Seattle Eastside Pavers installed pavers in our backyard in September 2023. We paid extra to have sealant put in between to pavers to make sure that we don't have weeds growing there. This was primarily the reason why we paid to have the pavers done. 1 year in and there are weeds already growing in between the tiles. There are visible gaps in between the tiles where the sealant should have been applied. It looks like the sealant work was not done well (check pictures). There are a couple of loose tiles as well, near the entrance of the backyard, which just points to shoddy work. Communication has also been pretty poor. I don't hear back about any questions or messages that I send until I email back again asking for an update. Great job, great man, great price - what else can one ask for. Walter and his sons did a tremendous job in paving our driveway, removing our planters, and replacing our lawns. His price was one of the fairest among the other quotes we got. The best thing about Walter is his flexibility. He's always a phone call away and will readily come down to the house if you have any questions about the work. Walter does not produce a design plan unlike most paving companies, but that worked fine with us because he was very thorough in his job and is flexible and open to our demands. This is one of the easiest recommendations I've ever made, and we will be contacting Seattle Eastside Pavers again when we next have a paving project. We are so pleased with the work that was done. The patio, pathway, ramp, and steps all look gorgeous, and I still can't believe the project is already completed. When we first started researching contractors, my wife and I were prepared to wait several months on a waitlist for an opening in someone's schedule. Based on how long our neighbors' patios had taken, we also expected the work to take weeks (if not months.) Instead, the project started within a few days of our signing the estimate, and it was completed a little over a week later. Walter was also very understanding of how we wanted to approach the project. We had an old brick patio that we loved, but it was very uneven and needed to be dug up to make room for the new patio. We also had many existing pavers that had been dug up several years prior to make room for a home addition, and we had hoped to be environmentally conscious by re-using most of them for the new project. Walter and his team carefully dug up all the old brick and managed to salvage enough useable pieces to make a lovely design in the middle of the patio, and they were able to use all the old pavers, as well! We did end up a little over budget, but the price had been very competitive, to begin with. One contributing factor was that we ran out of the old pavers towards the end of the project, but Walter had already done his research and had found coordinating pavers that worked well with our design. We also had a few (much-appreciated) additions to the project that Walter suggested, but he made sure to communicate with us well in advance when something might alter the price of the initial estimate. We hired Walter and the crew back in late June 2019. We were just moving into our charming, but older, Education Hill (Redmond, WA) home and I have spent a considerable amount of time researching contractors for pavers. Something really jived with me when I saw the review section, and then the website gave me enough of a gut feeling to hire. Like many of you reading this, it must be intimidating to hire out a 2-15k dollar job like this to a place with under 10 (at the time of this writing in Coronavirus May 2020) reviews. Please, I encourage you to consider these guys. Out of all of the contractors I've worked with since June 2019 to now, these are PRO'S. They worked SUPER hard and just got the job DONE. No excuses, no cell phones, nothing but grit and work ethic. They completed this job in less than 72 hours. I can't remember if it was 1 or 2 days. This was a 40~ year old cement driveway they had to rip out of the ground, and it turned out to be over 6 feet deep, but they committed and did it. Then, they filled the ground and laid a perfect Pewter Grey paver stone pattern. The work itself has lasted the seasons. To this day, our driveway is just stupid gorgeous. Rain, Snow, Heat and Cold have not done anything to it. I've found 1 chip, and it was my fault - I dropped a shovel on paver stone, shame on me. Water drains, even when under a super high load. Now, back to the work done at the time. Not only did they get the geometry right (I'm an engineer by trade, so this was refreshing), but also the spacing, the depth, the slope, gradient, everything. Walter and his team spent an abnormal amount of time checking and leveling the work space extensively. We did not work on some elaborate design or plan prior, I literally showed him the phone the day before work began and said "I want this, but, like, a drive way, you know?" and showed him the stone and pattern from his website, on my iPhone 6. He nodded, and literally took my imagination out of my head and made it real. I'm so genuinely impressed. This work was done so well, so fast, to such a degree of quality, with amazing materials and its been a year just about and its holding up better than I honestly expected. The amount of comments I've received on the driveway, almost every time I'm outside on a sunny day, is a long list of comments. We enjoy subtly 'flexing' the new improvement to the home and look forward to finding an excuse to work with Walter and his crew again in the near future! I've attached some pictures. Enjoy. Walter and his team installed a 14x18' patio in our back yard in August of 2022. After contacting Walter he worked incredibly quickly to get me a quote and explain their services and process. His team was able to get started on our project the same week that we contacted him, and they worked extremely fast. We discussed the requirements (dimensions, slope, materials etc.), and he made sure that we agreed on all of the details before getting started. This is a long-overdue review of the excellent paver work that Walter, his son and his team have done for our front yard and backyard last summer! Well, I can now also testify to the quality of their work since it's been over half a year (and through the rainy season) since they did their work. We have a large backyard, about 1/3 of which we wanted do lay pavers so we can use it as a patio space. My experience with Seattle Eastside Pavers is probably 4.5 stars but I opted for a 4 stars so others who read this review can do a better job than I did with working with Seattle Eastside Pavers to get a 5 stars experience. For the pavers work specifically I rate it as 5 stars. Walter and Samuel work on the pavers is excellent and there is nothing I would change. I am very happy with patio build by them and it was exactly what we needed and they finished on time. Where it fall short of expectation was my project involved creating a box for a sump pump and the box cover finish wasn't as good as expected which I had to rebuild. This is the result of poor communication on both side and I will be the first to admit I could do a better job as well. There were also hiccups along the way that could have been avoided if there was proper communication. Overall for next project involving pavers I would definitely reach out to Seattle Eastside Pavers again but would communicate better my requirements. read more
