I have been dying to try this place and FINALLY made it!! Let me say I got here before opening time around 10:30 a.m. and was able to catch all meats and sides! The variety of options they have made my heart happy as I am a person to want a little of everything! WAIT TIME & ORDERING: You have to form in a line till opening time and well worth it! Ordering is at counter, then condiments, drinks and then dessert. NOW FOOD: The Brisket was delicious and savory. I added the pickled carrots and pickles with onion on top of the barbecue sauce and was the cherry on top! I also had the brisket taco with the fixins it comes with and it was so fulfilling I didn't even need any barbecue sauce. Let me tell the pork ribs chef kiss and the meat fell right off the BONE and even the bone was tasty. I had the El Cinco sausage went perfect with the meal without out being too overpowering or spicy. You can use barbecue sauce but definitely not needed. SIDES: Cowboy beans and Mac and cheese are a must try! They are like no other place I been to and taste soooo good! In addition, to the street corn pudding. I wanted to try the others but thought I would leave for my second trip back. I will say these side complimented the brisket and so flavorful! SERVICE: The staff was very kind and helpful! Shoutout to the staff member assisting with the fixins/desserts she is the bomb.com and made going through the line easy. You could tell everyone of the staff members care and work hard to make sure the customers are taken care of! OVERALL: The food was SUPER DELICIOUS and I definitely stuffed my face. I regret I did not have room for dessert but will be back to try! Also, be on the lookout for specialty items that are not on the regular menu or on the weekends. I would recommend eating the meal with a Big Red or a Mexican coke.

Second time here and without a doubt, some of the very best brisket I've ever enjoyed. Wait time on a Friday was about an hour. We arrived at about 1045 for the 1100 opening. We shared the corn pudding and green beans as sides - very good. I'm not sure if this is everyday but they provided 2 free cans of beer per adult! Never seen that anywhere else. Staff are attentive and so helpful going through the line. Definitely worth the wait.

Expect a line! We arrived an hour early and still waited a long while. My Yelp friends and I enjoy checking out BBQ spots all over TX. Came here for the first time on our way to San Antonio from Htown. Service - was fair, you of course order at the front and they bring out your food like most bbq spots. They did check on us twice while eating which was good. We ate outside on there back patio which was pretty spacious. Food- we shared a meal with 3 kinds of sausage, ribs, burnt ends, brisket. The jalapeño & cheese sausage was good. The plain sausage was ok, and the chorizo style one was not great to me. The brisket I didn't care for. And not a fan of burnt ends but it was ok. For sides we got the beans, which I liked, and there version of Mac & cheese. Which I don't think I would categorize as that. More like a creamy pasta dish. Noodles very soft and very soupy which I know some like that texture. I think if it was titled as "cheese pasta" rather than mac & cheese then maybe I would have accepted it more? The very best thing I ate was the burger. And we split that 3 ways so it was just two bites. It was amazing, def recommend that.

This was honestly one of the best BBQ experiences I have ever had. I showed up around 9:30 am and did not actually get my food until about 1 pm, but it was absolutely worth the wait. We ordered a lot of things including the brisket, pork ribs, beef and jalapeño cheddar sausage, mac and cheese, street corn pudding, potato salad, BMF, beef cheek pastrami, brisket burnt ends, Moroccan smoked spiced lamb ribs, Chinese sticky ribs, and the baked sweet potato topped with butter pecan and toasted marshmallow. Pretty much everything we tried was incredible and honestly better than all BBQ places I have had in Texas. The meats were the real highlight. Everything was super tender and basically melted in your mouth. My personal favorite was the pastrami beef cheeks. If I had to limit my order next time, I would absolutely make sure to get the pastrami beef cheeks, the pork ribs, and the lamb ribs. The sides were also amazing. The mac and cheese was rich and comforting, the street corn pudding was packed with flavor, and the sweet potato with butter pecan and toasted marshmallow was surprisingly great and a really unique side. There was also a lot of seating. Overall this was an incredible meal and one of the best BBQ spots I have been to. If you are serious about Texas BBQ, this place is definitely worth the trip and the wait.

I finally tried Burnt Bean Co. after hearing all the hype about it being one of the best BBQ spots in Texas, and honestly, I don't think it lived up to it. Overall, I'd give it a 2/5. The brisket was mediocre at best -- slightly under seasoned and the smoke flavor tasted a little off to me. The pork ribs were lacking flavor, and the bacon ranch potatoes were pretty much flavorless and definitely needed salt. The street corn pudding was okay, but it also felt bland somehow -- not really sweet or savory, just kind of there. I also tried the beef ribs, and they were just okay. They weren't nearly as tender as I expected, especially considering the reputation this place has. The highlights for me were definitely the beef cheek pastrami and the sticky ribs. The beef cheeks were melt-in-your-mouth tender and perfectly seasoned, and the sticky ribs had great flavor. For the amount of hype, long wait times, and "best in Texas" reputation, I left pretty disappointed. I honestly don't understand why this place is considered number one in the state.

Went on a whim with my friends who had already dined here a couple of times. The last time they waited in line for 1.5 hours after arriving 11:30am. We arrived 10:58am and waited for 2 hours. I've read of long waits but being with friends, chatting and anticipating wasn't that bad esp. watching the line move along and having awnings along the buildings provided much needed shade. Some window fronts had small ledges that one could sit if you wanted so we did in a couple of places. I brought a personal neck fan and a thermos with iced Coconut water so I was hydrated. If it was later in the summer, I'm not so sure how I'd fare? It's best to come early because some items were selling out by the time we ordered. The first was the Coleslaw and "The Blake" Brisket Taco that included the Coleslaw and BBQ Sauce. By the time I ordered the 1 lb of Beef Cheeks Pastrami to go, I was told that was the last of it. Lucky me! My friend wanted to order some but fini! I shared some with her and my other friend so they could taste it. It was so fork-tender, slightly smoky and cutting into it the color was a deep burgundy-red! We were fascinated by it. I love Pastrami and I know Beef Cheeks are tender when done right so I was intrigued on their take on it. I would order this again! I also ordered 1 lb of the Prime Brisket to go. It was a little drier, less smoky than the Beef Cheeks and I had to use BBQ Sauce for some moisture. The El Tejano Brisket Taco sounded well balanced with the Red Salsa, Avocado Crema, Pickled Onions and Queso Fresco. The Pickled Onions & sauces complimented the smoky, tender Brisket. I actually thought the Brisket in my Taco was more tender than the Prime Brisket I got to go. It was a generous 4-slice portion esp. for $8. I think the Flour Tortilla could be somehow toasted. I bet a Sonoran style Flour Tortilla would be great as it has those toasted brown spots and is flavorful! I have some at home so I'm going to use that tomorrow. The only side that was appealing to me was the Potato Salad. I wasn't sure how it would be prepared as some places drown the Potatoes in a mayonnaise overload. They prepared it with a light dressing with chopped Red Peppers, Pickles and I think some onions & something that made them yellowish so the Potatoes shined. I wanted to try the meats as is without BBQ Sauce so I could enjoy it for its purity. I was given 4 White Bread slices, a small plastic container with onions and sliced pickles, 2 Horseradish sauces & 3 BBQ sauces. I'll try the Horseradish another day. When you order and initially pay, they just take your order and you move down to the next station for sides and prepping your food. I didn't know about the "Garnishes Available" with Pickles, Okra, Onions, Jalapeños and Bread til I read the sign afterward. My friends both ordered the "Chinese Sticky Rib Plate" that came with a "Cucumber Smash Salad". The Ribs were a bit salty and mentioned that they weren't this salty the last time they came. They had me try it and after a few chews, I could see how the smokiness and salt could be a bit much after a while. The Cucumbers were cut in chunks in what reminded me of a Korean Chili Sauce type of preparation. I just showed my receipt for the clerk to put the styrofoam box full of goodies together. My friend got up later and asked for some Okra. The Okra had a masculine smell to it so I only ate one piece. Near the utensil station is an area where you could buy t-shirts and I think some frozen or refrigerated items/meat? I saw a SF 49er white plaque so I asked the employee if the chef was from the Bay Area but he said he's from Texas and is just a fan. I told him I'm from the Bay Area and am a fan too! The bathrooms are wide and use drying fans vs. paper towels. I prefer paper towels esp. if you're going to wash your hands w/BBQ Sauce or grease. We walked out in the back area where the smokers were located since we could cut thru to the back parking lot in the cross street. Happy to have tried this and happy they won 2 Michelin Bib Gourmand Accolades in 2024 & 2025 and won Texas Monthly's Best BBQ Restaurant in 2025!! It's exciting to see local restaurants being recognized esp. for their BBQ. When I first visited in 2007, there were only a handful of BBQ spots that people would recommend. Now they're elevating their game and critics are noticing and on the map!! Support local!! To note: While in line, we saw people walking out with bags of food to go. Best to go earlier as possible, otherwise later in the day would be fine if can't wait in line. It would help to highlight the directions on how to order & locate them near the Menu Boards.

I'll start by saying: this is going to be long -- but worth it, just like the line at Burnt Bean Co.. I'm not a BBQ expert. I just love good food. So when my husband suggested a little road trip from San Antonio to Seguin for barbecue, I didn't know what to expect. We followed the GPS to Seguin, TX, and turned the corner to Burnt Bean... and immediately saw a line stretching an entire block. I looked at him and said, "Is this really worth it?" MY ANSWER...YES. ABSOLUTELY, WITHOUT A DOUBT, YES. We arrived at 12:17 p.m. on a Sunday. The line was long, and I was skeptical. But we had made the drive intentionally, and my husband had been talking about this place for weeks after seeing it on YouTube. (I refused to watch the videos because I wanted my reaction to be completely unbiased.) And honestly, he's usually the one compromising for everyone else, so this time we were going to do what he wanted. One of the reasons we committed to the wait was the staff member who regularly came outside to update the line. He wasn't rushed or shouting quick announcements. He was friendly, warm, and genuinely engaging. He'd share what was still available, what had sold out, and even chat a bit with the customers in line. That small act of hospitality made a huge difference. In a time when good service can feel rare, this felt intentional. Even the employees at the neighboring shops were welcoming as we waited outside their doors. Not a single negative comment when I would walk in and mention we were waiting in line for Burnt Bean. One shop owner even held my purchases until after we finished lunch without hesitation. That sense of community added to the experience. We waited exactly one hour. All 3,600 seconds were worth it. When we reached the door and saw that this small-town spot had earned not one but two Bib Gourmand distinctions from the Michelin Guide (2024 and 2025), I was shocked in the best way. Inside, the line continued cafeteria-style but far cleaner and more polished than any cafeteria I've seen. At the carving station was Chef Ernest Servantes himself, though I didn't realize it at first. Even though we'd studied the menu board, we still felt undecided once it was our turn. And not once did we feel rushed. No one barked orders. No one pressured us to move along. The entire line moved calmly and respectfully. I ordered a half pound of turkey, and Chef handed me a sample of the juiciest, most flavorful turkey I've ever tasted. One bite and I was sold. As we moved down the line, Chef called out each order clearly and calmly to the team. Proteins first, then sides. When we received our tray, I immediately noticed the care in the presentation. Nothing slopped together. No bean juice running into another item. As someone who doesn't like her food touching, I deeply appreciated that attention to detail. You could feel the pride. At the condiment station, another kind employee greeted us, shared a bit of history, and offered not only pickles and onions but conversation, and again, no rush. While I thought he was just being kind to us, while we sat to eat, I could hear him talk to everyone who went to his station in the same kind manner. What struck me most was the atmosphere: I knew nothing about the restaurant or its concept before walking through the door, but I did not need to know it, because I could feel it, taste it, smell it, and see it. Even with a line out the door, it felt like being at a family Sunday BBQ. It felt like home. It felt like we were at my husband's tio's house, and we were the "bougie primos," sitting in the AC, listening to tejano music on the radio. The staff genuinely seemed happy. Proud. Invested. And the food? Exceptional. Simple flavors executed perfectly. Juicy, hot, fresh. It truly felt like love was infused into every bite. The restaurant didn't have that heavy smoke smell that clings to your clothes. It wasn't about theatrics or giant smoke stacks. It was about quality, care, and intention. For dessert, we chose the Peach Cobbler Taco and a slice of carrot cake. It was about $140 for lunch, drinks, and dessert, and worth every penny. Even the ice cream accompaniment was fabulous. Nothing here felt standard. Chef Ernest later came around to check on tables. During our conversation, I realized that everything I had been feeling, the warmth, the pride, the purpose, it was exactly what he intended to create. That's when you know you're experiencing something special. Before leaving, my husband wanted to see the pits outside. Chef came over again and shared more of his story, learning barbecue from his father and grandfather, opening during the pandemic when restaurants were closing, building from backyard cooks to earning national recognition. A humble guy from Uvalde, Texas, who clearly pours heart and heritage into every plate. His passion, tenacity, and commitment to excellence are obvious. We came for BBQ. We left with an experience. And we'll absolutely be back.

My wife and I were really excited to try the No.1 rated BBQ spot in Texas by Texas Monthly, we live in San Antonio so it wasn't a super far drive. We opted for Sunday brunch since we passed by on Saturday and the line was a 2h+ wait. We arrived Sunday morning @6:30AM since they open the doors @8 and were about 10th to enter! It was a bit disappointing to see that they didn't have everything available but also understandable since they tend to sell out on Saturdays. What we got: The Casanova - Their version of chilaquiles with brisket AND Barbacoa. It was really delicious, salsa was not spicy at all but I eat a lot of spicy foods, would definitely recommend Blue October - Croissant , brisket, egg, jalapeño, cream cheese and strawberry Jam. It was delicious, croissant was very fluffy and light. We ended up eating this later in the day and took it to-go when we were there. Small Menudo - I'm not a big menudo person and I even liked it. We got this for my wife and she loved every bite of it, it was spiced very well and super flavorful! Order of Beef Ribs ( 2 per order) - These ribs are the reason I removed a star. I was most excited to try them and they were the most disappointing. They were also the most expensive thing we got here. They were very small for "Dino" sized as advertised on their menu. The ones we got were 80% straight fat so there wasn't a lot to eat unless you like just eating rendered fat. I probably wouldn't get them again El Cinco (House sausage) - The flavor was alright, I wanted there to be more of a snap when eating it and more flavor. Good thing to try but also probably wouldn't get again. Potato Salad - Nice and bright flavor, really nice pairing with the brisket and what you would want out of a BBQ potato salad Banana Pudding - Super yummy! The pudding itself was really light and fluffy with a cinnamon sugar chip to top it off! Would definitely get again Prickly Pear Lemonade - By far the best lemonade I've ever had! If you love prickly pear or lemonade this is a must try! Peach Cobbler taco - They only have this on the weekends but it was really yummy. Comes with a delicious scoop of cajeta (I think) ice cream with peach cobbler inside a cinnamon sugar fried tortilla. We got this to-go Overall this place was pretty good, is it the best in Texas? I haven't had everything so I'm not sure but I'd believe there's better out there. I'd still recommend to come and try the food, most of it is pretty good!

In my personal opinion, it's not the best BBQ we've had in Texas -- but it's still a must-try if you're ever in the area. We arrived shortly after they opened, and it was honestly wild to see how many people were already waiting. I'll never get over the dedication of folks who line up outside before opening! We ended up waiting a little over an hour before getting inside to place our order. The menu is straightforward and easy to navigate, the staff is friendly, and they do a great job keeping the line moving as efficiently as possible. For sides, my personal favorite was the potato salad, while my husband loved the mac & cheese. What we ordered: Brisket -- Normally what we look forward to when we visit a place, unfortunately, it was a little dry on the day we visited, so we ended up using quite a bit of sauce. Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage -- Very flavorful and meaty. I would have liked a bit more jalapeño heat, but still very good. Pork Ribs -- We don't usually order ribs at BBQ spots, but these looked too good to pass up. They were tender and fall-off-the-bone while still having a nice bite. Hot Cheeto Queso Mac -- Extremely filling -- this could honestly be a meal on its own. Cowboy Beans -- I didn't try them myself, but my husband said they were solid, just nothing particularly standout. Potato Salad -- Refreshing and exactly what you want from a classic BBQ side. The owner was walking around checking on guests and making sure everyone was enjoying their food, which I always appreciate. You can tell he takes pride in his craft. I love seeing the support they're getting and wish them continued success!

To say I was excited to try the No. 1 BBQ spot on Texas Monthly's list would be an understatement. I visited during the off-season in winter and opted for Sunday brunch figuring the line would be more manageable, which turned out to be a great call. The wait was about an hour, but it went by quickly. I ended up chatting with the older couple in front of me and even joined them to eat, which made the experience even more memorable. But on to the food. I was pleasantly surprised that the full BBQ menu was available alongside the brunch offerings so I decided to do both, brunch on the spot and BBQ to take home. The brisket huevos rancheros was easily the best version I've ever had incredibly flavorful and very filling. Everything I took home was just as impressive. The brisket was moist, the jalapeño sausage was juicy and the queso mac was ultra-creamy with a satisfying crunch and a kick from the Hot Cheetos on top. There were so many great options that it was hard to choose, which makes a return visit a must. Bonus points for the owner personally stopping by to check in on our experience and for the free beer.

    The line inside

Hands down the best brisket on earth. It's not even a close fight!!! I've been to 8 of the top 10 BBQ joints in Texas, the best KC and surrounding area has, and most of the better ones nationally, and nothing I've had deserves to be in this conversation. It took an hour and a half to get in, but once inside the service was fast, friendly, and very professional. While in line I thought they needed to move to a larger location, but no they need to stay right where they are. For the level of quality they serve on a daily basis it is perfect!!!

My husband came in looking forward to eating some BBQ. He left feeling like he'd just visited family. The owner is the most friendly, intuitive and talented chefs in the business. The food is the best there is. We've been to so many BBQ places. This is hands down the best. It's worth the drive, it's worth the experience. Thanks so much for sharing your great flavor with the world. #1 in the business.

If I were going to try to go on Saturday, what time should I arrive? Like how early do people line up for this? 8-9-10?

I waiting in line for an hour on a Thursday. On a Saturday you should be prepared to wait at least 2 hours.

How bad is the wait on a Sunday?

Bring a chair, sun block and a cooler..

What is the typical wait time to get in? Do you have to get in line early to get food?

We went on a Thursday at 1pm and we asked two ladies who were leaving how long they waited & they said almost 3 hours & they had gotten there when it opened. Where we were in line, probably would've been 3 hours too

Is it dog friendly or outside sitting?

I'm not sure about dog friendly but there is outside sitting towards the back

It definitely disappointing on our first impression. As for the food, it was solid. I ordered the pancake platter and they were amazing, ginormous, fluffy, and perfect. It comes with bacon or sausage but i have my bacon too my date because I don't eat pork. My date got three tacos, potato egg and bacon, barbacoa, and picadillo with potato. I'm picky about potatoes at Mexican restaurants, but these were spot on. The barbacoa looked great and wasn't greasy, and the picadillo was delicious as well. The tortillas were mid. I've had better, but overall, the food was great. I would definitely come back, but I think I'll stick to the drive-thru next time to avoid the wait!

What I did not expect was for these tacos to show up looking like they'd been training for a strongman competition. These things are enormous. Not "big." Not "hefty." I'm talking full‑blown California‑burrito impersonators. Each one weighs about ten pounds and could double as a doorstop. I opened the bag and immediately understood why the Uber Eats driver looked spiritually exhausted. I ordered three: * Bacon, egg, cheese & potato * Sausage, egg & cheese * Bean & cheese The bacon one... listen. Something in there was giving "mystery smoke." I don't know if it was the bacon, the potatoes, or a ghost from a BBQ pit that refused to move on, but the flavor was doing its own side quest. Not awful -- just confusing enough that I paused mid‑bite like, "What exactly am I tasting right now." The sausage one was solid, no complaints, but the bean and cheese? That one was the star. Simple, authentic, comforting -- the Beyoncé of the order. Zero drama, zero surprises, just good. And the real MVP moment: they delivered to New Braunfels. From Seguin. Through Uber Eats. That's not delivery -- that's commitment. That's "we will cross county lines to make sure you're fed." Even though one taco wasn't my vibe, I'd absolutely order again -- just with a different lineup. When the tacos are this massive and the delivery radius is this heroic, you give them another shot.

We decided to stop by after some shopping in the area, we both wanted tacos and this showed up. We don't eat pork so we got the quesabarria with chicken and let me say *chefs kiss*. Adding some of the homemade salad they bring to your table made this meal 10/10. I've been thinking about it since we left! Free chips, a delicious Mexican soda and chicken quesabarrias what more do you need? Tldr; porkys in a MUST

I ordered online for pickup, and my order was ready quickly. Everything was fresh, hot, and prepared just right when I picked it up. They also included plenty of hot sauces in the bag, which is always a bonus. I ordered a carne asada taco, an al pastor taco, and a quesabirria. The tacos were really good, with the al pastor being my favorite of the three. I didn't love the quesabirria, though. It was a little light on the meat and loaded with cheese. That said, it's probably more of a "me" issue since I'm not a huge fan of overly cheesy dishes. If my husband had been with me, he likely would have loved it because cheese is definitely his thing! Overall, I was very happy with the food and would definitely eat here again. I'll be back.
