This is an absolute MUST VISIT! My husband had never seen the Dukes of Hazard so I made him watch some before we came but if you know anything about it, this place is a great time. It's totally free to visit (of course you will spend money because they have awesome stuff here) and it is so much fun. They have a museum inside and cars related to the show as well as tons of photo ops outside. They have lots of souvenirs and cute items to buy and a restaurant as well. We wanted to have lunch there but we were a bit too early and we're feeling breakfast so we got some of "Daisy's Banana Pudding" to go and let me tell you, it was the best banana pudding I have ever had! Fresh bananas and definitely made with love. I also got myself a new T-shirt (pictured) but most importantly, we just had a nice time. The staff was really friendly and I highly recommend stopping in here if you get a chance. read more

Cool place off the highway. It's Dukes of Hazzard themed, even including a museum on one side. Burgers were decent, but nothing special. There's a large amount of gift shop stuff and even had live music in the museum. Worth a look if you're into vintage cars, TV shows and enjoy burgers and American Diner cuisine. read more

Ate an early lunch here on Sunday, June 14 at 1045am. I have driven by here for years and never stopped. I could never really guess what it would be like inside. I started with lunch. I was met at the entry by a delightful young lady who offered me a menu and said she would take my order when I was ready. A nice and unexpected touch. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with fries. You get to pick your drink from the cooler. My food was ready in less than 10 minutes and delivered to my table. It may be the best sandwich I have ever had. A huge portion of chicken with bacon, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and pickles, on a very soft and delicious bun. It was fresh, hot and delicious. The meal was a bargain at $15. The dining room was spotless. Fast and friendly service with great food at a reasonable price. After my meal I toured the gift shop and museum. The museum was free and well done. The memories it brought back were good ones and made me smile. The gift shop is neat and organized and the prices are reasonable. I am going to go back for the mechanics shirt for $30. Overall a fun experience. This could have gone either way. I would say it was an excellent and positive experience. You dont have to be a Dukes of Hazzard fanatic to enjoy the experience. Okay folks gotta admit grew up digging Daisy Duke. Who didn't? The Duke Boys, Roscoe, and Boss Hog were quite entertaining. If you wanted a "wow" moment, look at Boss Hog's Wikipedia page. Cooter was fun too, and kudos to him for the spot. It's a decent attraction, and friendly folks. This is what an opinion is, could be defined as a "tourist trap." It's really limited to Gen X and older. Even though it was nice to see cars, and exhibits from the show, as expected tshirts and other merchandise is expensive. Props to Cooter and all involved. (It's been a few months and I almost forgot to cuff and stuff this one.) If you're above a certain age, this place is a USDA Grade A nostalgia trip. To keep it simple, Cooter's has three parts: 1. Daisy's Diner which I believe does sandwiches and some type of BBQ. 2. A ridiculous amount of merch. 3. The museum (which if you're a fan of the show is really all that matters). A few random thoughts: * We showed up midweek in August and it was a ghost town. Maybe four other people the 90 minutes we were there. * This place is truly free. You can walk into the merch area, turn hard right and enjoy the museum portion, not buy a thing and it's all good. * While not terribly large, everything from the show that you would want to be here is. Two General Lees, Cooter's Tow Truck, Boss Hogg's Caddy, Daisy's Jeep, tons of pictures, props, etc. from the show. And apparently every Saturday from 1pm-3pm, Ol' Cooter himself shows up and does a free concert. With that said, this is not a destination stop unless you're a hard-core fan of the show (and if you are, you've probably already been here as Cooter's in one form or another has been around for a while and there are two other locations in Tennessee). This is more like if you're going to one of the caverns and are in the area or if you're rolling by on 81 and are interested in an hour-ish diversion, hit it. Delightfully kitschy for those who grew up watching the Dukes of Hazzard while their parents watched Dallas on the main living room TV. This FREE mini-museum has a ton of artifacts, especially the cars from the show as well as other memorabilia. The starts of the museum is the decked out kids room and the cars. Of course the General Lee is there, but so is the Grey Ghost racer that Cooter drove Asking with his junk hauler, the Dixie Jeep And Boss Hog's ride with genuine long horns mounted in the front. The coolest thing g though I learned is that Cooter", in real life after the show as statesman and an even was the recipient of the Order of St Maurice. We have driven by the Cooters Garage billboards on I-81 for years and always talked about stopping in. We FINALLY did and IT WAS AWESOME! We've been to the Dukes museum in Nashville but this one is SO much better! There is no admission fee - which is so hard to find these days! Like most people our age we grew up on the Dukes of Hazzard and we've seen every episode. Walking inside took us back to our childhood. The garage, and exact replica of the TV set, had every vehicle from the show. On Saturdays between 1pm - 3pm Cooters Band, with Cooter himself, puts on a free concert. The band was absolutely amazing. The female singer, Lisa, has an INCREDIBLE voice! On Sunday afternoons they have a bluegrass band. Every other Sunday morning they also do a gospel service. The setup to watch the music is great - you feel like you're sitting in someone's living room watching a jam session. They have a gift shop to purchase shirts, stickers, cups/mugs, hats, and other unique "Dukes" items. The prices didn't seem to be higher than other stores even though they could probably charge more. They also have a small diner/deli attached that includes Daisy's Dairy Bar - serving delicious ice cream. If you're in the area and you're a Dukes of Hazzard fan this is a MUST STOP! read more

We were looking for a cheap and decent place to grab a bite for lunch, and that's exactly what we found. This Dukes of Hazzard themed eatery pushes all my nostalgia buttons. The Boy and I both got The Boss Hogg - a grilled cheese and barbecue sandwich. It comes with a bag of chips, though there appears to have been an upcharge for getting the Route 11 chips; totally worth it. Two bottles of sweet tea, of course. My Darling Bride got the Enos- a grilled cheese with bacon and tomatoes. I'm sorry- "maters." Also a side of tater salad. Bottle of water for her. Total was $28. I've paid more and gotten no better. A decent selection of things to see and stuff to buy, a few items signed by "Cooter" for sale. Was greeted by an elderly gentlemen with a Navy hat. "Welcome to Cooter's", he said. As a Navy man myself, I wish I would've interacted with him. Too bad Cooter (Ben Jones) wasn't around though. At some point, I'd enjoy visiting the locations in Pigeon Forge and Nashville, Tennessee. Maybe it's just my personal opinion, but I really didn't like this place. It was covered in confederate flags. The museum was free, but I never really watched the show. There was also live music... the only lyrics I heard mentioned welfare in a joking manner. My sons got a good laugh and enjoyed their milkshakes, but I really see no reason to go back. read more

ow could you not love this place. We started out with breakfast at Daisy's Diner. Food was great, portions were very generous, prices were perfect. They do need a little better ventilation though, no complaining, just a suggestion. After breakfast, we perused into the gift shop and then to the museum. Talk about taking a trip back in time. I wish I had a 1/4 of the dukes stuff I had growing up :-(. Thank You Mr. Jones for keeping the legacy alive and well. After going back in time, we went back to the gift shop and loaded up on some apparel. You cannot put a price on Hazzard wear, but their prices are very reasonable. even hit up the discount rack. I am sporting my Boars Nest shirt as I write this review. So after filling our bellies, reliving a childhood for a bit, and purchasing some merchandise to remember my childhood, we left very satisfied. I am a huge fan of the Dukes of Hazzard, so Cooters is like a playground for me. They have a museum of memorabilia from the show, everything from props in the show to the vehicles. The store has everything that a Dukes of Hazzard fan could want. My only complaint is I can't help myself and always buy an arm full of souvenirs. They do have a diner there, but unfortunately it is only open Friday to Sunday. If you are a fan, it is a stop you can not miss. If your not a fan of the show its probably not for you. In my youth Friday nights were spent watching the Dukes Of Hazard. We had Waylon Jennings playing on 8-Track in our car and we were allowed to carry a knife on our belt..... ah, the 80's. Cooter's is a solid homage to those days, from themed board games to themed Halloween costumes it's all there. Admission is free, but you'll be purchasing something before you leave. We were in an antique shop in Luray, VA and my girlfriend spotted a vendor with vinyl records. One of the records she purchased was one from John Schneider of "Dukes of Hazzard" fame. Someone at the shop mentioned that the actor who played "Cooter" (Ben Jones) has recently opened a place nearby. Nestled along a stretch of Highway 211 lies a magical place. This place is all about Dukes of Hazzard. If you're a fan of the show or any of its actors, this place is your Mecca. As we pulled into the parking lot, there she was.. the General Lee in all her orange glory. Come to find out, this particular car was one of four originally made for the series. They also had Cooter's tow truck and a police car from the show. As we walked up, I took a picture of my dog next to Cooter's tow truck and a very cordial man laughed and made the comment, "That's great." Come to find out his name is Frank. He and Debbie run the place. Now, when I say these people are nice, that is an understatement. I have to remember, this is the South and people are just a lot more genuine and friendly here. They offer a huge selection of t-shirts, hoodies, caps, decals, guitar picks, key chains, lighters and other trinkets from the show and their actors. The very reason I used to have a CJ7 Jeep was because (growing up) I had a HUGE crush on Daisy Duke - much more so than Farrah. Yes, they have a bunch of Daisy items. We bought a couple of shirts and I had the idea of putting a shirt on my dog and posting it on Facebook. Debbie (being the major dog lover that she is) told me that she was buying that shirt for my dog. How sweet was that? And as if that wasn't enough, Frank told us that he'd try to get my girl's record autographed by Ben Jones... and if they didn't get it done by the next day (when we were going home) that he'd ship it to us. WOW. These people are incredibly nice. I love this place and their staff. I highly recommend stopping by and checking things out. And I understand that they're going to open a diner at this location very soon. I am a huge fan! read more

Not for me as I've never seen the show nor do I think it's appropriate to have confederate propaganda at the register area - and I'm not talking about the Dukes of Hazzard memorabilia with the confederate flag. There were pamphlets that were so disturbing it made my blood boil. I went here because we were on our way to Skyline Drive and my bf was into the show when he was child. If you're a fan of the show, I guess it's alright. It has the cars and show memorabilia, you can also get in the orange car for $5 and take a picture. There is also Daisy's Diner next door but it looked closed, may not have been but the cashier didn't seem interested in taking questions as she was on her phone most of the time. I'm giving 2 stars because the cars were cool and I guess it was a big part of the show. read more
