooth with me. I have 4 teeny tiny cavities that are so small they dont need to be filled, but just monitored. The big cavity that I supposedly needed a root canal on was close to the nerve but not touching it and I felt no pain or symptoms whatsoever, I had no idea that it was even there. The doctor did a few sensitivity tests and it ended up being a large filling. No root canal necessary. Basically because of my experience here, I think Dr. Yang is a scam artist who overcharges and does unnecessary work on patients for money. Please get a second opinion if you feel something is not right. read more

Newport Dental is part of WA Dental Group and has several locations. I had a bad experience here. Dr. Hyuk Yang was my dentist and I had red flags from the start as he roughly examined my teeth. He said I had 2 cavities but I had a teeth cleaning a month ago and they didn't find anything! I deeply regret getting the fillings. I was also getting 2 wisdom teeth extracted. First, when he was numbing me the needle STUNG bad because he didn't prep it properly. Second, the drill bit FELL OFF while he was drilling my teeth. I commented on that and was very wary but let him continue. Third, he scored my gum and I can see the mark, probably from the drill bit that fell off in the middle of drilling! Fourth, the gap between the teeth he drilled is much larger than before. I am very unhappy and will never trust dentists again, especially after I did my research on dental fillings and how every dentist has a different opinion on what counts as a cavity! read more

Recently had 2 crowns completed by Dr. Han at Newport Dental. I'm one of those people that wants to understand the details of all procedures. Dr. Han clearly explained what needed to be done, answered all my questions and provided options for me. As someone else posted, he has a gentle hand, is in tune with his patient and inherently knows how to make his patient as comfortable as possible. This was the first time I had a dentist use a dental dam where I wasn't gagging the whole time, wishing I could breathe. It was easy-peasy and with 2 crowns. The staff who work here are very nice. I've been coming here for almost a year and not once have I been seen on time. I have shown up on time to every appointment and every single time, they take me back 15-20 minutes later than my scheduled time. I wish they would just schedule me for a later time rather than make me wait. Today I purposely showed up 10 minutes late thinking I'd be on time (for their standards) but no. Again, they take me back 20 minutes later. So a half hour after my assigned schedule time. The dentist, Dr. Han, is great. Dr. Han is an amazing dentist. I came in to remove my wisdom teeth and he advised me the "hows" and "whys". Very thorough and answered any questions that I had with no hesitation. I had to come in 2 separate times for the removals due to the location of my wisdoms. The first half was done in an hour, mostly because the bottom one was partially erupted and it was a pain to get out. The second time, he removed the fully erupted upper tooth within 30 seconds (not even exaggerating). All in all, I was there for only an hour again. For some reason, my bottom jaw is hard to numb so I felt some pain here and there but he did not hesitate to inject some more anes! He made me feel comfortable and welcomed. I went here for a root canal a couple of years ago. I am giving a 2 solely because the root canal held up and I haven't had any issues with the cap coming off. However, the experience during the root canal was horrible. The root canal was very painful and the dr did not put in the correct size rods the first time so he had to take them out after seeing on the xray and reinsert them which is very painful. I was shown an xray of the tooth next to the one I had just paid $1700 for a root canal on and told I needed to have another root canal scheduled immediately, it was not clearly explained why. I was told the tooth in front of where I just had a root canal had been weakened and would affect every tooth if I didn't take care of it. This obviously terrified me. My experience during the first root canal was so bad, I said I would wait. A few months later I chipped my back tooth and I was so terrified I needed another root canal that I did not go to the dentist for 2 years. I went last week to the dental school where they clearly show you on the xrays where your cavities are and explain what they are doing. Multiple drs are able to look at the xray at the school instead of just one. I needed no more root canals as I had been told at this office. They filled my tooth last week and I have no issues. I wish I wouldn't have been so scared because of the poor experience I had here with a seemingly dishonest dr wanting to get more cash out of me. read more

I am a retired senior, what means I had visited so many dentists in the past. Last year (2016) I was in Seattle for family visit and decided to visit a dental office to fix my troublesome teeth: bad breath and one weak tooth. I called many dental offices to check as I was not a Seattle resident, which meant I didn't know any dentist in the area. However I think I was very lucky. I happened to visit the Newport Dental and Dr. Hyuk Yang was assigned to me. He and I consulted on those specific teeth and I finally had treatment last October 2017, six month after the initial consultation because I went back to Seattle for another family visit. I was very satisfied with the treatment, therefore, I decided to leave some good comments. This is my first time to leave comments to any business entity. 1) The dental office was very punctual: I got my crowns on timely manner during my visit. 2) Staff: they were courteous and comforting, what made me feel less nervous. 3) Lastly, but not the least: Dr. Yang was the best since I had one last good dentist 25 years ago. Since I came to America, it was very hard to find an excellent dentist because of the insurance program (had to visit dental offices designated only by the insurance company) and/or dentists who have too big hands to maneuver tools in my comparatively small mouth. To cut my comments short, I am extremely glad to see my bad breath was gone because my previous dentist didn't do the thorough job. The teeth were decaying under the gold crown! Also he found my weak tooth on upper side got crack, which gave me shiver (sometimes) when I happened to touch it with metal eating utensil. I got Root canal and new crown as well. Dr. Yang is so dexterous, patience, and attentive. Period! I think I don't need to add any more comments. I am just happy with my good luck of encountering him. read more

Receptionist was extremely rude and told me it wasn't her job to verify my eligibility for services with insurance. She was incorrectly billing for a deep cleaning service and stated that I was not eligible. This was not the case, but when asked to call insurance, she refused. She showed very little respect. When I asked to email the dentist, she said he did not have an email. She also said "go ahead" when I said I would have to find an office that would bill correctly. read more
