Pedro got a team back to do some fixes, and we were happy with the final result. It was harder to get the railing team in. Took him 3 tries with 3 different subs to get them out, so there was a couple of weeks delay. Throughout, Pedro kept me informed of what was going on. Our project was the installation of an 8' x 11' elevated attached deck. I had whittled my initial list of contractors down to six before choosing All Decks. Cost was competitive but was not the lowest bid. This was the third deck in this location. The previous two were wood. This time we chose to have a composite deck installed, to not have a stairway, and to have the area underneath the deck protected from rain. As this was an elevated deck, it was covered by municipal code requirements more stringent than when the previous two decks were built. We worked with Adam during our initial contact, and in designing the deck. We chose Dekorator planking, Trex handrails, and the Trex RainEscape system. We wanted to minimize supporting posts, as a competing bid would have used 6 posts, and we had seen decks on houses like ours that had 5 to 6 posts. All Decks was able to use only 2 posts by having larger-size (6"x6") posts and by attaching one side of the deck to our cantilevered 2nd floor. The All Decks showroom was extremely helpful in choosing materials and colors, and in evaluating the RainEscape system relative to alternative underdeck rain coverings. Kendall did thorough work when he visited to do the detailed yard survey required by code. The level of detail in the resulting documents was unexpected and illuminating. The three-man team led by Chris who put up the deck was professional and unobtrusive. A special challenge was attaching one side of the deck to our cantilevered 2nd floor as the current municipal code requires an exceptionally robust connection. Installing this connection required removing several plank-and-tongue grooves from under the overhang of the cantilevered 2nd floor, which is very difficult without causing damage. I was skeptical that it could be done and was pleasantly surprised to see the excellent appearance of the re-installed planking. (As expected, I repainted the reinstalled planks myself.) As for the steel-bar-reinforced concrete footings, Chris meticulously set their height so as to enable the potential future installation of a ground-level deck made from pavers. The gentleman who delivered and picked up materials and the portable toilet was discreet and careful. Crystle ensured smooth communications for scheduling, billing, etc. We are very satisfied with the All Decks team and their work.

They were affordable, knowledgeable, and very willing to work with my needs and my budget. They were able to obtain the permits that were needed which is an important and valuable service. They also took care of the structural engineering that was needed to make sure that we had sufficient support for the deck. Their showroom is very helpful. There are samples and some mockups of decks, railings, lighting, etc. There are lots of options and the staff was great about explaining the options but not pressure-upselling. I felt comfortable choosing the materials and extras with their help. After the project was finished, there was one support post that didn't look finished to me when I looked at it from our dining room window. All Decks was great about coming out. After seeing and understanding what I wanted to upgrade, they were able to install a matching trim piece that made the post look complete. The deck has been installed now since Oct 2024. It still looks great and I couldn't be happier.

We are concerned with the manner that King County Roofing treated a fellow small business entity. King County Roofing did not follow through with the agreed-upon contracted concrete work with our associates. When approached in a very respectful manner by the associates to discuss with King County Roofing, a reduction in payment because of the quality of work and concerns that the services performed were not in accordance with the contract, the associates were meant with raised voices, and insults, by King County Roofing who threatened to destroy the project site and tear down what work had been done. Instead of listening to the concerns and affording the opportunity for both parties to come to a reasonable resolution to differing opinions about the job, King County Roofing became belligerent and disrespectful. King County Roofing presented themselves as trustworthy and honest contractors. We seek to support small businesses but cannot in good conscience recommend King County Roofing - and have others receive like treatment. We will also be reporting our concerns to the Better Business Bureau. We ended the working arrangement with King County Roofing agreeing to leave the project uncompleted, so as not to have any more dealings with King County Roofing. King County Roofing offered a $500 discount on the several thousand-dollar uncompleted contracted project. King County Roofing left remaining paint so our business could finish painting the area where King County Roofing left the work undone. We paid the full balance of the contracted work, minus $500, and a commitment by King County Roofing to honor a 25-year Warranty for the work they performed. When making payment to King County Roofing, they were informed of concerns about their job performance and lack of professionalism when working with a client and honoring a contracted agreement. This posting will not come as a surprise to King County Roofing. It is our hope that King County Roofing administrators will address these concerns and King County Roofing will become the respectful, trustworthy, business they purport verbally and advertise.

He was also very good at fitting the new AC into the space for the old one and ensuring it was sealed and weather proofed. However, when he finished the work, he left large boxes and packing materials scattered where he opened them and filling our kitchen floor and on the dining room table. He didn't do anything to organize the mess or break down the boxes. He said most of it was recyclable and he wouldn't do anything with it. Left us to clean up after he left and figure out how to manage and get rid of these large heavy boxes. Additionally, he had put the old AC on our deck. We asked if he would recycle the old AC and he agreed - charging us an additional $200 to take it. When he put it on our deck, it left piles of black (not sure what) that we had to clean after he left. Additionally, I had purchased a new bracket to support the new air-conditioner. He decided without consulting me to use the old bracket instead. (Hopefully it last for the long run!)
