Stopped by Coop's on a Saturday night around 7 pm, and the place was completely empty except for one table finishing up. I ordered the Double Clucker for the variety. It normally comes with their house sauce, but I added the house‑made ranch since people on Google were raving about it. If you choose any heat level, it defaults to Nashville style breading; Coop's Classic is reserved for kids meals or no‑heat tenders. They asked if I wanted to swap the fries for something else. I asked what counted as an even exchange, and the only option was coleslaw--which the Double Clucker already comes with--so that made no sense whatsoever. I stuck with the fries. Oddly, the meal doesn't include a drink, so I added an Oreo milkshake since that also had good reviews. The staff was very friendly, and the milkshake came out first and fast. They served it to my table in the empty dining room. Flavor was fine, but it didn't come with the cherry shown in the photos and included in the menu description. Worse yet, it was extremely watery--super runny, not cold, and definitely not "Frosty" as advertised. See my videos. Big disappointment. When the food arrived, the tender itself was great--moist and flavorful. The mild heat level barely registered for me, but the ranch dip was better than the house sauce dip. The coleslaw didn't do it for me. It lacked flavor, and the cabbage pieces were cut way too large. Lastly, the fries. Oh boy. Not refrigerator cold, but definitely cool. Not warm, not hot--just... cool. And ack. Overall, I can only recommend the tenders. They do sell them à la carte for $4 and change, and those are the only thing worth getting that I tried. I really like this place. it has a good vibe. everybody was friendly and nice. the food's really good. restrooms are clean. better than fast food. not quite fast casual. It is a hot chicken place so unless you like a lot of spice, keep it to a little spice or no spice. I ordered the Mack Jagger and cuz it's already swimming in jalapenos, even little spice was pretty spicy. I was impressed with the size of the wings. First time trying out this place and it did not disappoint! The restaurant is pretty spacious with indoor and outdoor seating. There were about 2 others patrons eating when we entered, and no wait to order. We ordered tender combo with fries and mac n cheese. In addition, we ordered the Cluck Norris fries. Coop there it is! Dining with the celebs like Lindsey Lohen and Henifer Aniston. Seriously good wings! My favorite is the dry lemon pepper rub. Hubby ordered the Mac Jagger. I got takeout on a Thursday night... service was good, but I was a bit disappointed by my Dixie chick. - I got the spiciest level of the the Nashville hot chicken. This was our first visit and girl behind the counter did a great job explaining the various levels of spice and even how they cook the chicken. I was in between heat levels so she offered a side of the dry spice rub. Ok, why is this place a 5 star place. First off, incredibly nice service staff. So you're feeling good before you even sit down. The place is clean and the layout is customer friendly. Why 4 stars? Because my sandwich was unique and enjoyable. --- --- --- I initially intended to come here for the chicken tenders, but two things swayed me: 1) The sandwiches available all looked really appealing. 2) They allow you to order one tender by itself for $3.99, which meant I could sample one outside of the sandwich. Everybody wins! It turns out, I wasn't that impressed with the solo tender, so I'm glad I went with the sandwich, after all. And while every sandwich was tempting, I ended up going with the Lindsey Lohen. Avocado and pico on fried chicken is a combination I've never thought of, but it was excellent. The fries, while they may just look like basic crinkle cuts, are actually really great. They are really moist, which might just mean greasy, but they were delicious, so consequences be damned. I also ordered a side of mac-n-cheese, which was solid. And I had one cup of the blueberry lemonade and refilled with strawberry -- both were really great to pair with my meal. Finally, the customer service was excellent. Everyone was super friendly and eager to help out. For the record, if you're like me and not a spicy eater, you can order the chicken with no spice. The Coop Sauce, however, was described as Cane's Sauce with a little heat, and that was an incredibly accurate description. Glad to see another spot has taken over this building and I wish them the best of luck! They opened at the end of January and I truly wish they had more business than we saw. First the location was very clean, nice seating option, a mural wall to take photos with angel... I mean chicken wings. The staff were great they walked us through the menu explain the heat situation and much more. They have a few options for sandwiches, loaded fries, and tenders which you can choose the heat you want (no heat - hella heat). Their coop sauce is comparable to canes but a bit more salt/heat. I actually preferred it to the canes sauce. You can also add more of whatever you like for a extra charge of course. For 3 people with meals and drinks it was about $50 so averaging around $16 a person so not too bad with the amount of food you get. My significant other got the Main Chick Loaded fries - hella heat which does have ghost pepper ( fries, hot chicken, queso, coop sauce) and I tried the Lindsey Lohen - lotta heat (hot chicken, queso, avocado smash, jalapenos coop sauce, tomatoes the works). He loved his and demolished the thing. The fries were perfectly crispy the flavor was great he did toss some extra coop sauce on there for him. But he didn't have any complaints for his other than. I did the Lindsey Lohen which I loved! The chicken was fried pretty good it was a little dry but you know its a big piece of chicken you get. I was excited to try this new chicken place after seeing the outlandish logo when it took over the former pizza spot. I have always been a fan of Cane's and their sauce, but man does Coop's give them a run for their money. Either way large portions and chicken that actually has flavor. And the Coop sauce is tasty. You have have noticed the shrinking tenders at Cane's but that has not hit Coop's. These tenders are well seasoned and well portioned. The pricing is a little higher but you get great service, more food, and a larger variety. Plus they have cold brews to tame the heat! I had the Lindsey Lohen and was very happy with my choice. They offer a ton of menu options so I'd recommend taking a look at the menu before heading over. They do not offer a drive-thru, but they do have "to-go" parking if you're in a rush, but be careful, this area can really fill up around rush hour. Ordered to-go lemon pepper rub wings with fries and coleslaw for curbside, if they were good I would have probably left out the part where although they were not busy with customers they did not bring the order out to me but the wings were super fatty and low in flavor...the fries were decent and coleslaw was like any other coleslaw (cabbage & mayo) and I had requested ranch on the side and they did give me 2 lil containers but they put it inside the box so of course the ranch got hot (who likes hot ranch? Not me!) I spent $17 with a $1 tip for wings I don't plan to finish after eating 2 and fries I'm sure my kids will eat as they are salty and not overcooked and basically tipped them for cooking since I had to go inside to pick it up. I didn't know what to think or expect but I was pleasantly surprised! I ended up getting the Lindsey Lohen sandwich which came with queso, guacamole, diced tomatoes, and their signature sauce-I didn't know it would be this big so if you order this come with an appetite. I liked that they didn't skimp on any of the toppings, it came with two decent sized chicken breasts. It was tasty, the sandwiches come with fries, I didn't know and ended up ordering a side of fries-so don't do what I did. The flavor of the sandwich were on point. Ok, this place is relatively new. It is one of the 1st Nashville Hot Chicken places in the area at least on the 1488/magnolia realm. It's simply decorated with a huge amount of staff waiting around for it to be busy. We ordered a basic chicken sandwich with cheddar and lotta hot as well as a side of mac and cheese, also a cluck Norris ( fries covered with chopped chicken fingers (lil hot), avocado, tomato and jalapeños. I did the cheese sauce on the side. Drinks consisted of a bottle of water and a house lemonade. So my daughter and I received great service with quick results after ordering. Everyone was very polite mostly. The manager was Omni present and standing around BSing with the cooks behind the counter. Overall, the chicken is very tasty, but not hot chicken. Neither meal came out looking like Nashville chicken in my opinion. Neither was spicy or even hot. I will say the pickled jalapeños were actually hotter. It was tasty though. And I would eat the chicken again because it was tasty. The cheese sauce was good, had jalapeño in, and is the same sauce I believe in the Mac and cheese. Fries were nice and crispy on my dish. I am a real fresh potato kind of fry guy, but this was ok for me. Here were my issues. Again, not Nashville chicken or even hot chicken. The Cluck Norris had diced tomatoes and jalapeño listed as ingredients but were really limited as a topping. For a $13.99 dish, a few tomatoes and more than 5 jalapeño slices could be provided. It is a franchise, so there are policies that dictate and I understand. It's similar to a freaky fast place when you order hot peppers and only get 4-6 on the sandwich. The slice of cheddar on the sandwich was less than enticing visually, but my daughter liked it. She was the one that ordered "lotta heat" and had no reaction to it. Here are some other things that bother me, but it is a marking thing. They have there house made drinks, they have a bucket of bottled beverages as you enter, all being of a $$. Their lemonade is $4.50, but you get refills. Anyway, when you sit down, you see a coke fountain on the wall. No where on the menu does it list any drink, let alone that. $11 for 6 wings is way steep in my opinion. Again, franchise. Would I go back, the chicken is a 4 star flavor! because it is tasty chicken, but it is not Nashville hot chicken in my opinion. There are other places that are better and close enough to drive to with a nice Nashville spice to it. I do think it is over priced, but in the current time where we willingly accept a $3.50 price in most establishments for a fountain soda it is probably ok as we as consumers accept sub par everything because we are sheep and follow (sorry political rant). I do wish them the best and hope they succeed. And hope that the location they chose serves them well. read more
