This is a very clean and modern place. With 38, reasonably priced beers on tap, and loads of TVs, this seems like a great place to watch sports. When we came in, it wasn't that busy, and the bartender was very generous with his time, offering testers to help us find the right beer. The food menu is extensive and very tasty. I ordered the sausage sampler, and that was a real fine. Very tasty versions. One hidden gem in this place is the Wine list. Brisket fried rice and ribs were excellent. We couldn't had asked for better service, the server knew the menu very well. I had my birthday dinner here on a weekday and was surprised how many booths they have... not only is it a nice and clean restaurant but appears to be well taken care of. Charm Tap House and BBQ absolutely impressed us! The Thai Yum Ribs were incredibly flavorful. We ordered two -- one was leaner than the other, but both were fantastic. I had the leaner rib and didn't leave a single morsel on the bone. Completely cleaned it. That should tell you everything. The Pork Belly Bao Bun was also very good, which says a lot because I don't normally care for pork belly dishes. The balance of flavors really worked. The Phuket Fashioned cocktail was smooth and sweet -- my husband loved it. The Tom Yum green beans completely blew my mind. Every flavor you love about tom yum soup comes screaming through in the best way possible. When my husband took his first bite of the Rib Fried Rice, he uncontrollably blurted out, "Oh my goodness, this is so good!" -- which pretty much sums it up. Our friend ordered the brisket mac and cheese and the sausage board. He said the basil sausage was his least favorite, but the other two were amazing. The brisket mac and cheese was good, he said he'd absolutely order it again. I tried the Charm Special Brisket Red Curry out of curiosity and was floored by how beautifully the flavors came together. I visited this new BBQ+Thai fusion restaurant which serves TX BBQ and a limited Thai menu in a very cozy setting. The lighting makes you think you're in a tavern or something. Service was pretty good for the most part. See more later. I'm not from this area, but it appears they tool over the space from a previous American restaurant and/or tap house. They do offer several beers on tap, as well as cocktails with Asian names. They are a little on the high side, but on Sundays they're $2 off. The BBQ is traditional American bbq with what seems to be some Thai spices including brisket, sausage, pork belly, half chicken, turkey and burnt ends (coming soon). They do serve ribs, but they're listed as an app for now and may not be smoked. They have 3 types of homemade sausage (spicy Thai, beef basil and fermented). Their sides are quite a departure from the normal American bbq sides. They're offering green beans, white rice, sticky rice, fries and edamame. I chose the Thai chicken wings, brisket, pork belly and sausage. I also added a sweet tea which was not very sweet and probably caters to the Asian customers. Some of their more interesting dishes are Thai bbq fried rice, special red curry brisket, a beef and basil prime burger, and double smoked fried wings. Brisket - definitely prime and has a nice smoke ring. I ordered 1/4 lb and it's one thick slice that comes with a Thai style bbq sauce in a ramekin and some thai style salad on the side. Was not a fan of the bbq sauce. 4/5 Sausage - this is a Thai style beef and basil sausage. The board also comes with the salad and an Asian style vinaigrette dipping sauce 3/5. You need to dip the sausage in the vinaigrette because the Thai style sausage tends to be dry. Chicken wings - these are good but double breaded and I didn't feel they needed to be. The garlic soy sauce is a slightly sweet sauce, but it wish I had tried the Thai chili sauce that comes as an option with the smoked wings. 3/5 Pork belly - 1/4 lb comes with like 4 slices and a salad, and the vinaigrette. I preferred dipping the pork belly in the Vinaigrette. 4/5 Only 1 issue with the service....when the server dropped off the appetizer, he just walked off and we were sitting there waiting on the next person to come to order because he never came back. It was the manager who eventually came and realized we haven't even gotten to order. They're obviously still working out some kinks. Had the pleasure having lunch at Charm Taphouse and BBQ. This is a comp of Thai street food meets Texas BBQ. We were seated quickly and server was very nice and responsive. They have a full bar and nice selection of appetizers. I had the HAAD YAI Fried Chicken, it was two crispy boneless Thai marinated chicken thighs, served with white sticky rice, and I substituted the green beans for the red curry Mac-N-Cheese, was delicious. My wife had the yellow curry with chicken, it was very good as well. The portions were huge and able to take home for another meal. Then we shared two entrees: -Tex-Thai BBQ Fried rice: 4.5-stars. It's hard to be mad at fried rice with a big slab of fatty brisket on top. -Charm special red curry brisket: 5-stars. Curry, rice and again, a fat brisket on top? Bathe me in this dish. I would have loved to try the pulled pork, pork belly and burnt ends, but none were available, either because they haven't introduced them yet or they were sold out. We visited June 28th, and our server said it would be about another month until they transition from "soft opening" to "grand opening." We will definitely be back then. This could easily be a 5 star destination but our night revealed several issues that will cause me to forgo that rating right now. Starting with seating. The dining room is a bit on the small size and it has become a game of inches. Avoid the booths if possible as the dining table will sit squarely in your gut and both tables and benches are immobile. Not sure all the booths are the same dimensions but we watched at least one other booth party of average size dive for relief and a table when one opened. Sacrifice some on the front end or make the tables slightly smaller so that seating is tolerable. Although they appeared adequately staffed, the wait staff were good at making you wait and not very solicitous. We never were asked for a drink order and had to request beverages. Our waiter scarcely made it to our booth and when asked for alternate seating, confirmed it was a known issue and had no solutions as he acknowledged the other booth occupants had grabbed the last table for the same concern. Ultimately, we took matters into our own hands and sat at the bar for our meal. Then came the meal. If you know me, than you know pork belly is my fave and the menu was peppered with pork belly appetizers and mains but apparently staff didn't anticipate the holiday boom and none was available making a good part of the menu gone. No worries, roll with the punches and try the sausage sampler which features your choice of 3 of 5 sausage options including a housemade thai sausage...which they no longer make but still feature on the menu as the top choice. We ultimately went with a few appetizers all of which were excellent which made the absence of my preferred protein appear all that more egregious. We finished and waited, once again, for our check. Based on the quality of what we were served, we will come again as this was likely an off night. read more

We love Charm Thai so when we heard they were opening a barbecue joint, we had to come once they were officially open. They're currently "soft open" so I'm sure the menu will change, and while the service was slow because they were still figuring things out, the food was delicious and just the fusion type of menu I was hoping for. I got the red curry mac and cheese and tex-Thai fried rice (which came with two ribs). The drink menu right now includes the main offerings from Charm Thai and a full draft list. What an interesting concept for a restaurant! Bar-be-cue and Asian food! We have gotten the pulled pork, orange chicken and Pad Thai. They were all delicious! We got the Pad Thai with turkey(!). However, i have since visited again but this time did look at prices. While the food is very good,it is totally out of line in their pricing. I looked on the menu from their other restaurants (Charm Thai bistro) and for the yellow curry, which they have at both locations, they are nearly $10 higher at this location. All of their similar items are ridiculously more at this location. My husband asked for a big rock for his cocktail, as he does everywhere we go, and we were charged $1.50 extra, on top of the already overpriced drink. I am sure rent is more expensive than the Spring location, but i don't think residents around here will support this pricing. Please consider adjusting the prices so people can afford frequenting. It really is delicious but too pricey. I haven't checked woodland location prices. Also the staff is woefully unknowledgeable about the menu. The first time we came, i thought maybe it was just because they had just opened, but now it is just irksome. Our waiter was also the bartender and didn't know if they had tonic for a drink. You need to train better and probably allow them to taste your menu. They do not know what your menu even tastes like. read more

I should have known it was going to be bad when the waitress told us they were selling barbecue by the pound because they had cooked a large amount the day before. Smoky, juicy, and kissed with just the right amount of char. Simply put, pitmaster Jonathan Rodgers, is firing on all cylinders, and it shows on every plate. That's why it was so disappointing to witness what happened behind the scenes. While enjoying our meal, we couldn't help but notice a tense moment involving who appeared to be the female Asian owner (we later found out). She was seen speaking to staff members, and a few customers, in a way that felt harsh, abrupt, and frankly, unprofessional. We understand the pressure of running a business, especially in hospitality, but kindness and respect should always be on the menu--especially for the hardworking people making that incredible food possible. It's hard to rave about the unforgettable flavors without acknowledging the uncomfortable energy that seemed to hover around the staff. The contrast between the quality on the plate and the tension in the room was noticeable and distracting. No one appeared happy to work there outside of Jonathan who greeted our table with a smile.
