They said they did not need to physically be at my home to give and estimate - just asked for specific photos. When I sent the photos, they said they will get back to me soon. I had a late night emergency where water was gushing off from a dishwasher pipe. I called Trisha in the middle of the night (3am) and she was super kind and helpful. She understood the problem and helped me over the video call to isolate the problem, helped shut down water supply to dishwasher, stop the water damage and turn off water supply for rest of the house. We received a quote from them a few years ago. I ultimately went with another company that had better availability and pricing. Later, I needed to get a quote for another job. She told me she would be out at a certain time and day but never showed up. I called and left a message, she eventually called back, apologized and rescheduled. We has some water backing up into a drain and we contacted The Pipe Doctor for a quote. Trish got back to us quickly and was able to quickly understand the issue and the pros/cons of how to approach it. They were able to come out the same day, but thankfully our situation wasn't an emergency so we scheduled an appointment for early the following week. Communication was excellent, with Trish informing us that they'd be an hour late and they arrived promptly at the expected time. Everything about the visit was super transparent. She did the play by play of what we say in the scope and saw that things were flowing through fine, and checked to identify any potential source of the water. She walked me through things to look for (older pipe fittings, seepage from the foundation), things to avoid doing (drano for certain pipes), as well as when and what to look for if we experienced the same issue in the future. I had to have my old, main water line replaced as it had sprung a leak. I hired The Pipe Doctor due to the many 5 star reviews. There was one 1 star review I should have listened to. The crew hooked the new water line up to the old one that went underneath the house. There was a 100% chance the old one would leak, just a matter of time. I figured that out too late. Well, after they filled up the hole with dirt, it sprung a leak. I let Trish know, she said they would fix it the next day. She came over the next day to pick up the check and said, they don't go under the house so I had to spend more money to hire someone to fix her mess. My 100-year old house's sewer out to the city water finally gave up. I chose to call the Pipe Doctor based on their high Yelp reviews, and that they were a local, woman-owned business. They did not disappoint! Trisha and her crew were wonderful. This was a difficult job, as the old pipes ran up to and under a very high retaining wall and I was afraid the repairs might involve removal and replacement of the retaining wall, which would have been very, very pricey. Trisha was quick to respond, personable and instructive. We ended up with three dig sites and replacing of the street-level sidewalk, but the retaining wall remained intact. The crew photographed stone paths and plants before moving them and placed them back properly when they were done. They were reasonably priced and jumped through all my insurance company's hoops. read more

I can't speak to the quality of The Pipe Doctor, but I unfortunately had a poor experience trying to schedule service. I called a week ago, and spoke to someone who was very friendly on the phone about a project we needed help with. She asked that I email her all of our info, and that she'd get back to me by the end of the day. A few days later, I still hadn't received a reply, so I called back. She apologized and promised she'd get back to me later that day. But she never did. I called again, and was again promised a call within 2 hours, but it never came. I ended up emailing yesterday to ask what was going on, and I was told me that their equipment was now broken so they wouldn't be able to do the work. I saw a lot of great reviews for the company on Yelp, so hopefully the actual work they do is great. But my experience doesn't instill much confidence. Trisha and her team saved me from potentially multiple days or weeks of being out of my house due to a sewer clog caused by a partially collapsed pipe. She came out quickly, did a quick fix so the plumbing was functional, and then scheduled the major work to be done while I was already planning to be away. She explained the benefits of relining the pipe that went out to the sewer main so I knew it was the right thing to do even though it added to the cost. She sent pictures as the work progressed and I'll be getting a video of the re-done sewer line so I have it for my records. When I couldn't find the cap to my oil tank (which was near where the work was done), she offered to come out with a metal detector to help find it which I greatly appreciated. I'm hoping over time the seam where the work was done will heal up and look less like a giant gopher burrowed through my lawn, but I don't think that's her work, it's just how rocky the dirt is under the grass. Trisha REALLY is amazing. Most Important: Trisha SAVED my backyard from being destroyed by a backhoe. By repairing the partially-collapsed spot in the sewer and then replacing the sewer line through pipe-bursting, we still have a beautiful backyard and deck. Trisha is amazing. We had a bunch of clogged drain water pipes. Trisha was the most responsive, came out when she said she would, and her price was reasonable relative to others (middle of the pack). A week later, a few of those drains clogged up again. Trisha was just as responsive, came out in a reasonable time period, and worked to clear up the drains again at no charge, pushing out 100 feet to the street. Highly recommend The Pipe Dr, they turned up when they said they would, did what they said they would, and offered a very competitive price for the hydrojetting and side sewer replacement. They provided a hydrojetting service to address our emergency blockage problem (water/sewer coming up bath and toilet not flushing), then via the camera we discovered our side sewer was 95% blocked with roots and decaying concrete via the original 1952 concrete pipe. They managed to get flow going the right direction, but a side sewer replacement was inevitable.... They successfully bid on the sewer replacement and did a fantastic job (for a reasonable price). The team worked over multiple days and kept in constant contact regarding status, etc. They finished when they said they would and cleaned up all the associated mess. Our sewer line clogged and backed up into our basement. The clog was cleared, but a large segment of our concrete sewer line was misaligned, and it was going to happen again. I got the recommendation from a large sewer company to dig down 8' under the sidewalk to replace the crushed sewer pipe, then shoot a liner to the middle of the street to connect with the city, and hopefully mitigate needing to do this again. I called Tricia for a competitive quote - she recommended the same remedy, and quoted me about a third of the price. Amazing drainage repair services! Our storm drain in our driveway was totally clogged and there was no drainage every time it rained. They came out and identified the drainage problem immediately and repaired the drain same day. After hydro jetting they discovered holes in the pipe and more drain clogs. It turned into a two day job because the cast iron pipe was completely impacted and rusted out. They cut the concrete, dug out a new channel and installed about 30 ft of pipe that led to a pop up drain. They also did a great job cleaning up afterwards, which most contractors don't bother with. Super knowledgeable, professional, affordable and skilled team. Highly recommend and will hire again if needed. read more

TL;DR: I cannot more highly recommend The Pipe Doctor. Professional, friendly, and great quality work. I will absolutely be using them for future needs. Our sewer pipes were blocked by both root intrusion and some shoddy work from years ago that finally gave way, and we had sewage backing up into our sinks. Not only did The Pipe Doctor have someone on-site within 24 hours (DAYS earlier than anyone else would come), she got us all fixed up and everything back in place before other companies would have even come out to diagnose the issue. The work is great, and will be a lot easier to service in the future if there's another problem elsewhere in the system. She was kind and responsive, answered all our questions as first-time homeowners who have never been through this process, and even offered referrals for any other plumbing work I wanted done in the future that was outside the scope of her business. I am so happy with the work Trisha and Josh did to fix my fully clogged sewer line during the COVID-19 crisis. If I could do it all again, the only thing I would have done differently is called them sooner! They: 1. Were super responsive. Every time I called, they either dropped what they were doing to take my call, or called me back ASAP. 2. Were punctual and reliable. They had to come twice and both times arrived when they said they would and called and gave me a heads up when they said they would. I got the impression they went out of their way to help me as quickly as possible. 3. Kept costs to a minimum and gave me all my options with accurate price estimates, even after my problem turned out to be much messier and more complicated than expected. I live in a very old house with very old pipes and as my problem turned out to be pretty extreme, they could have gouged me on the price... but they didn't! 4. Actually seemed to care about helping ME as a person. They were super busy working overtime, but between their first visit and their second, they kept in close contact and never forgot the details of my situation, and even followed up after everything was finished and they had already been paid, just to make sure everything was flowing smoothly and I didn't have any remaining questions or concerns. 5. Very professional. They've been doing this for a very long time, they know what they're talking about, and they're good at what they do. I wish everyone were like this! I could go on and on -- they're among the best contractors I've dealt with and I've dealt with quite a few. My advice to anyone reading this is: if you're stressing out about a sewer line problem or possible sewer line problem, don't try to fix it yourself and don't wait, just call Trisha and Josh. I had a very difficult root invasion which was causing issues at my house. It needed addressed pretty quickly. I contacted Pipe Doctor and they were able to visit me the same day, which is exactly what I was looking for (other firms in Seattle were trying to book me for days out, which wasn't going to work for me). If I could give Josh and Trisha 10 stars, I would. They completely saved the day (let's be honest, the WEEK, at least) for us. We apparently had three root intrusions in our side sewer line, which backed up our entire system and made it so we couldn't live in our house until this issue was fixed.
