I was excited to see there is a new place to eat in downtown Seguin. While Coop N Ellie's is a bit higher than chain sandwich shops, they serve a quality sandwich. Delicious. Their decor included an upright piano, unique toothpick dispensers, and armadillo artwork. It is a pleasant, comfortable place to grab a bite. Try it.

$11 for a 4 inch sub, rip off. It was good but I won't be back at that pricing. I'm still hungry..

My husband had the ribs and I had the the El Tejano Taco. Both did not disappoint. They also had a Bacon Ranch Hashbrown Casserole, I do not like hashbrown casserole, but I tried it. Yum!!! We even brought some home for later. If you are in Seguin give it a try!

I finally tried Burnt Bean Co. after hearing all the hype about it being one of the best BBQ spots…read morein Texas, and honestly, I don't think it lived up to it. Overall, I'd give it a 2/5. The brisket was mediocre at best -- slightly under seasoned and the smoke flavor tasted a little off to me. The pork ribs were lacking flavor, and the bacon ranch potatoes were pretty much flavorless and definitely needed salt. The street corn pudding was okay, but it also felt bland somehow -- not really sweet or savory, just kind of there. I also tried the beef ribs, and they were just okay. They weren't nearly as tender as I expected, especially considering the reputation this place has. The highlights for me were definitely the beef cheek pastrami and the sticky ribs. The beef cheeks were melt-in-your-mouth tender and perfectly seasoned, and the sticky ribs had great flavor. For the amount of hype, long wait times, and "best in Texas" reputation, I left pretty disappointed. I honestly don't understand why this place is considered number one in the state.

On this days adventure I found myself in Seguin at the "Power Plant Texas Grill". But let's start…read morefrom the beginning, as you arrive you are greeted by an incredible view of the river and the restaurant that was once an old power plant (hence the name). Parking is little limited but on the side of the establishment is an auxiliary parking. As you walk inside you see the old power station. As you enter you are taking to your seat, either inside or in the patio area to see the view of the river. The personnel are very helpful and kind, they answer any questions regarding the menu. Now the food I choose the "Pecan Crusted Chicken" with a side salad and "Poblano Corn", there are many options for your sides to make it your choice. As far as the taste of the meal, it was delicious and outstanding flavors, I highly recommend this place.

However,…read moreif you want your food to be full of flavor and worth every penny, this is definitely not the place for you. It seems as if they object to using salt and pepper to season their food. Don't expect anything special, their corn tastes like it came straight out of the can. On top of the horrible food and dirty dishes, the service was also mediocre at best. If the tip wasn't already included in the gratuity , he wouldn't have made a dime. He was rude and not attentive. I'm sure there are other places in the area to enjoy. Wishing for the day that yelp allows you to give negative stars.
